I have a question though. I've only used the OP6 with a single sim, how much extra drain can you expect using it dual-sim? Lesser SOT by an hour or so lidat?

Asking because I'll actually do the whole twin sim dance next month while I trawl around over yonder in the Land of Moon Runes and Takoyaki.

And yeah, I checked the bands edi. Should work okay on paper, but not sure how well it would work in practice though.

Just updated to the November security update...loving the UI...much smoother and quick switch from apps to apps by swiping up to the right is simply brilliant.....

TBH it's 2018 and there's still a lot of conflicting information about the true nature of what is "good" and "bad" about batteries so I can't say I blame you for being unconvinced.

For me, if not for that little Honor 8 battery incident I wouldn't have cared either.

Even more so that you change phones often. On my end I guess I'm more of a buy once use until break in half type of guy so its probably a bit more relevant to try to stretch the cell lifespan like that.

We have in display fingerprint sensors, triple rear cameras, we even have nearly bezelless phones but nobody can confirm whether our smartphones are smart enough to handle overnight charging or not #facepalm

Your battery life sounds normal to me if you could still get 5 1/2 hours to 7 hours SOT. Im not sure if Mihan has this policy of replacing a worn out battery. Samsung does as I have changed my Note 8's battery quite recently but it was a known defect on the Note 8's battery. Never heard of this on the oneplus 6 though.
*
Yup it's normal but I used to get even better battery life.
I've contacted their technician and they said battery if still under warranty can let them check and replace. So I'll just bring it to them next week and see how it goes.

To be fair, I do think 2018 cells are smart enough to be overnight charged lol. I do it all the time.

It's just that I don't think phone Manufacturers are motivated enough to make phones that have sealed batteries that are charge limited to 90% of their "actual" capacity (or in other words taking a 3600mah cell and artificially limit it to 3340mah) for the sheer sake of cell longetivity (vs runtime).

Unfortunately, for a 2/3-year cycle upgrader like me that's a bit of a pickle TBH, hence my choice to limit charges to 90% - even if the science behind it isn't entirely mainstream.

Actually, the Zenphone 5Z actually comes with something very similar to a "charge limiter" as part of the AI Charge feature - probably the only modern (kinda sorta) "flagship" to even attempt this AFAIK.

Which is rather fascinating to say the least.

I'm still wondering about dual-sim battery drain though. Any input folks? Is it considerably worse then running single-sim or no real impact?

Dual sim does increase battery drain for sure. I was testing umobile sim in June & my standby time decreased quite a bit.

Yes. Around 10-20% depending on coverage. Your phone needs to constantly search for 2 networks the whole time and hence the increase in battery usage.

Used to update my op6 using oxygen Updater to android pie and android 9.0.1,but I noted that I'm still stuck with sept security patch. Tried to update the phone using normal method (via phone update in setting), but it says that "the system is up to date". I'm using my set btw. It is normal? 😔

Guys, I am planning to get a OnePlus 6 import set A6000, will there be any issue with the band ? 4G+ works perfectly ?

I saw 1 seller on Shopee selling @RM1749 for 6+64 Mirror Black A6000, is it okay and good deal ?

Thanks

3 lesser bands on the A6000 butnwont affect usage on Malaysian networks. Get the 8Gb 128gb though, for a mere rm150 extra. 64gb is not futureproof enough.
