Hi guys I need a confirmation here.

The due date of my card payments is on 23rd of every month. Just called MBB CS regarding the payment date and was told as below:

If a transaction is made between June 3 - July 2, the due date for this transaction's payment is July 23.

If a transaction is made between July 3 - August 2, the due date for this transaction's payment is August 23.

Is this correct please?

What if I make a purchase on July 2, but the merchant captures the payment on July 10? Will the due date be on July 23 or August 23?

Aug statement lor

the posting missed the 3 Jul statement. so, it falls into next cycle, which is 3 Aug statement

Got it now. Basically it depends on the date the transaction is posted to my account but not the date it is carried out, am I right?

Anyway guys, if I use Boost to make payment for my online purchases (by opening boost and scanning the barcode), will I be eligible for 5x TP of amex?

Yes you are right. Agoda changing different currency is for display only. When it come to payment, it charges your credit card base on your credit card holding currency. If your card issued in Malaysia Bank, it will automatically charge in MYR.
*
I don't think so. My sister has been using my card to book flight and hotel on Agoda. All the transactions are billed in SGD.

Use CDM.
Or Interbank Fund Transfer from other banks portal
*
That will instantly add extra to my current credit limit right?

For instance, there is a rm6000 authorization hold on my credit card and the credit limit left is rm10k now. If I deposit 6k to my CC and spend 1k, the current credit limit will become 15k, and the outstanding balance will be only rm1k when the 6k authorization hold is captured by the merchant. Am I understanding it correctly? When I spend a part of the 6k advance payment, I will still be getting treatpoints right?

Guys; I have 300k TP...
What is the best usage for these TreatPoints?
Should I redeem them for a RM500 phone from Harvey norman?
I recall a guy who spent 1million of his TreatPoints converting them to AEON vouchers and got scolded by our sifus for wasting his TP in this manner... Lol

To me airmiles is the best... Aiming for two business class tickets to hokkaido through SQ by dec next year lol. The rest of the rewards are just so-so.

If I pay 5k extra to my cc and make the outstanding balance -5k, will cash withdrawal of the 5k through the cc be handled as cash advance by mbb? or i can withdraw the 5k without any fees and interest?

If the TP has already been credited to my account and redeemed into krisflyer miles, but the transaction got reversed later, what will happen? I currently have a transaction that is in dispute. Not sure if a reversal will be done later.

Did anybody successfully dispute a transaction? I initiated a dispute and requested a chargeback on one of the transactions that I made last month. Got the acknowledgement email from mbb but have not received any updates from the bank.

However, I just noticed that the transaction has been deducted from the 'total spending' section in my m2u account. Does this imply anything?

it should reflected in the transaction history as well, wait for another day if you saw the available credit limit increase as well

The transaction was posted to my account and had shown up in the transaction history about 20 days ago. The reversal is yet to appear on my account statement. Will wait for one more day since tomorrow will be the statement date. Thank you for your reply.

Yeah. Gonna make the payment if MBB does not reverse it by September 23. If the dispute is successful, I will still get the money back. If it is unsuccessful, still need to pay eventually. No difference pun rclxm9.gif

i don't get you, once you saw the credit in the transaction it should be as a payment as well unless it is over the 20 days from statement date, else even though they charge you with finance charges, you still can appeal to waive that finance charges because during the 20 days interest fee period the total credit amount is same as the previous month statement total, they can't charge u extra finance charges, i already got many cases for AF late waiver that charge me finance charges the following month but all appeal successfully.

PS: just need to make sure the reversal is before 20 days of the statement, else you need to pay that extra charges within 20 days before they reverse for u
*
Er I don't quite get you.

