To me, this phone, I think Xiaomi only earns like less than 10% margin? haha I think it's damn worth d and is disrupting the market. IMHO, anything priced too close to Pocophone is not worth it, unless one must have AMOLED and/or NFC. Either go low budget (below RM800), or super high end (Samsung premium, above 2K). Anything in between, other than Pocophone, I think is not worth it.

I bought this phone for my dad. I only tried to locate myself indoor, no issue. Haven't bring it out to navigate yet.

I did not test it with gaming. But it does not have any issue with touch sensitivity, like my Sony XZ2 had earlier, before the latest update.

Most phones nowadays already have it. Only issue is, most phones cannot display the expected output in live view before snapping the pic.
BTW the F auto should be focus auto. What's so surprising? lol

I do not have the phone with me now but the only phone which has variable aperture is Samsung S9 series and Note 9. So, that should bury your hope lol.

Not really. Some of the issues are due to the wide notch and Mi8 has the same issue.

What I notice is, the SETTINGS font size is not uniform with most apps. It's much larger. If you set the font size to large (e.g. FB app font size is smaller), the font in settings will be too large.

Yes AMOLED in general is better. However, this is the part I do not understand. Each time a new Samsung S and Note series is launched, DisplayMate would test their display and likely Samsung will be awarded the best display in the market so far, based on the colour accuracy test etc. This is not surprising as Samsung is the state-of-the-art display maker. BUT, those who has been using AMOLED will notice the colour it hates is pure white. It just simply can't get pure white as good as IPS panel. In that case, how did they win the best display award? I think they excel in most parameters, but not pure white. It's like a sport cars can do everything but not normal town ride.

Eventually all screen protector be it film or glass also will be a fingerprint magnet. The coating won't last forever.

Not as straightforward. Let's compare with 6GB+64 for both models local sets: RM1237 vs RM1599.
At 29.2% premium over Pocophone, you gain AMOLED display, better camera, NFC and glass materials on body (will be covered by case anyway).

But you lose 4000mAh battery, dual speakers (not significant because the earpiece is much weaker), 3.5mm jack, and practicality (polycarbonate). Poco launcher is smoother and simpler as well.

The OS locked out some memory for itself.

I would say anything below 2K reso would look not as sharp as S8 panel. But then S8 has trouble with pure white colour.

Err... You spent so long to type these out but failed to recognise Note 8 is 2x the price of Pocophone now and almost 3x the price when it was launched?

Having said that, performance wise it's noticeable the F1 is faster, even day to day normal use.

Cannot go head to head with Note 9 la. You'll have hard time explaining the brand and why it is called Pocophone to your date.

Even specs also there are a lot of hardwares not listed in the sheet. E.g. Mic quality, button quality and material etc.
Having said that, it's hard to phantom why they are comparing with top end phones cost 3x the price. Lol
