😅 Eh.. That's rise my doubt should I open my or just sell it.. Haha.. It's brand new given by huawei official + vip card on. I'm just kinda doubtful about the performance on long run as I read about AI chip actually will learn user's daily activity and optimize accordingly.

Is camera important to you? This is the only strong point for p20.

If no, sell and buy op6t.

I do occasionally take photos tho, now am riding with my OP3 camera with snapseed. One side question, how much would a BNIB set of P20 with VIP card worth these day?

That's what Huawei say but I have my doubt. It could just be a simple memory page counters and memory garbage collection at work and they call it AI. doh.gif

Haha I would say sell both away and upgrade to something with at least 6GB RAM like OP6T? hehe

In fact I was having OP6T in my mind right before this P20 comes into my play. Afterall, it was a prize from contest. laugh.gif Looks like let go is another option. But I aint sure what are the price for P20 now.

You can check Garage sales section. If it's unopened, can fetch more price I guess.

Coming from OP3T, I'm pretty satisfy with my P20.. overall performance P20 lead in many ways that OP3/3T, especially on camera parts. Having P20 for my travel trip, was more that enough to get great shot.

Heyho! Finally some light shed! rclxm9.gif
So how do you find with the performance compared with OP3T that you previously owned? I mean like minus 2GB of ram, does it impact anything on ur daily drive? For me, I particularly more on social media like FB, Insta, Whatsapp, emails. Occasionally movie & photography during travel. And does the EMUI system learned you're pattern after sometime you've been using it? Man I'm curious to know. laugh.gif

We are discussing performance as in how fast and smooth the phone functioning? Not the camera image quality etc.

Having said that OnePlus' Achilles heel is the camera. But I like the Oxygen OS. Very fast and smooth. I don't remember it ever stutters in my OP5T.

Well, for my usage with some ML gaming and heavy social apps, so far no problem, I can minimize games and do messaging and browsing the reopen without reloading. Idk if open few games will make a different as I don't do that in real life.

Idk also if EMUI learn anything about my usage but pretty much experience similar as I just got this phone out of the box, no slow down unlike those Samsung's or LG's.

You can tweak ui transition under developer mode (i did for most of my phone) to 0.5ms then you'll feel your phone become faster. As we're discussing Sd820/821 vs Kirin970, and Kirin970 is newer but doesn't mean Sd820/821 is slower or vice versa. Both are indeed very great phone, end up based of user preference which to pick.

Already set to 0 ms. sweat.gif It's the rendering of the screen not in sync. I think it's EMUI. I used to have P10 and I remember it's smoother than this.

I'll give it another week to test.

BTW how do u guys turn off vibration notification in FB messenger? The setting menu does not have the option.

0ms is overkill for me, I still wanna see the transition where possible to appreciate the smoothness.
I straight use Pixel Launcher and Nova Launcher upon receiving my P20. Only sometimes change back to EMUI.
IMO EMUI is way smoother than Pixel/Nova Launcher for normal usage. Just I love Nova simplicity and Iconpack, so nothing much to say about EMUI.

I don't use FB messenger that much, most of group I muted. And I rarely check messenger.

No such thing as overkill when using Oxygen OS..or even Sony dated skin. Everything is instant and in sync.
Even I set 0.5ms in P20 Pro, the rendering is not consistent. It's like you can see two separate animations and one is lagging behind the other. Not smooth at all.

Maybe I should switch back to EMUI launcher and test. I doubt it will make a difference because the underlying is still EMUI regardless of which launcher we use. Launcher is just the home menu.

My main gripe with EMUI launcher is down swipe at home will not execute dragging down the shortcut menu. Instead it will show the Google search bar. doh.gif

BTW what's your EMUI version?

Yeah, that's gonna down to user preference. Some may experience smoother than other or vice versa. Can't say much about that.

My EMUI version is 8.1, build eml-l29 8.1.0.159(C636) GPU Turbo.

Those stutters that I am experiencing may have to do with it. Luckily it has no serious bug yet. sweat.gif

Think even though firmware is out on firmware finder, will take another 1 more month before OTA reach us.

Hm. Guess 4GB does do well with P20 then, lucky I'm not heavy game, the only game I have is clash royal for time killing purposes. laugh.gif

Mind if I ask what kinda of SP are you using right now? I'm hunting casing right now. laugh.gif
