So recently i got an offer to study dentistry at UiTM. At first i was so happy but after doing an extensive research, i got so depressed and sad because many people say UiTM graduates are incompetent. Although i think that is somewhat true, does that also apply to medical and dental students from UiTM? Does anyone know someone or have work with UiTM dental student? And since most companies nowadays value experience so much, do guys think i have a better chance to work in a private sector after a few years working under government?

Im also planning to continue my study at UM(oral&maxillofacial surgery) but i just dont know when. Do you guys think i should continue my study first or get job experience first?

Any advice is highly appreciated.

Keep UiTM as the absolute last resort. Ifnu have better option, avoid UiTM at all cost

Some UiTM students are incompetent not because of the lecturers, but because of their tongkat mentality. The Dean’s list students are mostly as competent as other local uni grads.

If you think you are a lazyass student, then you might be part of the incompetent grad. Tepuk dada tanya diri sendiri.

Come here ask about uitm, can only get one answer lah....lol

Perhaps more to the point....what is your qualification?....

The quality of an institution correlates best with the quality of students it admits....

If you got rubbish results and can still get admitted, it answers your question.....

Funny thing. I've worked with UM grads and they're not as skilled as I've expected them to be.

If wanna ask about who's brighter, I'd rather give it to USM dental grads.

The local BDS syllabus are obsolete anyways.

To answer TS, doesn't matter which uni u go to. After your graduation straight sit for RCS examination. If you pass, you're probably just as good (in theory and patient management) as anyone else who says your uni suck. Keep doing continuous learning and you'll be good.

i should have known that. as far as im concerned, there only 12 dental school and only 6 of them are pub uni. But since my muet is band 3, i only had 4 choices. i didnt remember why i didnt choose uia and usim. i put ukm on 2nd choice in my upu list because i thought im never going to get into ukm since its very limited (50-55)

The way SPM is nowadays....don't get 8a, including at least half a+..... considered average result.....

But Malaysia boleh, so many will eventually get 4.0 in some foundation....

But still well above MMC/MDC minimum requirement.... people with the minimum 5b and CGPA 3.0 also get in ....you can imagine the standard of the unis admitting them....lol

really? i dont think students with bad results can get there. most of other students got interviewed there were mostly with cgpa 4.0 and there was even students from pasum. out of 400 students got called to interviewed, only 80 students will be enrolled( yeah i know the acceptance rate is a bit higher than other pub uni, but still)
