UMobile does not use Band 20 = 800MHz. Only YES uses Band 20. Khuan0813's problem is likely due to the following: ...

Eg the Oppo A5 2020 and A9 2020 do not support LTE Band 7 = 2600MHz, the main 4G LTE frequency used by UMobile. ....... https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/6507521b
https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/dd36521a

So, we need to check the specifications of phones to be celco-compatible before buying them or before subscribing to celco.
.
*
Before buying the phone, that was on December 2019, I have checked the phone specifications many times from oppo Malaysia official website : oppo.com.my and vivo Malaysia official website : vivo.com.my.

That time, the phones that I wanted to buy both support 4G band 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 38, 40 and 41 as stated on their official website.

But just now I go to view the oppo, they have changed to 4G band 1, 5, 8, 38, 40 and 41.

And vivo has not changed, still maintain the same.

Anyway thank you for helping me to find the answer.

Yes, the data-"unlimited" prepaid GX30 PHONE plan is limited to 3Mbps only. Video-streaming is limited to 720p/1.5Mbps(before Dec 2019, was limited to SD/480p/0.8Mbps). Throttling to 0.5Mbps will occur after exceeding 100GB of data per month = can still read news and video-stream at 360p or 240p. P2P/torrenting is also throttled to 0.6Mbps.

Yes, they can detect, especially if you use about 100GB of data per month. They use Deep Packet Inspection to detect. Once detected, they may throttle, disconnect, terminate, etc the T&C/law-breaking subscriber.
....... In USA, the celcos are not allowed to do DPI on their subscribers.
.

For my GX30, there is no speed capped after exceeding 100GB of data per month.

The police will never reveal all the methods they use to catch thieves. So, we can only agak2 from previous reports by illegal subscribers about how UMobile detects and catches illegal subscribers of its affordable "unlimited" 4G phone plans. Best to not be an illegal subscriber or abuser eg use modded or unmodded 4G modems, the Pdanet+ app, etc.

If still stubborn and use illegal methods, then should stay below 30GB of data per month to lessen the chance of being DPI by UMobile to near zero - it is not, use below 100GB to stay undetected. If use 50GB per month, the illegal subscriber may still get DPI by UMobile since data consumption by subscribers can fluctuate month-to-month, ie assuming UMobile only has the manpower to DPI the top 2% data-consumers every month - ie out of about 6 million subscribers in Malaysia = DPI about 120k subscribers every month.

A few smart illegal subscribers only use the Pdanet+ app, that bypasses the hotspot limit, occasionally, ie not all the time, and stay below 30GB of data consumption per month = they remained undetected by UMobile for years. The same for modded or unmodded 4G modems - they even use a SIM-adapter to easily swap the SIM-card between phone and modem.

.
P S - On my postpaid "unlimited" GX50 phone plan, I use about 70GB of data per month = cannot be an illegal subscriber.

Normally, web-surfers just trust and rely on the video-streaming website to offer whatever maximum video resolution it has and rely on whatever maximum video resolution is supported by their device and by their ISP, eg Youtube mostly offers video resolution up to 1080p, ie from 144p, 240p, 360p, 480p and 720p, and the affordable UMobile GX30/50 phone plans only allow up to 720p/HD/1.5Mbps video-streaming(=  without any buffering).
....... This is what I do, ie just trust and rely on the video-streaming website and confirmed by my own eyes, eg 720p videos on my Android device is much sharper and clearer than 360p.

If you want to check whether a website is offering real 1080p or 4k/2160p, there should be tools/programs/apps available for you to do that.

I know how to differentiate between a 480p video and 720p video by my own eyes.

I just cannot differentiate between a 720p video and 1080p video by my own eyes because they are almost the same.

Sometimes the video information shows that it is a 1080p video, but actually it is a 480p compress video, not real 1080p video.

Anyway thank you for your reply.

Hi , i am thinking of changing my existing mobile plan to the new Umobile GX68.
Can someone provide some user experience like how is the speed of the data or is the data extremely slow in some specific area and so on.
*
It depends on your location. If you want to know more accurate, go to buy a U Mobile prepaid number and try yourself.

I am a U Mobile GX30 user from 11/07/2018 in Ipoh, I am satisfied with it, both user experience and the speed.

If you are interested in U Mobile GX plans, whether is GX68, or GX50, or GX38 or GX30, just go to try the plan you want for one or two months.

If you found that the line is bad or speed is slow in your area, then you can terminate it immediately.

Or if you have friends or relatives who are using U Mobile, same plan as you want to use, you can ask him go to your place there to try the line and the internet speed for you.

Those comments here are just for reference only, maybe have personal bias inside.

One more thing is, if you are a oppo or vivo smartphone user, make sure that your phone has 4G band 7. Because many oppo and vivo smartphones do not have 4G band 7.

Without 4G band 7, U Mobile 4G line will become weak and unstable in the house and buildings.

Based on some 4G sites i observed, one cell ad having 400 users.
We have 3 sectors per site, 4 layers(900/18/21/26) per sector = 4800 users

5G need to cater more users with same coverage or more sites within an enodeB. Sommore we have whole users from all operator using the gNodeB, so a gNodeB need to cater 20k users at least , perhaps there has more layer than 4G enodeB.

Umobile denies it and U Mobile has highlighted that the FUP for GX30 and GX50 have been removed.

Yes, already removed since December 2019.

Even if UMobile remove the FUP limit, once you use more than 200gb no matter what plan you are and no matter you use it in legal way, umobile still will initiate banhammer
*
More than 200GB per month is extremely heavy usage already.

Assuming you are watching 720p / HD drama for 8 hours every day, data usage is roughly 5GB per day, data usage for 30 days is roughly 150GB.

If your plan is GX30, GX38, GX50 or GX68, the average price per GB is 0.2, 0.25, 0.33 and 0.45. Already worth for what you have paid.

If other telcos like MAXIS, CELCOM and DiGi have such cheap unlimited data plan like U Mobile, they will also ban you.

Just look at MAXIS / HOTLiNK, the price for 1GB data where got so cheap ( less than 0.50 per GB )?

The price must more than 1.0 and above.

Digi infinite (80/100) can download for more than 500gb (My relative have 80 with rebate 30 permanent)
Digi infinite (150) can download for more than 2tb ( I tried that)

Maxis One Prime can still download after 1tb of usage (with vpn)
*
What I want to say is watching the videos instantly, see whether the internet speed is fast enough to watch smoothly without buffering.

Not download to the drive first, then watch them later. This cannot test anything. Even the speed already capped after a specific GB, you also don't know because the speed still can let you download the things you want but at a lower level.

And some more, the plans you mentioned all are quite premium, not anybody can afford to use.

If such premium plans do not let you to use such amounts, I think you already go to complain to MCMC.

If I am not mistaken, Digi Infinite 80 no longer available anymore.

I was using the P99 so my speed was already max speed before this. Though how often you can actually get above 5mbps is a completely different story. But yeah the GX68 plan speed is basically the same as the P99 speed.
On P99 plan and also the GX68 plan, YouTube download speed seems to  be limited to 200kbps from my phones built-in network speed indicator and usually I just play it at 480p. Definitely not fast enough for 1080p but I remember sometimes 720p is playable and sometimes it's not.
*
720p YouTube videos are playable all the time with GX30.

so sad hearing this.because the only plan to tag with flagship device is p99 and p139. if p99 can only stream 480p youtube then for what they bundle flagship like samsung galaxy s20 in a package wasting the phone capablities
*
I am a GX30 user since July 2018 until today.

I can stream 720p YouTube videos all day with GX30, how come other plans with faster speed cannot stream?
