why unifi turbo 300mbps plan is not listed in their website? Can only see RM129/100mbps as highest speed
Probably coming out next year once they've got the whole turbo process under control lol.Unifi Official TM UniFi High Speed Broadband Thread V35, READ 1ST PAGE FOR TURBO SPEED INFO!

Someone should put up an advisory somewhere for torrenting lol.
Disable utp in your torrent client for maximum speed. It doesn't work as intended and is counterproductive in current times. |

QUOTE(Icehart @ Oct 20 2018, 03:41 PM) Padan mukak. For decades they were sucking on the government teat and offering the rakyat a pittance with regards to their offerings, delaying cheap Internet proliferation throughout the country with excuse after excuse, abusing the monopoly given to them and blocking any attempts to implement local loop unbundling which would have allowed other ISPs to use their last mile access to offer their own competitive offerings, which was especially prevalent during the DSL Streamyx era. New government comes in and they're exposed for the charlatans that they are. Two thumbs up to Gobind Singh. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 20 2018, 03:51 PM |

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Oct 20 2018, 08:15 PM) They could always break TM into two seperate companies. One company to handle Fiber/Copper wholesaling and the other to manage their own Internet offerings. Open up the last mile fiber/copper completely. But they won't because unlike other developed nations we don't have anti trust laws that would necessitate such a measure lol.Just like other countries did with their own primary telecommunications outfits to prevent monopoly. In the US, Bell got broken apart. In Australia, Telstra is about to be broken up.. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 20 2018, 08:30 PM |

QUOTE(poque @ Oct 20 2018, 09:38 PM) I've multiple times before i comment here bro, dont get me wrong...technician came check using speedtest thru wired can get 500mbps and also using their smartphone can get 300++ download speed. so my questions here since my own devices not capable to get that speed...should i downgrade? In that case go right ahead! You'll always have the option to upgrade to a faster packaged when they're maybe introduced next year and you upgraded your devices to support a higher speed. You get to enjoy a lower monthly cost as well. |

QUOTE(enriquelee @ Oct 22 2018, 11:12 PM) I am still at old package now. Rm 179 for the speed of 30mbps. If i were in your position i would either:-I Already got email say my package will be turboed. But I yet to receive sms about it. Shall I wait for the turbo then only down grade my plan? Or I should do it now without further delay? a) Demand a price reduction for the 30mbps plan. (30Mbps turboed to 300 Mbps for RM179 is still a ripoff considering the fact that there are those on the RM 139 bonanza plans that can get turboed to 300 right now) b) Downgrade to RM 129/100Mbps right away. I did this and got it the same day within hours. Was on a Rm139/30Mbps plan before this. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 22 2018, 11:18 PM |

QUOTE(fantasy1989 @ Oct 23 2018, 12:22 AM) You can't configure the BTU, but you can check whether or not the port is properly set to 1Gbps by plugging your LAN cable from your PC Network Card (that you know supports Gigabit Ethernet), into the 1st LAN port of the BTU.The head to your Network Adapter's properties panel and check to see what speed your Network Card is connected at to the BTU. If 1 Gbps then it is properly configured. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 23 2018, 12:42 AM |

QUOTE(thankyou @ Oct 23 2018, 11:17 AM) Gotten my upgrade from 100Mbps -> 800Mbps this morning. Right there with you, the biggest boosts i felt was the initial move from ... So, to rate it 1) 56Kbps -> 384Kbps - Streamyx Upgrade 2) 2Mbps -> 5Mbps - Unifi Upgrade 3) 28.8Kbps -> 56Kbps - Modem upgrade, no joke... one of the best! 4) 768Kbps -> 2Mbps - The speed boost is significant enough to feel it. 5) 5Mbps -> 20Mbps - Speed boost 1) Dial up modem TMNUT 1515 56.6kbps to Streamyx 4Mb ADSL - no longer did you have to wait for graphics and videos on sites to load. Pages pop up instantaneously. Biggest QoL upgrade ever to this day. 2) Streamyx 4Mbps ADSL to Unifi 30 Mbps - This was quite insane since the the upload speed went up 20x from 512kbps to 10 Mbps, so no longer would the internet hang if one of the many android devices in the house did the daily offsite backup to Google servers. From 30 -> 100 Mbps didn't really feel that much different. Only noticeable in torrents and 1440p/4k youtube. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 23 2018, 11:32 AM |

