QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Feb 15 2023, 10:17 PM) I recently subcribed to U38 Postpaid. It doesn't seem to work on TP-Link MR600 4G+ modem. I tried to set APN Manually 'my3g' but still no internet connection. There's signal of band 1, 3, and 8 Umobile hotspot is meant to work from your phone only. They block usage from Mifi, wireless modem.Hotlink and Digi hotspot works on mifi/ wireless modem. If you are not a heavy user, consider using an old / backup 4G phone as your modem and hotspot from it. If you are a heavy user, you should consider Umobile wireless broadband plan. QUOTE(axxer @ Mar 3 2023, 08:01 PM) Just buy dedicated phone for hotspot then. Xiaomi zmi z1 is a good dedicated dumbphone for hotspot. Small enough like nokia keypad dumbphone with 5000mah battery and cheap enough below rm200. Won't be violating any terms since its a literal phone with proper imei and stuff. good idea !I got an old 4G samsung phone, may want to test it nexona88 liked this post

U mobile Borneo plan really good.
4G coverage has improved so much compared to 4 years ago. Thinking of changing my main line to Umobile. Does Umobile have consistency in their offering or they will force change it later? This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Jan 22 2024, 04:12 PM |

hi guys, I noticed this u borneo postpaid plan has unlimited Ultra-hotspot. I understand this ultra means can be used on modem?
nvm - got my answer. Ultra just means the mobile hotspot can withdraw from main data pool, restriction to modem still applies. zzz This post has been edited by Chrono-Trigger: Apr 30 2025, 02:37 PM |

QUOTE(lurkingaround @ May 22 2025, 12:24 AM) . Are they still banning sims these days with their FUPMaybe only U Mobile (= under Singaporean management) and 1 or 2 other celcos know how to do Deep Packet Inspection to ID those who use modded modems to bypass hotspot data limit and ban/terminate their modded devices or SIM cards. ....... Celcos who do not know how to do DPI will likely attract many modded modem users on cheap "unlimited" Prepaid plans hogging Internet data, eg to watch 4k/2160p videos on their large screen TVs, thus often causing 4G/5G network congestion for those celcos. . |

QUOTE(petpenyubobo @ May 21 2025, 08:47 PM) Very expensive compared to CD's Kuning 25 plan. Hotlink is by far the most straight forward telco that gives you the freedom to use the data in whatever way you want. Also CD's Kuning 15 plan has no speed limit and can access 5G/4G with same 40GB pool. It has separate 30GB for hotspot access. Avoid telcos which sells their plans claiming to be UNLIMITED but with FUP quota and also insist that you only use the SIM in phones. This is outright a SCAM which MCMC still ignores. Support telcos which honestly sells large fixed quota and allows you to use them in any device regardless of 4G/5G network. I tried the 100GB for rm15 Celcomdigi offer - the hotspot is severely crippled with very low speed and it stalls at times. I felt that it was a bit dishonest for them not to inform beforehand that the data can only be used in phones, not hotspot or modem.
