Hi, i am upgrading my TIME to 500Mbps soon. I am existing old customers, so got offer.

Anyway, i will be getting the new Huawei Router. Is it any good? How is the latency? I am currently using old TPLINK router (5GHz AC) and so far so good.  Test speedtest from my room with WIFI get 3-4ms latency usually.

Appreciate any feedback, else i would need to get a new Wifi 6 router.

I think last time they dun give ONU (modem cum wifi router) but give standalone modem + standalone wifi router? That’s why u no need to do anything. U should be able to see the modem connected to wifi router now.

For casual user maybe they will be happy with the free wifi 6 mesh routers they gave?

But personally to me they sucks especially if u play online game like me. The latency sucks.

Personal experience told me that even a tri-band wifi 5 is better than a dual-band wifi 6.

Saving is the same, both also save you RM240 for 2 years contract.
But as new account get you a free modem.

After 2 years, we expect broadband should be cheaper or faster anyhow.

Time didn't appreciate the long time user very much nowadays. I been using this TIME account since 2014.
I do feel reluctant to give away the seniority and start again as newbie, but free modem + RM240 + RM100 (for friend) is not a bad deal for the trouble.

yes, i can understand what u wanted. becos i also want the same, i am on 600Mbps plan and i wish i can have the same speed everywhere in the house with lowest latency possible as i can. Previously I was at a 2 storey cluster house i struggled a lot with the speed upstairs even with the mesh units. Now i moved to a 2 bedroom apartment unit, this situation improves by a lot. but if can i still wish to have FTTR also.  but too bad, the current place i stayed is rented one, so cannot do it... 

sad to say that, u should have considered FTTR, it is expensive, but if it is ur own house, i find that it is a perfect solution for now, even next time if internet plan gets cheaper that everyone also can easily enjoy 1Gbps plan u can benefit from it also.

my theory of buying things nowaday is always 'pay cheap and buy twice'. I will buy something best that can meet my needs instead of the cheaper alternative option. 

but after my current contract is over. i want to opt for 200Mbps plan (no contract) plan instead. 600Mbps plan to me is actually overkilled that i cannot fully utilise the speed. better to pay cheaper plan monthly for long run and use the savings for the equipment that can provide better and consistent speed will be more ideal even the speed is only 200Mbps.

now i can get 460Mbps speed via the wired connection thru the child node (mesh) in my study room, which is not too bad.. the latency is also quite good also. would want to spend the money to upgrade to wifi 6e or wifi 7 when the equipment gets cheaper for even better and more consistent connection than now. since FTTR is unlikely to be a possible option for me if i continue to rent the room. FTTR for time, it stated that it must be 600Mbps plan and above only can get...

yeah.. it will be the best solution for sure.. i am also certain it will not have issue for anyone who uses it...

difficult to connect? what does it mean? 

FTTR should be the best solution... too bad i am renting, so cannot add it.. 

else i really dun mind to spend the money to have FTTR.
