i hope so. coz when he didnt do anything, makes me feel like i'm not progressing enough. and i wonder if the wire is still working. coz i haven't change the wire at all.

I did ask him tho, he said, my teeth is still sore, and he doesnt wanna hurt it too much. ooh well, he knows best.

No worry on the extraction, my friend did extact wisdom tooth by Dr How on 3 weeks ago. Morning extracted, afternoon can eat as usual. She said didn't feel anything during the extraction but she just take one tab of pain killer provided by Dr. How. When the anaesthesia is over, she also didn't feel anything pain..

Added on May 13, 2010, 2:27 pm

It won't la.. Most of time, the cotton can throw after 1~2 hours of extraction. The wound will stop bleeding.. Just don't "suck" internally within 48 hours will do..  I believe you able to attend wedding dinner without problem if your extraction is on morning or noon time.
You know, i had serious "operation" to inplant 2 tooth, whereby Dr. How inplant 2 screws into my gum and sew back the wound on phase 1. Surprisingly, I didn't feel any serious pain after the anaesthesia. Just as usual and didn;t caused any uncomfortable.  May be due to new medicine of anaesthesia or skill of Dr. How ?  I don't know..

So, guys.. Don't worry on extraction of tooth la..
*
kent, why have to put screw into gum?

bracket come off won't charge as long as u still keep it. if u lose the bracket, then need to charge.

i'm using oral-b. recommended by dr. how, because it's non alcoholic. i forgot how much i bought per bottle, stock up a lot at home during promotion.

Added on May 19, 2010, 1:19 pmi just came back from dr. how's. i walked in n waited for less than an hour. surprisingly, faster than with appointment, hahaha... settled my lose bracket and changed the wire for lower jaw.

anticipating for my wisdom tooth extraction next tuesday!
*
got picture?

cause for the last 2 months, i bought the mouth rinse from the ortho center itself. rm35 per bottle. each month use like almost 1 bottle 0.0

*
haha. not really. but it has to be extracted anyway cause it has decayed. sweat.gif
the ortho already told me which four teeth need to be extracted, but im still waiting for final instruction.

plus, i have underbite problem, so most probably the two of my lower teeth need to be first extracted before the top ones.

*
Not really.
The ortho just changed my upper wire, and then when i asked when will the teeth be extracted, she answered me - "we will tell you"

I think it's only applicable for wisdom tooth extraction with surgery.
*
May I know the cost of the surgery?

QUOTE(karynkhoo @ May 27 2010, 08:02 PM)
Conventional braces normally require extraction, while self-ligating ones do not require extraction in most cases. The payment can be done in installment basis so it won't be a too heavy financial burden for you.

Many of my friends also said that I do not need braces. You should know your own need. If you think you need the treatment, you should go for it. I believe most of us here did or are doing braces with no regret.
*
My friends and relative also said that I don't have to do braces and there's no problem with it.
I think it's because I'm hiding my teeth most of the time so they dont really see the problem.

QUOTE(tomatonz @ May 28 2010, 10:00 AM)
If you feel you need to get braces, just do it! Some people dont understand why we get braces... dah la mahal, take 1.5 - 2 yrs somemore... and plus working adult lagi... but the result will be worth it... i just started wearing braces... i regretted for not wearing it earlier but cannot complain la, budget didnt allow it... but now ok la pay by installment... so not that "parah" sangat... but i really cant wait until the day my braces kena take out... hehe...
*
I also regret didn't do it earlier le. doh.gif
It wasn't about the money issue, more like self-contemplating.

This year, I made it my resolution and I did it!!! thumbup.gif
It's always the hardest to kick-off something.

Added on June 5, 2010, 12:57 pmSo, lets encourage one another!!

Haha. When are you planning to get married?

I think can ask the ortho to remove the braces for 1 day or so... then glue it back (with charges of course). I read in Kim Ong's blog - she did so. LOL.

i was trying to find it in watson and guardian but failed to.

any idea where i can find it other than the orthodontic clinic itself?

thanks.

Yes, very difficult to find. Whenever i see, i will stock up a few. Previously i bought from Guardian at Desa Sri Hartamas. U can also try Caring Pharmacy at Bangsar Village. I remember seeing it there before.

NikkiDaTeddy: Oh your treatment came quite fast ya. Unlike mine, so far it has been 2 months wearing upper braces and only had 2 teeth extracted. Maybe cuz everyone's teeth condition is different and the treatment needed also different. However I will try to be patient... susahnya... haha... Oh yeah I read back your older posts where just had your braces, I think I am going through the same emotions - excited and wanted the teeth to move fast and see result instantly haha...

Sorry for the ugly pics but just like to share maybe there are people who can relate to me to share their treatment journey... smile.gif

i will be extracting two teeth (one up, one down) next week and im quite worried. just afraid that the end result is not satisfying... sweat.gif

Hi den,

In between the front tooth and "tiger tooth" got another tooth that has been pushed inside. Doctor said, let the tiger tooth move backwards then only will put bracket on the tooth that you might not be able to see now (between front and tiger tooth) then pull it out...

I have 2 more teeth to extract.. I am scared too haha...
*
so you are extracting 4 teeth in total? same here. cry.gif

i scared after extracted 4 teeth, will it then make my side profile weird. cause now actually my teeth all ngam-ngam. no overcrowding.
after losing 4 teeth, sure the mouth there will go "in" right? sweat.gif sweat.gif
