QUOTE(Sphenix @ Jan 1 2020, 12:18 AM) Pull out the rubber first of the socket first? My finger pain now after trying to pull the socket, and yet still failed to change Try find on YouTube for H4 bulb replacement. Basically you have to pull out the socket first, then dust cover, then lift up the holding spring, before you can remove the old bulb. First time removal of the socket could be a bit tough as some of our socket might melt and stick to the bulb pin. Anyway if you replacing a halogen bulb, don't ever touch the glass part of bulb with bare skin as oil smeared to bulb will cause the bulb to damage prematurely. Wear glove if you can find one.

QUOTE(voscar @ Jan 7 2020, 10:49 PM) Go overhaul much cheaper, search forum for alternator overhaul thread. But if your distance too far then don't take the risk because you're rely on battery to powered your car. Thanks bro, I'm long distance traveller. Clocked 381,783km as of now since 2011. I would rather opt for new parts due to bad aftertaste on reconditioned parts when i was driving Iswara before buying Persona. QUOTE(wklow28 @ Jan 8 2020, 02:06 PM) I chg b4, not really that expensive. New? Reconditioned? Original or OEM? Price range? 😋

QUOTE(wklow28 @ Jan 22 2020, 04:04 PM) Shld be recon one, part around RM 380 Got a new APM alternator from spare part shop i usually go for RM430. But it doesn't looked like original alternator that's swapped out. Could be counterfeit or APM version of OEM alternator. I'll use until it breaks then opt for 300+ taiwan alternator next time. By the way guys, just did an enquiry with PESC Larkin, our persona knock parts like bonnet cover & fender panel no longer in production from proton plant. So if you involved in accident like me then you will get non original body panel from your panel workshop.

QUOTE(delsoo @ Jan 29 2020, 10:56 PM) Thinking of changing the timing belt, car is about 5 yrs + , clocked 69k km so far . Should i chnage it now ? or can i chnage it later ? maybe anout reaching 80k km ? Any other things to be changed together with the timing belt ? What's the estimated cost if i do it at proton sc ? Might need your mechanics to inspect your timing belt for you to decide to change it now or still can wait. Usually the job that done together with timing belt set is water pump. But then if your coolant is clean & no rust, water pump no leaking, you can use until next timing belt change or it leak. Another optional change is your drive belt tensioner. That can be changed easily if you decided to change it next time when it spoil. Cost you need to ask. I have no memory of it already LOL.

QUOTE(stormaker @ Feb 10 2020, 09:46 AM) Is there a way to put the rear seat shoulder safety belt to "lock mode" to install baby car seat? Anybody know how? No way there bro... You just can try to retract the belt back as maximum as you can and try by pulling babyseat. Make it tight. This car is a pleasure to drive. But not so comfy for rear seat passenger.

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Apr 13 2020, 06:54 PM) Hi, does anyone know how to open up the rear dashboard as I want to change my speakers. The speakers hold between the frame and the softboard on top. To get the speakers I believe I need to remove the top first. I am looking for any screws or pin holding it, bit still can't move it. This is the base line model, any guides helpful as all accessories shops are still close. Thanks. anyone? I guess many PE owners no longer using this model now haha lol. There's 2 clips at the rectangle depress in between rear speakers. Have you tried remove that two first? By the way the speakers covers of mine warped due to heat as I parked my car under sun. Think at worst you still can access speakers by removing the speaker cover on rear panel.

QUOTE(powerwoot @ Apr 14 2020, 12:06 PM) There are 5 pins, 2 at the middle and 3 just behind our neck, bit hidden behind the rear headrest. Since mine is base model, have to remove the chair first, follow by the left and right cover behind the quarter glass. Than I can pull the softboard, but still can't open it fully. Lucky can reach the 4 screws from the new gap. The position of sandwich, where speakers are located between the frame and the softboard is really troublesome if want to change the speakers. Can't open it from below, need to open the board at the top first which is very difficult to, but doable after 2 days of trying. Thanks. Cheers bro.. Maximum effort there.. Mine also B-Line but I have next to zero experience doing audio & wiring DIY on my car...

QUOTE(Oklahoma @ Jun 3 2020, 03:37 PM) Guys wanna ask, is the 2012 Persona Elegance 1.6 High Line still worth it to buy today? I see carlist around RM16k.. I driven the persona elegance before and like the handling, but dunno if I should buy one myself in 2020. Also, might need to upgrade infotainment to connect android and touchscreen Hard to say bro... Depends on what your expectation on car. This is a good day to day car for work but rest seat not so family friendly. No isofix those. Dashboard area also lack space for touchscreen infotainment.

QUOTE(potatocam @ Jul 13 2020, 06:38 PM) Help ... My persona C.E.L is on, it caused the car unable to accelerate smoothly and gear does not change smoothly too. The rpm goes up to 2-3krpm and then it seems can't go up (the speed up to around 30-40). Slow down the car, rev again, and it moved up as usual but that time C.E.L is already on. Check with PADT, shows O2 sensor error code. Change to new O2 sensor twice, do reset and the C.E.L is still on after drive few kms. What seems to be the actual problem here? A lot of shop will use Gen2 O2 sensor with black colour harness for persona and it doesn't work. You need to use back to original Persona O2 sensor with green colour harness. Been on about 3 black harness and finally proton centre change a green for me and problem solved.

Well, at least make it capable to be use without issue for another 5-10 years. Any recommendation is highly appreciate. And If anyone from around JB area please recommend me a good Workshop that good and trusted to do the job. Thank you in advance. Lan You might want to check with Zordaq Taman University.
