lets talk about those malls which are so run down and empty that is on the verge of becoming a ghost mall. and give your reason why you say that. i start first.

jalan ipoh, mutiara mall.

it has its glory days. but those days are now long past. i think more than half the shops inside the mall already vacant. even lower ground floor many shoplots that sell more affordable meals also close down already.



honorary mention:
kompleks desa kepong. another mall long past its glory days. conditions is more or less at par with mutiara mall. walk in there and you will mistake you enter the mall too early in the morning since most shops are closed and lighting is dark.

Somemore next to it got SMP, also many students.

Dead long time ago but not demolished yet. Few months ago the management covered it up with tin walls to prevent further graffiti and vandalism.

I think so,it's the nearest place for them to lepak after school.

half of the retail business revenue already moved to ONLINE. lazada for instance.
developer who still keep building malls are real dumb! its extremely supply over demand. there must be new concept moving on..

yeah glory days during fajar time. then it went down hill ever since losing fajar. now the mall so quiet it is like visiting eCurve during 7am to 8am. dark, quiet, and a little creepy.

This one got Matahari supermarket so people still go

i think once mrt is up at jalan ipoh, probably will be game over for this mutiara mall when student can ride to other better mall cheaply with 50% discount.

Tropicana City Mall also kenot survive meh? Long time, few years didn't go jor.....last time quite happening though, coz 1U too crowded, no parking, and there is service condo there for biz.

now starling mall is stealing its customer because cheaper parking there i think, and it is newer with almost all shops open. meanwhile around 1/3 shops closed down in tropicana mall even though they seem to be trying to open more new restaurants there. as usual, food shoplot and grocery doing well but the rest not too good.

in Subang Jaya alone within 10km radius ada One City, Main Place, USJ19, Da men, Summit, subang parade, empire...excluding mydin, tesco, giant, etc.... then IOI puchong and Sunway are stone throw distance away...

Gem Mall in cyberjay.... there 2 malls in cyber; Dpluze and Gem mall and they are 2km away....

Search for Brands Outlet or Aeon stores. If up a bit search Padini. If more up, search G2000. If more more up, search Armani.

Most people when going to shopping will prefer big shopping malls.
After or before shopping sure need to go to restaurant too.
Big shopping malls have a lot of restaurant to choose.
Like the Sunway Velocity Mall.

Surprised people say da men is super fail mall. It's not super thriving but the 1st floor with all the food one doing quite well. Compare to usj 19 digital mall I think da men traffic is like x3

I think Da Men and Summit should just combine into one big mall..

Summit is a zombie mall even since they renovate.. but still people around go makan there.. my office is nearby..

The only survival for those new or cold malls is for dining or some activities. Other than that most of these malls got nothing to offer. Probably got crowd on weekdays from office crowd, then dead in the weekend.

last I go desa was early this month, still got JPN inside.. but very scary to step on those escalator.

I like to shop there too. Used to take my kids to playground at usj 19 now almost everything is closed down. Got papa rich, and kayu and 7-11.

I went there during weekdays before, the carpark is quite full and there are people in the mall.

I am not even sure that mall will complete it's construction or not.
Yet there is already skating rink inside.

these almost dead mall should offer gomen to open utc in that mall. only then traffic will increase.

but rent should be super cheap to to gomen
