Just buy dedicated phone for hotspot then. Xiaomi zmi z1 is a good dedicated dumbphone for hotspot. Small enough like nokia keypad dumbphone with 5000mah battery and cheap enough below rm200. Won't be violating any terms since its a literal phone with proper imei and stuff.

I dare to say that um is the most spammiest telco of all. My maxis, digi, unifi sim doesn't have as many spam sms as um. Like every 2-3 days the same shit being blasted to my phone. Its worse for me because the sim is in a nokia dumbphone for backup so can't really block the sms like on smartphone. End up making the phone on perma silent, but still annoying because whenever i check the phone every week theres that 3-4 unread sms every fucking time. Sigh...

Came to ask the same thing. Been extending my um line for years using the rm1 every 55 days. Now gone replaced with the rm30/days, who would buy that lmao. Prob gonna port to another telco.
