Calculated my July cash back for Amex. Seems to be short of RM5, only reason I can think of is a Boost too up that was made on 7 July but only posted on 8 July. Anyone with the same scenario?

Hi, is the equivalent of 5x points = 1.25% cash back? Since i've already used up the Rm50 cash back fully on flight tickets, I'm contemplating if i should use my HSBC card that gives me 2%.
*
its only 1%

charge by RM at least u know the rate. other country currency is subject to conversion.
No extra charge by AMEX if RM. Dont use AMEX for overseas transaction. AMEX charge higher compare to Mastercard and Visa when conversion.
Frankly speaking, avoid use AMEX on overseas. The best is use Bigpay when overseas.
*
i think it depends on how the website converts, if they convert to a 3rd currency or to MYR and its similar to rates you see online, then worth paying with that option.

The transaction was posted to my account and had shown up in the transaction history about 20 days ago. The reversal is yet to appear on my account statement. Will wait for one more day since tomorrow will be the statement date. Thank you for your reply.
*
you may need to pay to avoid interest, then wait for them to reverse later on

the CS ask me to fill up the dispute form, all the while Maybank is follow the payment gateway time but the problem is those time is overseas, not Malaysia time.
By right Maybank Malaysia should follow Malaysia time as the transaction SMS also showing Malaysia time and date but the transaction in M2U shown overseas time and date.
Last time i also dispute this on Klook transaction and manage to get back the cb
*
if you could make the transaction later on saturday where the whole world is already on saturday, it would save the hassle of calling and filing the dispute.
in general and based of many past experience, its always following payment gateway time

I noticed that foreign exchange rate is quite high (2.5%)for AMEX card on overseas transaction. But, I will still get 5% cashback on weekend spending. That means I can earn 2.5% cb?
So if I’m in SG, Is it more worth if I use Singapore debit card to make transaction or Malaysia cc that can get cb?
Thanks!
*
if you haven't reached your RM1000 weekend quota, then use AMEX on weekends
