QUOTE(Everdying @ Oct 29 2018, 11:04 AM) nothing wrong with opinions, but at least have some substance... How can you forget Abbas Saad.just cos someone is qualified doesn't mean he has substance either... shebby and owen come to mind ;P At least Owen has played in top flight football. Although he says the dumbest thing. “What a shot! That’s completely unstoppable, but the keeper’s got to do better for me.” This post has been edited by kenlimfornication: Oct 29 2018, 01:49 PM |

QUOTE(qqmeng @ Oct 29 2018, 11:14 AM) come on guys.... sometimes in a match we see our players shout at each other in the field too, just different in opinion and thats about it... no bad blood. To be very frank, the discussion in this thread is much more comprehensive despite the salt and disagreement in many different things.ib this thread, we have mbr from different age group, different country, different understanding towards football, different level of knowledge etc... but with one heart..... YNWA! Some other football threads all have 1 liners like it is /k. With that, I'm very proud to say that Liverpool fans have much more substance YNWA |

Fabinho was nowhere to be seen after his yellow card. He became too careful and don't dare to commit. That's what my POV and Klopp didn't replace him because there was no one at all available to do that with both Keita and Headlesson out.
I think we did well and were really unlucky with VVD's chances and the disallowed goal. Time to move on. We can't afford to drop points to non-top 4 teams. This post has been edited by kenlimfornication: Nov 5 2018, 02:00 PM |

A good win although Fulham looked very lifeless to be honest.
The other 2 draws are also fairly important. |

QUOTE(stickmanchong17 @ Nov 12 2018, 02:28 AM) I watched it too. Smooth free flowing football. Pep's teams really dominate the league, be it in Spain, Germany or England! Memory issue?I really wonder when will we have a genuine chance of lifting the PL trophy. I don't know why but somehow, every 5 years we challenge for the PL title but end up as runners-up. It's quite sad, to think about it. The positive takeaway is that Klopp's teams has always been challenging for the top honours consistently every season, unlike the BR or Benitez era. Do you remember the team Rafa took over from Gerard Houllier? Rafa finished 2nd on his 4th season, consistently challenging Chelsea with Abrahamovic's money. Won Champions League followed by FA Cup the following season. Do you remember the team BR took over from Kenny Dalglish/Roy Hogdson? BR actually challenged for title on his 2nd season. If you analyze deeper, we have always lost out to Man Utd - and I cannot fault any of our managers except Graeme Souness for this because SAF was the elite manager. Then there was Chelsea spending like nobody's business and we had cowboys like Tom Hicks and partner. It went downhill with the appointment of Roy followed by Kenny. BR gave us a breath of fresh air and hope with the run in 13/14 season. He brought in Coutinho, kept Suarez for another season, and brought in Sturridge. We have not always been a high spending club. Klopp is a very good manager but he also gets to spend this much because we have sold Suarez and Coutinho both on very high profit. I'm glad he bought the right players in and the team is gelling well. Still, the reality is we are not spending like Man City because we don't have the money. That's the fact. We need a lot of luck to win without money. The crazy run by Leicester happens like once every 20 years with Blackburn winning in 94/95. |

QUOTE(stickmanchong17 @ Nov 12 2018, 07:24 PM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « For me, Rafa's many seasons with Liverpool simply was not as consistent as Klopp. Rafa is a great manager, no doubt. But to consistently compete for silverware is something I felt that Klopp wasn't credited enough. Indeed, money brings success nowadays. Rich clubs can always grab the best players first, and also the best coaches. 04/05 - Champions League Winner 05/06 - FA Cup Winner & UEFA Super Cup (if that matters) 06/07 - Champions League finalist 07/08 - Champions League Semifinal - most underwhelming season 08/09 - 2nd place in Premier League - pretty close run 09/10 - the ultimate downfall All these under the shit administration of Tom Hicks and George Gillet. 15/16 - League Cup finalist, Europa League Finalist, and 8th place league finish. 16/17 - Round 4 FA Cup, 4th place league. Semi Final League Cup 17/18 - Champions League finalist, 4th place league, early exit in domestic cups. The best players he had was Gerrard, Carragher, Hyypia. He had minimal and slow rebuild with Alonso, Garcia, Reina and co. Klopp came in with a much better starting 11 and a better owner. I'm not knighting Rafa or dissing Klopp. I just don't know how you came up with Rafa was not consistent in challenging silverware even more so less than Klopp when you can actually see, Klopp is behind in the 1st 3 seasons. Just because he had a crap final season doesn't mean that is all we should remember him by. Rafa did more with less and I hope Klopp can do much better with this much resources available to him. |

QUOTE(sahathai @ Nov 20 2018, 10:47 PM) Thanks for sharing. People seem to remember downfall more. Rafa has always been awkward with interviews and never really had the charm or energy like Klopp. Sure Klopp gives hugs to everyone and celebrates the goals while Rafa rarely celebrate. Probably that's why stickmancheong thinks Klopp is more consistent because of the hype and the energy Klopp brings. |

QUOTE(farisq @ Nov 25 2018, 01:02 AM) Haha ugly win but I'll take it. I thought it was a decent win. A shaky 1st half but they came in big 2nd half and ended the game on a high. Superb free kick, excellent counter attack goal.It is painful to see their DM way better than ours, that Doucoure lad reminds me of Viera. Like I said before it amazes me that whenever we counter attack Robertson will be the first to sprint forward. And, shall I say bend it like Arnold. I guess when Harry Wilson is back hopefully we can be more threatening from set-pieces. Ugly win is maybe last minute penalty or tap in 1-0 win. |

QUOTE(farisq @ Nov 26 2018, 05:53 PM) Well, may be a decent win if you look at the scoreline. But I can't say the same about the performance, the team did not play to its potential. And our non functioning midfield still bothers me. For me, we played better against Fulham. I understand where you are coming from. But realistically, there will be up and down for performance. We have a huge team and many new players. So yes good win but not good performance. Maybe just me but I dont expect every player to play at 8/10 and gel like super glue every game. |

Do you blame the player for his playstyle, or do you blame the coach for picking that player and losing the game?

QUOTE(Lionel90 @ Dec 3 2018, 09:59 AM) Only watched the first half but boy, Bobby was really nothing like what we know. I remember in like 10 secs, he mispassed to his left, we won the ball back, then he mispassed to the right. WTF!? And Mane's finishing.. Coleman was probably the easiest RB he would come up against this season but no goal to show for... I notice that gergen pressing style is less aggressive this season. I think it is to balance both balance and attack and this might have nullify Firmino a little as he is the Kuyt type of player but with better technique and skill. Tireless and continuous pressing. And charge that pitch invader! This is probably why he wasn't as effective as last season, but he is still the best forward we have although this system works well for more traditional strikers like Sturridge. Origi was very impressive coming on albeit that hair. His pace was amazing, knocking the ball and shrugging off the defender and that accurate cross to Mane was so good. This guy and Solanke is for the future after Sturridge and Firmino. This post has been edited by kenlimfornication: Dec 3 2018, 11:52 AM |
