Hello guys! Guess I'm late to the party Anyways, I gotten a P20 from a contest, and I'm currently using OP3 so I planning to swap over.

I was wonder how do P20 perform in daily usage in term of app management and hows the performance like.

Asking so is because OP3 has 6GB or ram and P20 only 4GB, so I wonder hows the RAM management in EMUI vs AOSP.

😅 Eh.. That's rise my doubt should I open my or just sell it.. Haha.. It's brand new given by huawei official + vip card on. I'm just kinda doubtful about the performance on long run as I read about AI chip actually will learn user's daily activity and optimize accordingly.

I do occasionally take photos tho, now am riding with my OP3 camera with snapseed. One side question, how much would a BNIB set of P20 with VIP card worth these day?

In fact I was having OP6T in my mind right before this P20 comes into my play. Afterall, it was a prize from contest. Looks like let go is another option. But I aint sure what are the price for P20 now.

So how do you find with the performance compared with OP3T that you previously owned? I mean like minus 2GB of ram, does it impact anything on ur daily drive? For me, I particularly more on social media like FB, Insta, Whatsapp, emails. Occasionally movie & photography during travel. And does the EMUI system learned you're pattern after sometime you've been using it? Man I'm curious to know.

Hm. Guess 4GB does do well with P20 then, lucky I'm not heavy game, the only game I have is clash royal for time killing purposes.

Mind if I ask what kinda of SP are you using right now? I'm hunting casing right now.

Been using P20 for 2days, I can stay that the power mgmt is awesome. With only 3400mah, I can easily clock 3hrs SOT with 14hrs usage and there's still 50% battery left

Hm. Looks like I'm also having P20 battery (or perhaps reading) issue, experienced it last night where by the phone prompt that 15% batt left, and I din't bother and keep using it until 5% left and got auto shutdown. And no, I didn't turn any power saving mode.

I think I gonna perform a full factory reset when I'm free later and see how it goes again since I've emptied the battery and recharge it to full, consider that a battery reset.

P/s: Coming from AOSP rom background, I always don't put much faith in incremental upgrade like this.

Guys.. Anyone used Ringke Invisible Defender SP here? If yes, mind if you give some review?

Not sure if it's related, but I got the same problem as u after upgrade to EMUI 9 from 8, and my FB apps also giving weird problems (play / pause button didn't show up randomly, tried clear cache, uninstall and install fresh copy). Not to say also, 10GB of storage gone after installed EMUI 9 via OTA.

So I give my phone a full reset today, and surprisingly all problems mentioned above seems gone after that. I just full drained the batt, now charging it up for a full reset and I'm gonna see how it gonna behave few days later.

You may if you have the time to do. Btw, a quick feedback here after all the hectic tasks performed. I got like a 3% drain over the night (on full data mode, from 1130PM - 7AM this morning). Looks good to me.

Was from OP, AOSP based rom previous so every single update I did was clean flash. Still not use with OTA type of upgrade, kinda dirty flash to me.

You actually can use HiSuite to back all your stuffs in your phone before perform a clean wipe then restore it back again once the format is done. HiSuite works just like iTunes backup / Xiaomi PC Suite. It helps alot tho, of cause it cant compare with Titanium backup la.

Nova do well on my P20 tho.

Hey guys.. Esp P20 user, mind if you share what kind of screen protector you're currently using (and you think its the best fit for you)? Can't decide wanna go with film based or tempered glass..

Thanks for the input man.. Currently I'm using the cap palang from the case I bought and its really meh. Not full screen nvm but still have the white edge. I think I will go with Nillkin CP+ and see how it goes 1st.

Hm.. Anyone have any idea how much a 3 months old P20 worth right now? I'm considering to let go my unit but ain't sure about the current market price.
