Some prefer to use a 4G Android 10" tablet with the 'unlimited' GX50 = no need to hotspot = uses less electricity compared to your setup.

For ease in typing long posts/comments/emails, can use the 3rd-party Hacker's Keyboard app(must disable lock screen password/PIN) or a Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad, eg the Alcatroz Explorer Dock 2bt.

Errrr... Who needs a tablet when the ultrabook can become a tablet? My HP ENVY X360 Convertible 13 inch can become everything... Gaming too (emulation as well...) ...use active pen instead of poking on the tablet... LOL... More efficient and save more electricity than separate tablet/device...just bring 2 devices will do... No need tablet leyyy.... I don't see the purpose of tablet since it was introduced more than 5 years ago... Looks like everyone is following Mr. Timmy (just to make his investors happy...)... Even Mr. Timmy also copy-cat Android/Windows devices with Pen support on iPad Pro... So primitive tech... LOL...

Just one ultrabook with pen can become everything...

Mr. Timmy needs to "innovate" the MacBook to become touchscreen with Apple Pen support... Then, I'll become the dark-side of the Force/eco-system... LOL...

A 4G Android tablet can make voice-phone calls and surf the Internet = no need a separate smartphone or laptop. Your setup requires 2 devices = uses more electricity, .......

Errr.. . So, you're not carrying "a" smartphone right now...?

let's say..
I uses Prepaid.. majority usage with phone..
sometime put the sim into Modem.. like 1 or 2 hours usage like that (depending on my mood) tongue.gif
*
We might want to reduce the hassle moving the SIM card back and forth... So, use SIM adapter below:

Put the swapping SIM on the adapter. No need to use SIM ejector anymore... Be careful on the adapter size (nano or micro or full size SIM card...)

Great suggestion. I'm gonna get 2 of them for easy SIM swapping between 2 devices. Thanks.

Might need to use casing to hide the protruding/dangling SIM....

Alternatively, use duct tape will do as well....

Hi. My father U Mobile suddenly no service.

I swapped the SIM card to another phone but also no service.
No line barring at all. We paid every month before the due date.

Is it the SIM Card faulty?
Planning to visit U Mobile tomorrow about the SIM Card.
*
I've faced this once before. Out of the blue, the network is not available with status "Emergency Calls Only".

After making a call to their hotline (of course using another phone), they admitted to make a mistake of "accidentally" barring my line instead of someone's else account.

So, just make a simple call to their CS to verify before wasting time at kiosk...

Human makes mistake... So expect "out of the blue" scenarios(s)... Just don't be paranoid and we'll be fine...

GX50. I am having problem receiving sms verification from Twitter and SETEL. Does anyone has this problem? Just switched to this Telco and I am having bad experience using it sad.gif

Just do airplane mode on and off... The TAC/MSOS code for UM has been unreliable since last September (right after they do system upgrading)...

Hence, I'm now hunting to port out because the RM10 rebate (for GX50) is over on my next bill...

Thanks ! rclxm9.gif  had to do it multiple times for it to work
*
Actually once only... Just wait for 10 seconds before turn off the airplane mode... The phone will "properly" hand-shake with the cell tower(s) after 10 seconds disconnected...

How about test the speed by using other speed test apps? Are the results same with this?
*
Not interested with other testing platforms. Only wanna see which telco throttle Netflix streaming. If test using other platform(s), CONFIRMED more than 30Mbps... those testing apps are not reliable at all ...

Fast.com is my personal Gold Standard for Download/Upload speed test. The rest are BS...summore, it does not need to install apps. Just run using browser on phone or desktop... Easy as 1-2-3...

Today I have learned a lot of things from you, brother.

How about using other browsers like Chrome or Firefox?
Is the speed will be affected by different type of browsers?
*
Browser client does not affect cellular data speed. I like Yandex Browser becoz it is one-hand user-friendly. All menus are at the bottom. No need to reach all the way to the top of the screen...Been using Yandex for more than 5 years edy...
All Devs should be aware that future devices will have bigger screen...STOP PLACING THE MENUS AT THE TOP!!! Those do this UI need to go to kindergarden edy... especially Apple iOS UI... Extremely bad UI...LOL...

So it's confirmed that Postpaid GX Gilerrr plan throttles "streaming" speed between 6pm to 9am everyday... To be reviewed...
