Mine are usually external subs, same issue that I’m experiencing.

Anyway, while I like himedia (still have my ol’ q3ii that I’m using temporarily), I’m exploring other brands 😊
*
i think this is a subs provider problem.

becos i see the same skipping when using kodi player.

anyway, yes, do try another box, let us now how this and other issues come out.

This link on 1st page (http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?topic=3592.0) for Q10 Pro firmware upgrade states that it is only for European Q10.  The Q10 Pro I bought in Malaysia is an European or Chinese? How to check and confirm?
*
if u had bought it locally, it should be "european" version.

if u bought from china or online sourced from china, it will not be.

I don't think so because this past 1 week with my ol' q3ii....subs are 100% good  hmm.gif

Suddenly like my q3ii much much better too  wink.gif
*
i actually only exp this skipping once in a while.

but maybe i dun use SRT so much... the embedded subs are alright, dun hv any skipping.

QUOTE(Ngto @ Sep 11 2018, 12:21 AM)
Only Q10 pro has this bug. I read in forums this only started in last few FW.
*
i noticed it in firmware up to 203. it went away with 204... i remember i tested it with the same files.

then i noticed it again occasionally with 207.

but as i seldom use SRT, i dun really get it much.

Was gonna get a Zappiti, but apparently it’s currently sold out in Malaysia. Next batch of shipment is coming soon though, but no date fixed yet.

Was looking at other alternatives when I chance upon this Zidoo that carries similar chipset as Zappiti. Online reviews were good. Also, somehow because Zappiti website responded a bit ‘late’...I decided to get this Zidoo.

Somehow my q3ii...still very good if you’re not in 4K
*
ya, zidoo and zappiti uses realtek chipset.

egreat is said to be good too, uses same hisilicon chipset as q10pro.

not sure if there is a zidoo thread, but do post something for us to read when u have used it enough, tq.

if still unclear about 4k 60fps, chroma 444... below should clarify the issue.

QUOTE
4K resolution.
60 frames per second.
4:4:4 chroma subsampling.

This trio has been used in combination for some time as a moniker to signify 18Gbps HDMI support. Simply stating ‘18G’ might have been simpler, but hey that’s another story…

The complication comes when HDR is added. From a menu where 4K is the main dish, and 60fps, 4:4:4 and HDR are the three side options, we can only choose two. The third comes at extra cost of which we can’t yet afford. That’ll come with HDMI 2.1.

Why is it so?

4K60 4:4:4 runs at 17.82Gbps, but only with the default 8-bit BT.709 color. That’s the same color gamut as 720p and 1080i/p. The whole point of HDR is to increase color volume, which it can’t do unless there’s first an increased color gamut. That means stepping up to BT.2020, which in turn means 10- or 12-bit deep color. The HDMI 2.0 spec also calls for a minimum 10-bit color with BT.2020.

Here's how it stands...

Main + 2 sides;
(Remember it has to be under 18Gbps…)

4K 60 4:4:4 (no HDR) = 17.82Gbps

4K 30 4:4:4 10b-HDR (no 60fps) = 11.14Gbps

4K 60 4:2:2 10b-HDR (no 4:4:4) = 17.82Gbps

Main + 3 sides;

4K 60 4:4:4 10b-HDR = 22.28Gbps

Bottom line – there currently is no 4K 60 4:4:4 HDR supported by HDMI 2.0. We need HDMI 2.1. The good news is that there’s not many applications that would require the combo of all three sides anyway. We're most commonly watching 24fps, 4:2:0 chroma, or both, in which case we're under the 18Gbps. Happy days. It’s just something to be aware of for now, whenever you see that moniker.

Me old man with bad memories  biggrin.gif

Ok, since you have it...can I ask a question:-
- How do you use the Home Theatre and get the wallpapers? Do we need to put it into a folder [Movies] and the movie file (.mp4,.mkv, etc) into it?
Example
d:\movies\Autaman.mp4

Currently, all mine are into individual folders according to alphabets (for easy manual searching of course plus the release year (just for quick info) and ws (with subtitle  smile.gif ) , e.g

d:\movies\A\Autaman (1900) ws\Autaman.1080p.1900.mp4

Could mine above show the respective wallpapers?

Guys,

Pls dun hijack the thread.

Start a new zidoo thread... do everybodt a favor!!

2.0.9 and auto frame rate patch do not work well for me. Even without the auto FRP its a problem. There is an additional hdmi sync that seems to happen and the only way I can get the picture and audio is by switching inputs on my AVR to force a resync once the movie starts. It works fine if I revert to 2.0.8.