Transaction date = August 12
Statement date = September 03
Statement due date = September 23

If the transaction is not reversed by September 03, I will need to make the payment for the transaction by September 23 right? If the transaction is reversed by September 03, it means that I will not make the payment. What if the transaction is reversed after September 03, like on September 4/5/6/7/8/9?

if the reversal is between 3-23 Sep then should be alright, you can appeal for finance charges if really there is any on next statement, else before 23 Sep you still can't see the reversal, then just pay for the dispute transaction, if the dispute amount is quite big then later on just top up to BP and withdraw from there
*
This is what I am planning to do too. Anyway, says the transaction is RM20k and I have paid RM18k, meaning that the outstanding balance of this transaction is RM2k. If a reversal is made later, my CC outstanding balance will be RM18k right? How am I going to withdraw the RM18k instead of parking the amount in my CC?

no choice u need to park there and slowly cash out unless you want it fast, just call CS to ask for the status cos you face this problem as the amount is quite big
*
I called the CS for an update on the status of the dispute but he didn’t have any idea about it. Im planning on calling the CS again once the reversal is made. Just cash out the extra balance like how we do cash advance and request a waiver of the interest and processing fees.

I think it's faster if you dispute with the vendor than  bank. Have you tried that? They just need to reverse the charges.
*
I had done that on the day right after the transaction was made. The vendor refused to issue a refund. Instead, he asked for my alipay’s login credentials. Then I went ahead to dispute the transaction on paypal but unfortunately it is not under the buyer protection scheme. Paypal can’t do anything on that.

Shady vendor. No reason to ask for your credentials.

PayPal.....Do a websearch and look for feedback

Ok I guess you have to rely on the bank. Sounds difficult to me since it's not credit card fraud.
*
I dealt with the vendor several times and there was no problem. Didn’t see this coming.

The vendor requested me to send him quite many infos such as a picture of me holding my driving license (with full name being shown) and a picture of me holding a paper saying that i was the person who made that transaction. These are all going to be used to fight back the dispute if I file it as a fraudulent transaction.

Since he sent me only CNY 1.01 for what I paid, I just reported it as non-delivery of goods/services. Talked to the CS of alipay multiple times and attached the screenshot of the CS saying that the vendor only transferred CNY 1.01. Actually I think that the chance of me getting my money back is kinda big.

Check if credit card offer any protection or not. I remember got but not a lot.

I think better push maybank harder for status.

Several times big or small amount? Small amount usually not worth cheating.
*
It’s 2 card amex and it does offer protection. I don’t think that pushing them can help since it is the dispute management team that handles all disputes.

One-time payment of rm15k+. That’s why i’m disputing the transaction.

QUOTE(avinlim @ Sep 2 2019, 08:12 PM)
I am just wondering can a person dispute his/her own authorized transaction done?
*
QUOTE(beLIEve @ Sep 2 2019, 08:23 PM)
That's why loh.

I think the platform where the transaction took place should be the one handling the dispute. Those involved with the CNY 1.01 also should get involved because they have the logs.

Bug maybank in parallel
*
Actually we can. I don’t know why but the banks in our country don’t seem to be interested in educating consumers about chargeback and transaction dispute.

You can dispute a transaction even if it is an authorized transaction, as long as it is not a friendly fraud.

Says you buy a brand new wallet online but the merchant sends you a roll of toilet paper or an used wallet or doesn’t ship anything, and refuses to respond to your query after the delivery is made. You have every right to initiate a dispute against this transaction with the bank and request a chargeback. The investigation will involve the merchant, the payment gateway, the acquiring bank, Visa/MasterCard/Amex/Etc, and other parties that might present in the transaction. All you need to do is to initiate the dispute, to submit all related evidences, and to respond to the issuing bank’s inquiries promptly.

QUOTE(tan_aniki @ Sep 2 2019, 09:44 PM)
or maybe you can ask the CS to transfer the extra credit in cc into your savings, i have done that b4
*
Yeah i will see how mbb handles my dispute first. If it is successful, then im gonna call the cs and see what they can do about the balance in my card.

Well, it totally make sense in your example case. But before dispute to bank, have you make the dispute with the merchant 1st? If its legit transaction and turn out that the merchant not delivering good or services that meet your expectation, you can always resolve with the merchant site 1st.
*
Yeap, the merchant doesn’t even bother to respond to me.
