I remembered that someone here mentioned that the RM 50 weekend cashback for Maybank 2 Card American Express per each cardmember is fully paid by American Express in USA, not Maybank.

Since the credit card interchange fee is now capped at 1.0 %, Maybank can use this interchange fee to pay for 5x everyday Treatspoints, even for weekend transactions.

As such, Maybank should not need to use its internal fund, to pay for 5 % + 1 % total effective cashback for weekend transactions.

However, why does Maybank still need to revoke 5x Treatspoints for weekend transactions, and 5 % cashback for weekend utilities and government bodies transactions respectively?