QUOTE(birain @ Oct 24 2018, 12:40 AM) anybody here got frequent disconnection on unifi using utorrent? been having that after disabling the 2 utp settings suggested by some user here? Disabling UTP will make traffic more congested on your network, and if your router or computer's network card cannot take it, will cause frequent disconnections. In your case it may better to enable it to control the traffic in your network.Try with and without it to confirm that UTP is the cause. QUOTE(amalost @ Oct 25 2018, 10:25 AM) Guys, where can downgrade the plan? Staff UNIFI Glo Damansara said only HQ can downgrade and said that TM Kota Damansara can downgrade but google shows that it closed already? Any near Bandar Utama can perform the downgrade The TMPoint at Uptown (Damansara Utama, not that far away from Bandar Utama) can handle downgrades and terminations. It's a fully empowered TMPoint.Only thing crappy bout that place is the chronic lack of parking space so you have to go with a partner to drop off. Otherwise you're forced to park at Starling Mall and walk a bit. Also come early. 9am if possible, since it's always full of people. I swear TM is making it more and more difficult to downgrade/terminate plans. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 25 2018, 07:15 PM |

QUOTE(kentangz @ Oct 25 2018, 06:12 PM) TL;DR Dayum, you hit the motherlode of turbos mate. 2013 – Streamyx 1mbps @ RM110 2014 – Streamyx 4mbps @ RM140 Jan 2018 – Streamyx 8mbps @ RM140 (free upgrade after unfair pricing complaint to MCMC) May 2018 – Unifi 10mbps @ RM129 June 2018 – Unifi 30mbps @ RM139 (Bonanza Campaign) 25 Oct 2018 – Unifi 300mbps @ RM139 Most people on the bonanza plan who subscribed in 2018 itself will never see turbo until next year at the earliest, according to the TMPoint person I spoke to when I first applied for the Unifi 30M/RM139 Bonanza Package in July 2018. This was in fact one of the reasons why I downgraded to 100M/RM129 in September the first opportunity I got. Didn't wanna pay extra for something I wasn't sure I was gonna get. QUOTE(soyusa @ Oct 25 2018, 08:45 PM) Yesterday went to TM Point CBJ around 5pm and changed my package from 30Mbps (RYE 2017 - RM139) to 100Mbps (RM129). This is how it should be for users on supported equipment. Got mine within hours of changing my plan to RM129/100M too.The staff mentioned all my existing equipment entitled one year warranty + free 600 minutes call (STD20) + two years contract + pro-rated billing , I'm okay with it. To my surprise, by the time I reached home an hour after left TM Point, my Unifi speed already changed to 100Mbps! Wow... so efficient meh? |

Anyone else on UNIFI experiencing completely borked connection quality to Australia this past few days?
Nearly a week ago it was pretty damn good (full 100/50 D/U and Low ping):- ![]() Today its quite horrible:- ![]() Both speedtests were done using the Telstra Perth server. I would appreciate it if others can replicate the tests, thanks. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 27 2018, 12:28 PM |

QUOTE(VeeJay @ Oct 27 2018, 05:18 PM) But as you can see that ping is not normal..The ping to Perth is usually sub 100 ms. 200ms is like the ping to US. Look at my sig for the typical ping to Perth before this, 62 ms without the use of VPN or tunneling tech. I think the routing to Australia is a bit messed up at the moment. QUOTE(th3game @ Oct 28 2018, 10:28 PM) CentOS Linux distro for testingGuaranteed to fully saturate your line and 100% legit. If you don't get full speed on this torrent something is wrong on your end. Be sure to disable any form of uTP or rate limiting on your torrent client, especially if you're turboed to ensure full speed. This post has been edited by solarmystic: Oct 29 2018, 05:22 AM |

QUOTE(winyap991 @ Nov 1 2018, 09:01 PM) Great article. 100Mbps is stupidly fast for most people already, even if you need to download multiple GB files. The ability to download 40+ GB and upload 20+ GB per hour is no joke. In one day you can nearly grab 1TB off the net. How many people have multiple TB arrays that need to be continuously filled everyday? |
