since u have no knowledge on how to do it....i suggest starting with something alot simpler.... a simple high-off-low switch.

what this basically does is switch the voltage going to the fan..so if u put it to 12v..itll get full speed and if at 5/7v ull get the low speed... the lower the volts, the slower the fan.

taken from Cliff's Fanbus

12v/7v switch

12v/5v switch

wat u need is an on/off/on switch. wires and all necessary connectors to connect it to ur PSU and fan. heatshrink/electrical tape bla bla bla...(All this u can get in Jalan Pasar)

this is VERY easy to do..and i successfully did a few when i had ZERO soldering knowledge. its just a matter of following the very simple diagrams in the link and u have urself a fan controller.

FYI, i made this to control my 1x12cm and 1x8cm Delta FFBs and alot of other noisy fans i used to have in my case.
EDIT: i had 1 switch controlling the 2 FFBs and 1 more switch controlling around 4 fans.

point to note: whatever fan ur trying to control, ensure that they are able to run at 7v or 5v (whichever one ur planning to do). reason i state this is because in the case of my 4x 12cm Delta FFBs, only ONE of them can work at 5v. the other 3 wont, even if i give it a 'kick start'. but ALL of them can work at 7v.

Nope, it's easy. Finished it just yesterday, works perfectly fine and the total cost for the components are cheap too. Got everything from a shop in Jalan Pasar (except the molex). And well, you surely need basic soldering skills which you've probably learned in KH classes.
=) Good for controlling noisy fans...

Attached Image

If you don't wanna take the risk of making it yourself, I saw bombman's 1 channel fan controller which is very nice. Can ask him if he makes them for sale.

Totally agree, won't b easy to solder things to the board when u don't plan it properly b4 hand. Also, have to make sure to cut stuffs to suit and most importantly, avoid short circuit since ur casing is very conductive.

Wht probably u mean is voltage regulator. The common one is LM317T which can provide up to 1.5A. There r also 3A & 5A ones.

Wht's an adjustable transistor¿ Think u mean variable resistor (VR). If the fan's current rating is higher than that of the VR definitely cant withstand lah
