Nope…all old plans were discontinued and those on old plans won’t get 5g.  Must change to the latest plan at per https://www.u.com.my/en/personal/mobile-pla.../postpaid-plans in order to enjoy 5g.

So disappointed!
*
My guess is that they had to cut some corners in order to sign with DNB for 5G, so they're forcing users to go for new plans if they want 5G, the 5GB hotspot quota is already a sign that they're cutting corners.

Damn, iPhone still can’t 5G  bangwall.gif
Prepaid one hour a day is just lame. Might as well don’t give
Which other network offers better 5G prepaid plans?
*
Yes is still the cheapest at RM 30/month.

QUOTE(clovercliff @ Nov 3 2022, 04:06 PM)
GX68 unlimited data, isnt this better choice than U98 have 1000GB data cap?
*
If you don't care about 5G and free 15GB roaming data, probably no reason to switch.

what is ur usage for gx68?

with 4G speed, its hard to pass 80g bandwidth, especially in umobile weak signal
*
I'm using their new U38 plan, what I meant was if you don't fancy 5G and free roaming data, there's really not much reason to switch from GX68.

QUOTE(ikram_p @ Nov 3 2022, 09:29 PM)
Another problem is, although 5G phone. they still need to know wether your phone is in the umobile list or not.

I chat today dunno if temberang or not, my poco f3 5g is not yet in their database for 5g. So need to wait for update on their side.

Unifi mobile have my phone list. I better port first.
*
As long as your phone is in DNB's list, your phone should support the telco's 5G, and Poco F3 is indeed in the supported list.

https://www.digital-nasional.com.my/interactive-map#map

U Mobile's so called "list" is just the list of phones that they are selling on contract.

The operator just temberang then... Just too close the issue on their side so they wont need a follow up.

Already restart and airplane summore.

Sometimes their customer service is like hit and miss, some are very helpful and some are there just to copy paste makan gaji.

Can I sign up postpaid 68 before I go travel downgrade to 38 after travel?
Or 38>68>38 devil.gif
*
I think you can, as long you settle the outstanding bills before switching.

Downgrading plan nowadays is relatively easy, even their CS on Facebook can do it pretty quickly for you.

How's umobile coverage? planning to port in to Umobile postpaid plan.

Celcom doesn't allowed my old  plan to upgrade to one of their plan. (weird)
*
Depends on your area, you may try getting a prepaid SIM pack to test or ask anyone around from your area that's using U Mobile. Personally I feel the network has been stable in KL most of the times, although there are some hiccups here and there especially in MRT underground tunnel or some basement car park.

As for Celcom, are they forcing you to upgrade to their more expensive plans? If that's so, this is not their first time doing this, you have to threaten them that you'll be reporting to MCMC for unfair business practice because they have no right to stop you from upgrading to any plans regardless of how old your current plan is.

Wish to enquire between U Postpaid 38 and Prepaid U35. Does postpaid plan have stronger and faster network speed compare to prepaid plan ?

Any one compare before.
*
The only difference is that Postpaid 38 is full speed but with 30GB data while Prepaid U35 having speed cap at 6 Mbps but with "unlimited" data (100GB FUP).

I have fedup and port in to uMobile yesterday. Now replying with my new uMobile Telco.

Yes my old plan only can upgrade to their what gold plan or something. Other xpax services is not available for me to switch plan. Been 7 years with them. Sigh
*
Ah yes, still using the same exact tactic to trick loyal users, it feels like they're trying to "penalize" loyal users for sticking with old plans for so long so they have force loyal users to jump straight to their premium plans, very dirty business tactic right there. doh.gif

But anyhow, hope you're satisfied with U Mobile. smile.gif

Can i know which outlets can i go to change from physical sim to esim? I asked a few umobile outlrts at smaller malls and all say cannot.
*
If you live in KL, you can try Berjaya Times Square or 1U because that's where their official service centres are located, the full list is here:

https://www.u.com.my/en/personal/support/st...ll-towns&t=esim

The ones in smaller malls are usually dealers, so they can't do the transition for you.

Question. Everytime I switch phones do I need to go to the service center to pay and request for a new qr or is the esim self transferable?
*
Non transferable at the moment, basically have to pay for new esim every time you switch phones.

You might have to wait until esim become more mainstream then they might change their capitalist-ish policy.

Very nice to know that the quota upgrade for postpaid 38 is permanent and now you can hotspot main data after finishing your hotspot quota as well, so for postpaid 38 you would be able to hotspot a total of 65GB
*
Luckily have been staying with them until now, 60GB for RM 38 is a steal, those who were worried that 30GB not enough for 5G need not to worry anymore. biggrin.gif

my primary line is a maxis one share 48, unlimited data but stuck at 4g make me a bit upset when umobile has 5g lol
*
If you're satisfied with what you're using, just stay where you are. Maxis will definitely be getting 5G after the review of DNB is completed by the government, and it's probably just a month away or two.

Trust me, there's really no point to port out just for 5G, after all it's just plain curiosity and initial wow factor from speedtests, you'll realize there's nothing special about it once you're using it daily.

If you're really curious, just get a prepaid SIM pack to test out or ask people around you that's using U Mobile.

i think U Mobile is the best internet plan for now....at least not worst than YES4G....LOL

I don't know why...i just do not trust YES
*
It's understandable because I don't trust them either.

They are basically the "master of tumpang glamour" because even though they were the first to introduce 4G back then, they spent more on hype and advertising instead of improving the network, and that's why they have the worst 4G coverage. Now with 5G, it's almost the same tactic, what's different is that they're not the one building the 5G network, so they can tumpang all the way.

QUOTE(cheehoong91 @ Feb 13 2023, 06:02 PM)
Yea. Any way we can feedback so that u mobile able to look into and improve the situation?
*
Either feedback to their CS via Facebook or use Jendela app.

Worst case scenario if none of them works, report to MCMC.

For those who can't use Ultra Hotspot on other devices, you have to activate it manually.

Logically yes, since it uses the quota from the main data pool.
