LOL,now you did cat5e test and reset port, why not you just trust me again with buy new router?

Yes, it's expensive but that is only way to cover your 20x80 house with turbo wifi speed.
read above, he mentioned 20x80 house, normal 5Ghz range just 10-15 ft.

Do you think ipV6 causes the speed problem when he did the speedtest?
He is on ipV6.

Seeing got so many opting for 100mbps.. even some from 800 wanted to pay less for 100mbps..

Makes me wonder, do I need 300mbps? This is the way my house is using the internet

No more Astro,

Living room using mibox to run Astro go, parents and sister watching from astro go only. Sometimes Hypptv if watch NHK.

In my room, also watch astro go for on demand series. Some website drama streaming, iflix, playtv..  Mostly streaming.

Sometimes download torrent, ranging from 5-15GB .. movies..

I also backup photos to google drive. Upload is 50 vs 100mbps after upgrade.

I think that's pretty it.

So do you think I need 300mbps or 100mbps is more than sufficient for my use?

How much are you paying for your 30Mbps now?
What comes with this plan?

After turbo-ed 300Mbps + Ruby Plus @RM139

For the new 100Mbps + Ruby Plus + Voice @RM129

You pay RM10 less a month for slower speed but with voice.
Do you accept this trade?

Don't be blindsided by speed per se but cost to value and practicality.. At 100mbps, you will have absolutely no issues with streaming a few devices simultaneously, your surfing experience will be near similar between the speeds.. Maybe, you will need 3 more minutes to download something that would have otherwise took 1 minute at 300mbps...is that a killer feature you must have?

If you can live with that, 100mbps is more than sufficient for most people.. Plus you have 600 free minutes valued at 120 and for someone in the household who uses mostly prepaid mobile, that's a good value proposition..

So, only you know your needs and it is for those reasons that I took the 129 100mbps from 139 300mpbs turboed

It depends on your package and price you are paying.
For me, I am paying RM159 for 300Mbps + Ultimate Pack + Voice.

For the new 100Mbps + Ultimate Pack +Voice I will be paying RM129 + RM30 (Ultimate Pack) = RM159
Same price but slower speed.

I'll stick with my 300Mbps for now.

Bro, how did you get this package? 《RM159 for 300Mbps + Ultimate Pack + Voice》
*
Started with VIP5 + Voice + Hypp Tv basic @RM149

Free upgrade to Unifi Lite + Voice + Ruby Pack @RM149
I changed Ruby Pack to Jumbo Lite

Pay RM10 upgrade to 30Mbps + Voice + Ultimate Pack @RM159

Last month turbo-ed to 300Mbps + Voice + Ultimate Pack @RM159

Going to remove the Voice so that can save RM20.

If I have already receive turbo, of course I will keep 300mbps and won’t thinking about switching to 100mbps for a mere RM10 savings.

The thing is so many haven’t receive the upgrade while the higher speed plans are there for the cheaper. It’s just not justified for us who are waiting for the turbo which nobody knows for certain when will get it. The frustration!

Be patient and wait for it.
Treat it as yours is schedule for June 2019.
If you get it earlier, you got yourself a bonus.

Hi.

I'm a long time UniFi user. Just wondering if anyone has clarification.
My history is 30mbps signup, upgraded to 50 (free), now turbo-ed (free).

Should I be getting 300mbps or 500mbps?

Current speedtest shows 350mbps with ookla. Using dual-band DIR850L, cat5e lan / cat 6 lan cables.

Thanks!!
*
You should be getting 500Mbps.

Try use TM speedtest.

Thanks for responding. Already did, still hovering between 330 - 365, both OOKLA Speedtest and TM Speedtest.

However, I do acknowledge that they mentioned this is pilot testing phase, does that mean that my speed will be slower than 500 for a period of time?
My second suspect is that my DIR850 unable to support such speeds...

Will need to check further...
*
Since you did the Speedtest on LAN cable, the router is capable to run at 500Mbps.
TM always use that excuse when we didn’t get the turbo-ed speed.

hmm.gif True.......but a lot of people with WIN10 gonna complain about not able to get 500 or 800Mbps via LAN with their 'weak' cpu unless Microsoft deploys latest Intel microcode.  sweat.gif

Wow, now computers with Win10 also can be the bottleneck.
Difficult to tell them their computer not up to par, need to change biggrin.gif tongue.gif
