hi guys. the unifi basic plan - RM79 with 60gb quota, any idea what happen after 60gb? speed reduce (if so, whats the reduced speed) or need to pay for extra?
*
Speed reduce to 128kbps, the old days of dial-up internet. Maxis is better if you want to get 30mbps, RM89 unlimited quota.

Was at Maxis, CS mentioned that Unifi 300mbps with hypptv has reduced to $139
*
Not reduced. Basically you subscribe RM139 30mbps and slowly wait for turbo to 300mbps. But now I saw a few post back saying that RM139 is only for 2 years, after that back to RM179 or RM199.

What work? My contract just finished. And since Maxis now has RM129 for 100mbps, I want to know whether Unifi has plans to upgrade that Unifi Lite to the actual 100mbps in the future. That's it. If there aren't any, I simply will change to Maxis. I don't give a freak about lesser upgrade. I just want what I want to use.
*
Then one sure way is to subscribe Maxis. Because TM only said existing and new unifi subscriber before 31 dec will be turbo. it does not say that downgraded users will receive turbo.

128kbps.... Why lah TM want to limit to 60Gb, i dont mind paying another RM10 sad.gif

I saw quite a few complaints from maxis users (mainly on connection stability and customer service). Don't want to get stuck in a 2 yr contract, that's why doing some homework now.

Anyone here watch/stream movies and shows using China tv apps? Maxis better or Unifi?
*
As always, get your own router for best performance. A lot ppl complain on the router given which has very limited function and not stable. And customer service some will go to TM, especially issues related to port, BTU etc due to Maxis using TM's infra.

Guys the turbo is random, no point speculating account no, location etc. Meanwhile, chrischiang and samkian after a long day trying to find out, make sure you download the correct app in iOS. it is at this link:

looks like unifi lite (10mbps) is not in the pic for this pilot phase......

Actually UniFi lite no need pilot phase. 100mbps is achieveable, unlike current 100 to 800mbps.

jilaka tm.. the staff called me the next day saying the higher ups did not approve my discount application. Reason given? "because the account will be upgraded to 800Mbps" WTF it's the same for all 3 accounts except for the fact that 1 account is being charged much higher  bangwall.gif no use talking so much to the middle man (the frontliner staff who called me) since she got no power to do anything. according to the staff, the 'higher ups' instead offered me 50 Mbps for RM199 (excluding iptv). I declined the offer.

next step mcmc and probably another tm point outlet
*
Haha, or potong and sub lower package.

Myrepublic is preoccupied with their mobile business in singapore now.
Maxis is alr kicking their ass!

MSAP cost breakdown (per month)
Service Gateway (Layer 2 to maxis pppoe) Cost per Mbps: RM3.222 (uncontended)
Price per BTU and lastmile access: RM45
Installation: RM440 per btu (non-recurring), RM426 per service gateway (non-recurring)

Assuming contention ratio 1:25,
Cost of providing 100mbps connection, 24-month contract:
45 + 3.222*100/25 + 440/24 = RM76
30mbps = RM67
*
MyRepublic not coming anytime soon. YB Gobin said yesterday on BFM Breakfast, want to give chance for local players to compete.

If your area don't support 100mb then get Maxis. 30mbps symmetrical speed.

Im wondering if current 100mbps pro plan users such as myself who is no longer under contract could get our monthly prices reduced to RM129 until the turbo upgrade happens..

Pretty unfair for us to pay old price when we're no longer tied to the contract, no?
*
No way. you either stay and get turbo or reduce the price but no future turbo.

QUOTE(miloaisdino @ Sep 6 2018, 05:54 PM)
Thats an illusion. For streamyx tm alr ROI, also if u look at the old MSAP for local loop unbundling (which umno didnt enforce) its way lower than rm45/port. So theres no reason to keep the price liddat

Imo if nothing is done about streamyx users it isnt called a national connectivity plan, its a fiberisation plan. Gobind just pulling our leg
*
Well that is what it is, to slowly upgrade copper to fiber. Listen to this, skip and listen to the end part around 30 minute.

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Sep 6 2018, 09:01 PM)
My current unifi package is 50Mbps + Unifi TV = RM179.

Can I just go ask them to change my plan to this new RM129 plan? Considering this is an upgrade for me with cheaper price!

Meanwhile I am eligible for the turbo upgrade.

Should I wait for the turbo speed, or should I just give up and go for the Rm129 package? Dilemma here....anyone is in the same boat with me? LOL....
*
If 100mbps is enough, go for it. Save RM50 per month

QUOTE(wshoh @ Sep 6 2018, 09:06 PM)
Switching to Maxis at RM89 + paying RM25 to TM to retain phone will cost RM114 monthly, which is just RM15 savings but throws away the TV pack and gets me into a fresh 24 months contract.
*
If you really need the TV pack, it is worth to stay. Otherwise not bad even considerring Maxis speed for 30mbps is symmetrical. You can still use the STB as an android box though, but that is to be discuss in other topic which you can find in this forum.