This is for the Q10 pro.
*
u mean auto frame or auto resolution (using unofficial patch)?

209... auto frame is working fine.

but auto res... it worked and then it did not... not reliable, guess that's why it was never official.

Actually it's both. I even tried after deinstall of the patch. It's just forces a resync if 24p is turned on in settings.
*
the auto frame is active in the firmware, does not need the unofficial patch.

the patch is for auto res.

since auto res stopped working, i removed it; auto frame continues as normal.

if u have autoframe issue w/o the patch, best may be to flash the box.

Hi All sifus,

Im having issue with my KODI. I hope this is the right place to as about this.

Before I start, Im using my Q10 and Yamaha RX-A 86X

Previously when I play movie from my hard disk, kodi will use this player as per picture attach (good player). (which support audio output 5.1.2 channel)
but recently, when I play movie, kodi use this player. (soso player)(only output 2 channel)
Please help on how to set the KODI to use back the first picture player.
*
u mean q10pro?

since kodi 17, u will not get HD audio, best u get is dolby digital - local playback or online streams.

why do u not use the native player which has good video and audio capabilities?

Hi all,

dont know where to ask, so i ask here:)
is it possible to stream neflix on himeda q30 i better qualitiy than 640x480. before i had better quality, something changed and now is really low qualitiy.

thnx for answers

Alex
*
like other himedia models, q30 is not a netflix approved device - u get only 480p tops.

if u felt the picture was better than before, it is more likely due to something about yr tv settings, avr or simply diff videos.

q16 android 4.4.2 is still good for older, basic stuff.

but, can't do what q5pro/q10pro can:

.. 10bit
.. 4k hdr
.. 1080p/4k hdr bluray full menu
.. dtsx
.. auto frame switching
.. 5ghz wifi
.. astrogo
.. unifi playtv
.. redbox v1.2
.. kodi 17

great device for its time... but tech moves along... time to upgrade!

Any insight new whether himedia will be release new flagship model soon or enchancement?. Im.olanning to get q10 pro but afraid new model coming soon
*
Not that i know of.

I really cant see what major benefits a new box will bring except...

A more powerful chipset, say 3/32gb... also better for p2p apps.
Netflix 4k, dolby vision approved which are unlikely.
Android8 is fine but 7 is not disadvantaged for immediate future.

The rest.. basically all there in q10pro... 4k hdr, 10 bit, full bd menu, astrogo, unifi playytv, kodi dd passthru...

If a new model comes out, i hope they dun remove anything working on q10pro!!

I have issue here on my q10pro. Everytime I exit from video, HDMI signal is lost. Need to power off and on again to regain signal.

Anyone can help?
*
exit from what video... what app or playback? everytime?

this smells like a CEC-ARC problem.

pls detail what TV, what AV or soundbar, what other devices... hyppbox/unifitv... how u connect.

After video playback, everytime! Connection is thru Onkyo TX-NR656. TV is Samsung UA55NU8000.
Mibox is also connected to the Onkyo.
*
since u r not using arc but direct to AVR, cec is not the issue.

i hv exp this problem once with my denon but i can't remember what caused it.

either the TV or AVR required a total power shutdown/reboot or a new q10pro firmware - what firmware r u on?

also, try these:

1. remove mibox, see any diff.

2. connect Q10pro to TV direct, see any diff.

3. check HDMI cables, all well connected.

from there, u may get an idea what's causing it.

guys, let say I buy this player
I got 4k tv, but my amp don't think its 4k ready
but the amp has HD audio, non Atmos nor X

how should I connect this player?
*
connect hdmi to AVR, then hdmi to TV for video.

if AVR is non 4k, u will not be able to set the box to 2160p... will be capped at 1080p.

4k videos will be downgraded by box, goes to AVR and then to TV as 1080p.

similarly, DDatmos or dtsx tracks will not go thru but passed thru box as DDtruHD and DTShdma to AVR.

still can't fully utilise 4k then
is there a switch/splitter where  q10 media pro hdmi out split 2, one goes into avr for audio, another goes straight to tv for video?
*
as described by OPT, u can get 4k videos.

u connect box->tv direct.

thing is, if u do that, u can't get HD audio - TV ARC or box coaxial/optical audio output give DIGITAL audio only.

99% devices have only 1 hdmi output and there is no hdmi splitter like u wish

your situation is very common.

unless u change AVR, u cannot get 4k+HD audio.

The 10bit colourspace options can be restored in 2.1.0 by pressing 0 3 5 1 in sequence on the Himedia remote.
