You didn't keep the old receipt together with the service booklet?

You can told your parent to ask the SA to view old service records and see what type you use before.

diff sa cause i drove the car back to hometown

Don't worry about what oil to use. As long your parent go back the same SC, they will have records and the SC will advise on the items need to replaced.

i think i know what i used, 0w 20

I did my 30k km service today and there are good news, bad news, and worse news.

Good news
They will change my inner door rubber that kept coming. And they finally (I hoped!) found out the cause of my 'nyek nyek' left rear sound. I insisted the pomen to test drive with me, luckily within SC carpark got a road hump, so a short drive over it and the pomen confirmed there is a problem, unlike last time. rolleyes.gif

All SC can pull your record even you change SC. Record are centralized at Honda using SAP.

Honda also know how many spare part available in each SC.

For example, 2014 model have a battery recall, at Honda website, I can check how many battery available at each SC. When I go to SC to service my car, after the SA key-in the car number, the system will prompt SA to advise owner about the battery recall, if I didn't change the battery yet.

i see, u check by asking sc izzit
QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Oct 23 2018, 09:35 AM)
I am well aware that some members here are facing similar problem as me without solution. That's the reason why I shared my findings and the solution(maybe!) from my SC.  rolleyes.gif

But the fact that it might take one whole day means its a major repair which is, for me, unexpected of a brand like Honda.

For the DOT, lower grade or not, it depends on the requirement stated in manual/reservoir tank cover.

i think all dot 3 , i asked my friend

I am using Bosch horn.
No need adapter, the accessories shop just fashioned DIY pins and plug into the original socket and tape it to prevent it from coming loose & from water.
*
i do that too, diy some pin but it come out after some times... i need take off whole bumper to put it on again..
maybe your shop have some standard pin?

QUOTE(nordingh @ Nov 9 2018, 09:27 AM)
For horn no need to get the adapter, most accessories shop know how to fabricate a new cable for use with dual horn.

For the tweeter, if you read this thread from beginning, you should get the answer. What I can say, really worthy.
*
haha got 2 method, diy pin or cut the wire , potong leher and connect... i dont want cut wire, i want it to be more original

tweeter izzit you guys buy from the fb side or got other source? the quality good? if yes maybe i consider get 2 pair, front and back haha
cause my e spec dont have tweeter only got casing with empty for front and back door

Dear all,
My car is 6000km, 5 months old. I am experiencing mouldy smell from the aircon when I switch it on,it smells like wet clothes stored in cupboard. Sometimes it clears off after a while, but sometimes it lingers on.

I checked the aircon filter. It's still relatively clean and no mouldy smell from there.

Anyone experienced/experiencing the same thing?
Did you get charged for AC servicing when you complained to the SC?
*
haha sometimes i get this problem.. i wonder why.. you know the root cause now?
It only starting when start like few min then no more smell... some of my friend said maybe perfume or something

It's usually caused by mildew in the ac system. Just that I am not expecting it to happen to a 5-month 6,000km car. And mine is not just during the initial few seconds after start up.
I owned my previous car for a few years, bought used, and didn't have this problem.

how you know is mildew? mine is around 1year or 2 year car...sometimes dont have the smell. .
my gf said probably i put some smelly sock inside and the aircond took the sock smell haha..

Hahaha! Mazda is understandable, until you stuff her into the cramp rear seats of Mazda2. But Mitsu???? Why???

Its true that Proton have easier servicing experience. Personally, the SC pomen where I bring my Persona for servicing are really skilled and experienced. They can explain what needs to be done and why. Really blew my misconception of Proton bad service image right until I sold my Persona.

Honda i thinks its coz their SC numbers aren't able to cope with their booming sales number. Coupled with an increase in quality issues they need to solve, so they need more time servicing per car.

Mitsu what competitor for city? Haha maybe his wife want Evo

If screeching sound, means aldy eat into the metal base of the pad. This might damage the rotors if prolong usage. I did that with my Persona when I was noob driver then. Luckily my pomen tell me to replace immediately b4 further damage. Haha!

Some pomen has an eye to see the remaining pad and able to advice on replacement b4 above situation happens.

Ya I know the sound.. But sometimes still got pad also got the sound.. Then after sometimes it will gone.. We can see outside pad but not the inner.. The inner need take out rim I guess?
QUOTE(AaronLJW @ Jan 23 2019, 07:49 PM)
Check your brakepad thickness each time you're servicing in SC lor.. <1-2mm can change jor but depend on your drive style also lar.

I change because I can easily overheat my brakepads during my breakfast run so beh song πŸ™ˆ
*
SC will check for us? Sometimes they cincai remarks.. I have friend get 2 time reading diff service, 1st time write 3mm 2nd time 5mm..then he Dulan he ask sc why become more? Sc go check and verify said last time is wrong.. This time correct.. Lolz.. I didn't recall sc check my brake pad.. 3more.month for next service... Need request then check? They will check inner side also?