QUOTE(jason18689 @ Sep 6 2018, 09:10 PM)
Hi guys.
Last week I went to make a complaint at MCMC and finally today I was given a call that I can proceed to apply for fibre. (Previously was my house area dont have enough ports).

One question, not possible to retain my current home number +603xxxxxxxx)?
During registeration, seems like I have to select a new phone number, and cant see any option to select retain existing?  Anyone of you able to retain it?
TQ.
*
Yes you can retain old number, I have done that. Go to tmpoint to apply upgrade your Streamyx to UniFi. If you straight away apply new Unifi and terminate Streamyx, it means you are cancelling your old number.
You can choose to migrate old number to UniFi, or keep the old number for RM25 a month. It is not free for keeping old number and get another new number, because now you can migrate the old number to UniFI.

QUOTE(jason18689 @ Sep 6 2018, 09:26 PM)
I see. Good to know that.

Anyway, required to terminate my streamyx before register for unifi pro?
In between, necessary to wait 30 days to avoid some kind of penalty?

So troublesome if the wait is needed! vmad.gif
*
Just apply for upgrade Streamyx to UniFi Pro. TM will install your UniFi and terminate Streamyx automatically once UniFi is installed, usually the same day.

QUOTE(hebe87 @ Sep 6 2018, 09:41 PM)
i swapped to unifi 5 years ago. back then, no need to terminate streamyx.
this is because unifi comes with new fiber wiring to your house(assume that you are staying in landed house), while you can retain your old copper wiring
my opinion is, only terminate streamyx and your unifi installation is done so that no interruption to your internet usage

after you get your unifi installed and terminate your streamyx, you will still receive 2 bills every month
1 bill for copper line - the sewa bulanan will be RM0
1 bill for unifi
*
Now the procedure is different bro. You can apply to upgrade streamyx to unifi, and upon unifi installation streamyx is automatically terminated. With this you got to migrate your phone number to unifi without need to get a new number.

QUOTE(hebe87 @ Sep 6 2018, 10:28 PM)
thanks for your information

having said that, i still do prefer copper line for phone over VoIP.

so far based on my experience, VoIP failed me about 3 times per year (isolated VoIP failed while unifi, unifi tv is working)
moreover, if during power outage, VoIP cannot be used. while copper line can still function
*
I agree. That's why thought want to keep the copper line for free, but end up tmpoint staff said need to pay RM25. Might as well just migrate it to unifi.

QUOTE(hexen7 @ Sep 6 2018, 10:29 PM)
So if i upg my old streamyx line + old phone no to unifi, do i still need to pay the rm25 monthly for the old phone no?
*
no need. Consider as Unifi already.

QUOTE(semot @ Sep 6 2018, 10:29 PM)
if switch to maxis need to pay extra RM25  for telephone line, even though not using the phone?
*
If not using, terminate it. If you want to keep the line of course need to pay.

my copper line is only RM1 monthly
*
Those who are offered to keep copper line for RM1 is because that time you cannot migrate old phone number to UniFi. Now that they allow you to migrate old number to UniFi, you will be charge standard RM25 rental rate if you so decided to still keep the copper line.

QUOTE(jason18689 @ Sep 6 2018, 11:37 PM)
Ahhh young man.
So in a nutshell, upgrade will enable me to retain the existing number, and pay RM129++ monthly for 100Mbps Unifi Pro?
But damn...I'd made a new application almost 2 hours ago!  Thus its not an upgrade.
Well, tomorrow I will head to any TM branch and if I could tell them that i am upgrading and not new application.  Fingers crossed.
Huh? I thought its RM25++?
*
Yes. Upgrade will maintain your existing line. Make sure you mention to them that you want to migrate existing line to UniFi, so they won't terminate your line thinking you made a new application.

QUOTE(rkwan67 @ Sep 7 2018, 01:58 AM)
Anyone know what kind of document is required to change to unifi lite 100mbps 129 plan, on behalf of owner?
*
Usually owner need to visit TmPoint to do that. But if cannot, try to get owner's photocopy IC and authorization letter from owner to allow you to do it on behalf.

I'm using previous 30Mbps@RM189 package and my contract has expired. Thinking of upgrade to 50Mbps@RM99 package. What is the meaning of no stb box? Do i need to return my existing stb or just ignore the no stb part?

IF they need me to return my stb, what is the alternative that i should purchase for watching unifi tv?

Thanks
so i can't go to tm point during the weekend to do the upgrade? was plannign to go tonight / tomorrow for the 50Mbps@RM99 package though

just now call tm centre..base on the tm portal..my account already upgraded to 500mbps..but so far didnt received any sms/email on confirmation of the said service..will push technical team to expediate if possible

then i try to nego if possible to reduce my monthly payment..currently i'm paying RM169 plus sst..based on the conversation..i can downgrade my hypptv package..but contract for hpptv will renewed for 12 month..currently with turbo package is RM60..after downgrade to basic package for RM30..so my monthly payment is RM129+6% sst total RM134.

tm will call me back within 24-48 hours to reconfirm the request.

This is damn cheap! Even Time cannot compare. RM129 with stb and 500mbps. TM really unfair with pricing.
