Router or BTU? You need to reboot the BTU, not the router icon_idea.gif

Not true. There are qos standards imposed my mcmc that tm have to adhere to, which is 30% reserve capacity minimum per OLT. Service only degrades for copper, not fibre..

So that means they cannot oversell their network? hmm.gif

SilentVampire You may want to add this icon_idea.gif

Certain routers may have significantly reduced network speeds (especially turbo speeds) when QoS (quality of service) is enabled in the router. You may need to turn QoS off in some routers if it is unable to deliver the turbo speeds icon_idea.gif

Also you may need to check whether the hardware acceleration option is enabled in the router icon_idea.gif

i can't get anywhere near 800mb using newly bought cat7 ugreen cable.
BTU to TP Link AC1200 to gigabit laptop both using cat7 cable

what could be the reason?

Check whether NAT Boost is turned on and QoS (Quality of Service) is turned off in your router icon_idea.gif

Got turbo-ed this afternoon, but the speed connectivity is very unstable.
Though the router im using is not capable to support 500Mbps, but i cannot even get bck my previous speed which is 50Mbps..
Mostly can only get download @ 30MB/s.. upload can reach max to 40MB/s..
*
Mb/s or MB/s? Bear in mind that both units are quite different icon_idea.gif

Mb/s = Megabits per second
MB/s = Megabytes per second

1MB/s (Megabytes per second) = 8 Mb/s (Megabits per second)

Thus, 30MB/s = 240Mb/s icon_idea.gif

Don't get confused by the two units icon_idea.gif

But it clearly says 300MBps, even write there N300.... 802.11n - 300Mbps...

Isn't 802.11n a wifi thing?
*
Again, MBps and Mbps are not the same thing sweat.gif

Also, very few devices do 300Mbps at 802.11n, and 2.4GHz is pretty congested these days icon_idea.gif

Note that 300Mbps is just the theoretical speed - the actual speed would be closer to 150Mbps or even lower depending on the obstruction, interference and the client's networking hardware icon_idea.gif

The 100Mbps WAN Ethernet port isn't helping it either icon_idea.gif

Just get a new 5GHz ac router - there are plenty of good ones out there, depending on your budget icon_idea.gif

this connect direct to ONU/BTU..only can get that speed.

CAT5e or CAT6? hmm.gif Also you must do this configuration:

ONU->Router->PC

not

ONU->PC directly icon_idea.gif

Make sure that both cables connecting the ONU to the router, as well as from the router to the PC are CAT6 cables icon_idea.gif

Well I do understand your frustration, the important rule when it comes to dealing with CS is never rage/angry at them no matter how disgruntled you are as this will not make CS job (i.e. to serve customers) any easier icon_idea.gif

Be nice and professional to CS agents, as the fact that CS is a very demanding and stressful job, and doing this will almost improve their morale and allows them to serve customers nicely. After all they work very long hours and they have to handle every single complaints from customers icon_idea.gif

This Arstechnica article shows why you shouldn't rage at CS agents (read comments if you need some more insight):
https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2017/11...ree/?comments=1

This Lifehacker article is pretty helpful too:
https://lifehacker.com/5917311/how-to-butte...t-what-you-want

In fact, being nice actually gets you good customer service:
QUOTE
Even employees who are openly hostile to customers can’t resist your smile, “pleases” and “thank-yous.” If you return their angry glares with pleasantness, you’ll get better service almost every time.
https://blog.mint.com/how-to/getting-better...rvice-03032011/

Also, important thing to remember - customer service actually involves both the customer and the agent, not just the agent himself. Hence it's important to work along and negotiate with the agent as much as possible, not just complaining to the agent icon_idea.gif

Haha. Of course lah.
You hammer them on their points or their claims.
They claim it is pilot phase but yet they dare to release new data plans that are cheaper and instantly activateable. While those of us who have been long standing customers are treated so shabbily with excuses of this upgrade phase is a pilot program and it is an automated system that picks which account to upgrade, well the fact TM can just activate the new 100mbps makes themselves look foolish. And all we get for our dissatisfaction is a plea for understanding, mere words. Then can I pay my next bill for unifi services with me words also? Come on. Public listed company, so-called jaguh kampung. Behave like a chump. TM, Telekom Malu.
*
This is not exactly CS fault at all - this is pretty much their policy (again, blame their management for this), after all you cannot blame CS for all of that icon_idea.gif

Again, if you are that unhappy why not just swap out the plans if you can (unless you are bound to a contract of course)? It's not that you don't have a choice anymore icon_idea.gif

That's why we cannot have nice things sometimes - those who are eligible (or not eligible) for the upgrade or the new plan will always complain about other things, I mean come on we already have reasonably fast connection at relatively low prices (compared to the old plan), and yet people will want to complain shakehead.gif

Also, those who have turbo upgraded may want to update the router's firmware and the client's Ethernet/wireless driver first if possible icon_idea.gif

The reason why I recommend updating the router's firmware is not just improving performance and reliability, but to fix critical security vulnerabilities as well which is very important considering there are plenty of high profile router exploits that target many consumer or even enterprise-grade routers icon_idea.gif

Facing the same issue here, same router but CAT5E and 500mbps, all i get is 94 mbps.

cat5e cables connected from btu to router and router to PC, same result 94mbps.

May i know what you mean when you mentioned used the wizard to configure?  I bolded the text
*
Might be an issue of copper-clad CAT5e cables, rather than pure copper CAT5e cables hmm.gif

JohnLai

Can you provide the make and model of the Ethernet cable, if possible? hmm.gif