Inner pad, yes need to take out rim. But usually wear is about the same for both sides. If one side is eating more than the other, that means the centering of rotor is off or caliper force one side is more than the other. Either problems need to check by pomen.
*
i see... thanks so i try see outer side once i back..

QUOTE(AaronLJW @ Jan 23 2019, 09:48 PM)
Just stand beside and watch them do the check and everything, that's what I do when I'm at SC. My car never leave my sight until it is done.

Tell them to check your brakepad thickness, they will take out your rim and pads out to measure..

Go to your trusted SC rather than jump here n there πŸ™ˆ
Continental CC6 will be more comfort and quieter, my stock tyre last me about 50K+ km and still can use but itchy hand go change πŸ™ˆ
*
which sc you service? i went the sc can't see, sometimes i request, they need 1 sales advisor to escort me , worried safety problem... so they escort me go down see a while then tell me lets go up..

Hi everyone.

I have 0 knowledge on car. Hence need some word of advice.

I bought my Honda City (S) - lowest spec back in 2015, that comes with those steel rim.

One of my colleague in office selling used Honda Civic 2018 low spec tyres and rims- with all 4 16inch size rim + tyre for RM1.1k. Only used for 5 months then he changed to a those sports type tyre.

Should i get it? Consider im upgrading mine from a 15inch steel rim to a 16inch alloy rim. How much is the price for 16inch rim tyre usually if i decide to change in the future?

I know that last time Honda CityE spec (before facelift) is using 16inch tyre as well, so i think maybe it’s ok to get a 16inch rim also?
*
for maintenance wise 15" tyre is cheap... 16 and 17" tyre price jump alot.. you can check online..
i rather stay 15" compared to upgrade 16"... either 15" or 17". . for 15" 250/pcs tyre can get very good above average (hankook/bridgestone/michelin etc)... for 17" rm350 or above only able get above average . . rm250 only able get those average or value tyre like those neuton/maxxis etc..

H.City uses 4x100 PCD, H.Civic uses 5x114.3 PCD. Hence their rim can't fit into ours.

You can either source Honda City 15/16 inch alloy wheels OR go for Aftermarket wheels such brand like Enkei, Lenso, Advanti and Konig. (If you want to go for replica then I suggest you just go for Honda Original 15/16)

Spec you can look for is 15x6/6.5/7J (Width), ET (Offset) 35-53 for the rims. Of course the wider the rim, the more tyre choice is supported. You can PM me on the side and I can guide you on purchasing your rim biggrin.gif
Honda Sri Utama, Setapak.. Although, I stay all the way at Shah Alam πŸ™ˆ cuz I got my car at Sri Utama so it's better to go back there

Imho, most of the new SC have the customer waiting area situated next to the service bays separated by large windows. Belux Kepong is built this way, is where I service my car usually. Haven't yet tried other SC so cannot really compare.
Sri utama is near my work place maybe will try it next time but it seems very busy.
*
i heard that, but sc which i go dont have this design or layout.

QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Jan 24 2019, 06:25 PM)
So far the SCs I go to has windows but the work area is faaaarrrr away to see clearly. But none has allowed me to go to work area and watch them service. I done that in Proton SC but cannot with Honda.

Nope no windows, I just walk out and go to the service bay. Sometimes even chat with the guy who's servicing my car.
*
i service my car like 6 time in same sc... if i said iwant to see they accompany me short time la, but they wont let me wander around.. got SOP and safety standard i guess...
actually i think they dont let cust go cz alot of bad thing happen behind also de..
my dashcam sometimes they didnt off, i recorded few time mistake..
one time happen to me when they fill pipe water to radiator without my concern and i complaint to hq.
There is one time they jack an Accord with hydrolic, once up and stop, one of the jack leg not in good position the car fell to 1 side and not in good position(3 of the leg in position and 1 of the leg out from the base position, then i think underneath of the car sure damage.. then they release back the car on the ground and put back the jack machine leg below the car and jack it up again..
lol..

QUOTE(babylon52281 @ Jan 25 2019, 11:22 PM)
Some will say fuel A is good, some will say fuel B is better, some will say fuel C is best. Not many realised that different road conditions and distance plus driving style also factors into how each fuel behaves and FC. "Lighter" fuel may give more sense of power and better response while returning worse FC. Vice versa also applies, and those in between doesn't have any outstanding results to stand out.
*
about fuel, i have did some comparison previously with few week same petrol and same routine road...
Tried for outstation as well. I not sure is my own feel or someone agree or not. . Below is what i feel,
Shell = Best mileage, but abit weak, feel not so much power.. (in my old car i feel the engine abit quiet)
Petronas = Mileage less than Shell, but more than petron. Power in between petron and shell. (engine abit noisy for old car)
Petron = Feel power compared the other 2, but mileage most less. Engine is quiet in both car..

The engine sound is on my old gen 2, but for city no feel diff on engine sound. But performance wise and mileage applicable..
I tell my friend on this, but they mostly use bhp / caltex and shell. They agree on shell giving more mileage during outstation.
