Too long, most peole here got the upgrade in a few hours. Unless in a few cases that require technician to come to your house. Even that, cs will already tell u during your visit at tmpoint. Even special case like mine, my order appear in the same day. I have gone to 3 tmpoint to push my downgrade.

If like that, you can do it yourself as long as you have the password of your unifi ID
*
no they need to send their technician, i cant do anything. My portal still show i'm on old package. Tmpoint said
they have to send their technician to change my router. I know a few people facing same problem like me, their system will show
require for technician to come before the speed will change.

Thanks guys; finally yesterday que almost 3 hours at TM Points Damansara Utama  rclxub.gif and have a long discussion...

1. Current package ? UniFi Advance 30Mbps (Monthly of RM179)
2. Current UniFiTV Ultimate (Monthly RM60)
3. Free upgraded somewhere early year to 50Mbps.
= All above causing bills RM200++

UniFi Package

UniFi Package too

So end up below;
4. Eventually my housing only copper so Max 30Mbps !!!
5. Can't upgrade to 100Mbps due to no.4
6. Don't want upgrade to UniFi Advance Pro 50Mbps @ RM199 !!!
7. Said to them better terminate lol..

after a while she's checking then the staff offer me 30Mbps + Ultimate (call @ flat 20 sen/min) at RM149 + 6% SST + 2 years contract  icon_rolleyes.gif  rclxm9.gif  ok lol but really inconvenience to find and get my butt to TM Points  doh.gif

U should push them harder. Someone here have the same problem like you. After push tm, tm offer him rm119 for 30mb.

Yeah but my package remain same? No offer at all?
*
did you go to tmpoint to downgrade your package to 100mb?

I am the same with you i think. Stay in high rise but with fiber infra.
Last Thursday, TM came to change my unifi from vdsl to fiber and give new BTU Modem.
Then today another technician came to activate my 100mb and give new router.

I was also promised the TURBO upgrade in 2 weeks after visiting Menara TM. Went there again after 1 week just to make sure. Finally on the day they were supposed to upgrade my line, on the phone they wanted to renew my contract which I didn't want. I rushed to Menara TM to warn them subtly not to renew my contract. Now, Order (Modify) created BUT will only be completed after another 7 days.

EXPECTATION = 2 weeks
REALITY = 3 weeks (hopefully)

This Thursday I would hopefully get the TURBO upgrade. Once again HOPEFULLY they don't play play. Still don't know why they would actually need to send a technician over. They keep emphasizing that because I'm getting 800Mbps and that's why it's more critical? Will there be a case where any equipment or any part of the infrastructure/ hardware outside my house does not support up to gigabit speeds?
*
probably because in their system, you are using their old router so they need to come and change the router and verify at least you get 90% of the speed before sign of.

All experts here,  I had been reading this thread for sometime after I had gotten by upgrade from Unifi to 500mbps.  Obviously,  500mps is not a guarantee speed depend on the Router types, Notebook wireless adapter type etc.
For my case,  I am getting the following speed for my devices:

Wireless Router:  Asus RT-AC58U

Wireless Speed Test (5G):

Mobile Phone Samsung Galaxy Note 8:  340 mbps (average)

Notebook Lenovo Thinkpad X series (older model):    140 - 150 mbps (average).  After reading a guidance thread,  I bought a USB 3.0 wireless adapter (Tenda U12) and tried, I see no improvement in download speed.

My question is, why my laptop download speed is so slow comparing to my mobile phone?      I did use a LAN cable (Cat 5e) and tried the speed test,  it's even slower than the wireless speed.  Quite weird right?
*
probably because your laptop dint have gigabit ethernet lan, just normal 100mb ethernet lan

His laptop got only WiFi 2.4GHz.
Galaxy Note 8 is connected to WiFi 5GHz.
Tenda U12 is probably also set to 2.4GHz.

im talking about his lan speed

how many hour/days taken to upgarede ur speed? i just went to tmpoint this morning.apply for 100mbps from 30mbps. now @7.16pm still old speed.

If your unifi dont require technician to come, it should be done in a few hours only. But if technician need to come, usually cs will inform you at tmpoint. Anyway just login to unifi portal. Go to my activity. You should see order number if tmpoint already submit your order. If there is no order, either they dint submit your order yet or your area didnt support 100mb (usually because high rises area using vdsl)

QUOTE(pokchik @ Oct 9 2018, 04:28 PM)
5 minutes was the time taken by the installer when they came to my house for upgrade from 10Mbps to 100Mbps when i re-contracted for Unifi 100Mbps BEST.
i asked the installer whether this can be done remotely, he said actually can - but some users do not understand about speed limitation/capability for wired vs. wifi vs. 2.4GHz vs. 5GHz
thus the instruction for 100Mbps BEST is also for installer to come over to answer any questions from the customer. laugh.gif

so the rumours saying that their system/network not capable for Turbo upgrade was also hogwash/i.e. not relevant?
something about TM's infra & system not capable to sustain 800Mbps because of certain 'limitations'.
*
in my case, they came to give me new router with dual band capabilities before upgrade my line. So good for me hahaha.
