QUOTE(anfieldude @ Aug 24 2018, 02:20 PM) This I agree with. I hv a short 2m can cable that is labelled as cat5e but does not pass 100Mbps. But a longer 50m one that does...it's possible that the cable is not terminated correctly or is just bad. That's why I always recommend people to get a high quality CAT5e or even CAT6 cables (if you want to futureproof your network). I think AMP Netconnect is a good brand This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Aug 24 2018, 03:26 PM

Some important info: Those who plan to use CAT6 cable may not want to bend their cable too tightly: QUOTE Category 6 and 6A cable must be properly installed and terminated to meet specifications. The cable must not be kinked or bent too tightly (the bend radius should be at least four times the outer diameter of the cable[10]). The wire pairs must not be untwisted and the outer jacket must not be stripped back more than 0.5 in (12.7 mm). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category_6_ca...llation_caveats

QUOTE(boxsystem @ Aug 26 2018, 03:29 PM) Seems like Maxis is pushing TM to the edge. I wonder what's happening with TIME. All in all, it's all good for us, consumers. This is like Umobile pushing the big players all over again. Nice. Even though Maxis is using TM's infrastructure - it's good to see some competition in the fixed line broadband market IINM, TM sometimes uses Time's infrastructure for their UniFi turbo upgrade in some high-rise buildings where FTTH UniFi and Time are available

QUOTE(MGM @ Aug 27 2018, 08:28 PM) The 1st difference of rm189 n rm181 was probably due to prorated GST. U were charged rm136 because u have overpaid in advance for varnam which has been cancelled. Your varnam was probably cancelled 23 days b4 the latest bill of rm136. fruitee another one suceeded. fruitie Perhaps this is somewhat interesting...

QUOTE(lyc1982 @ Aug 28 2018, 01:22 PM) noob here but according to this specs listed on this page: https://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details..._Archer-C5.htmlit should be able to support till 867Mbps on LAN ? correct me if i am wrong Ethernet yes, but WiFi no as the real world throughput of 867Mbps ac WiFi is around 200-300Mbps You'll probably need 802.11ax/ad for that, but the range is so weak that you'll need something like a mesh setup. It might be much better to run CAT6 cables to your equipment

QUOTE(Icehart @ Aug 28 2018, 12:08 PM) If you check the reviews the AD7200 has an issue with maintaining a stable connection. If you really need to get the ad wifi protocol, I suggest wait for Asus to come out with similar offerings. Note: WiFi ad has a very short range, even shorter than 5GHz ac. https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2016/12/802...e-review/ad wireless are also much more susceptible towards obstructions, with simple objects like wooden doors can render the connection unusable. You'll need to put your device in line of sight of your router (similar to microwave frequency-based fixed wireless broadband) There's no devices at this moment to use ad WiFi as well It might be a much better idea to run a traditional Gigabit Ethernet connection instead This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Aug 28 2018, 01:38 PM

Unless the information is from Xefron or other reliable TM insider - all other supposed 'insider' information would be hearsay only

QUOTE(5p3ak @ Aug 29 2018, 11:07 PM) if they increase quota to 600GB or speed after quota reach to 10Mbps then maybe can consider  The 60GB data limits makes it no better than the new Maxis plan or even Streamyx 1Mbps - throttling down to 128Kbps after the 60GB (which is pretty much unusable for modern households these days) is just unacceptable in this age where the internet is somewhat a necessity, not a luxury This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Aug 30 2018, 12:53 AM

QUOTE(Icehart @ Aug 30 2018, 12:04 AM) Nothing TM, TIME or Government can do. Your choice is to complain to condo management and hold a JMB agenda to upgrade condo infrastructure to fiber. Probably the most practical answer here - the problem with high-rise buildings is there are always some management that refuses to upgrade their copper infrastructure to fibre due to various reasons Note that the management could have upgraded them if they wanted to, but one of the biggest issue is to convince the management to upgrade from cooper to fibre QUOTE(miloaisdino @ Aug 29 2018, 08:36 PM) VDSL on landed is existent, its for unifi lite (SUBB) service only. Developer responsibility is only to lay physical fibre/copper telephone line. VDSL or Adsl used on copper depends on what type of dslam TM choose to provision, not the developer. Still, both the management along with TM are responsible for the infrastructure within high-rise premises This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Aug 30 2018, 01:12 AM

QUOTE(SilentVampire @ Aug 30 2018, 11:17 AM) You can get a wireless USB adapter as a last resort instead of replacing your laptop if it is still working lol, but yes, it is a good excuse to get a new laptop. The police won’t bother as it is a civil matter, and TM is a private company, plus you have already agreed to the terms & conditions by TM when you sign up for UniFi. Worst still it's just a waste of resources and time. The police is meant for protecting the public, not as a mean of coercion

QUOTE(yvonnesoo @ Aug 30 2018, 11:35 AM) OT: i have think of it but my usb port support only 2.0. definitely will affect the speed right? sorry i'm noob in IT related stuffs  USB 2.0 will have a theoretical top speed of 480Mbps, and even with USB 3.0 and its 5Gbps speed, it won't be able to fully utilize 800Mbps turbo This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Aug 30 2018, 01:19 PM

A friendly reminder: Never harass or even threaten TM staff - it's not going to benefit anyone out there, and worst still it could be illegal and may end up in legal trouble. If you are not happy with the upgrade or even the service itself, always try to resolve with TM and reach a resolution if possible. If that doesn't work, you can always escalate the matter to MCMC - after all this is why we have MCMC for such complaints This post has been edited by chocobo7779: Aug 30 2018, 03:37 PM
