It's insane how big difference the price between this two. Branded one can cost easily RM1.5K but the non-branded ones can be as cheap as RM200+.

In reality, is there any difference between this two? What's the difference?

Should I go for non-branded car tint?

HUGE difference, my car is on 3M Crystalline 60/70. Been using 3M since my first car, 12 years ago. You won't regret it. But price now is around RM2k for whole car. Good thing is you save on petrol as your car cools much faster.
Don't bother putting non-branded car tint, and besides UV rejection, the infrared rejection is important too

If you're caught in traffic on a hot sunny day, with a good tint, you don't have to full blast the AC continuously. On a super hot day, I just put level 2 fan speed. That's quite some savings there i believe

Unless you turn off the ac completely there is no petrol savings. And even if you do turn off completely the savings is minimal.

Depends on how you think. Branded at least no bubble for a long long long time. Until you change car also no problem.

Non branded. Might have bubble. Disgusting.

But then again. With the price, you can always change fron one no brand to another no brand whenever there is bubble.

Removing the film from the rear windscreen might damage the demister.
The tint shop will not guarantee the demister will not damage when they remove the film.
Have to take note on this.

Recently was shopping around for tint also. After researching and visiting different places, finally settled on RayTech. Got the RM1100 package. Can really feel the difference when they show you the demo.

Plus, look at all the cars with ugly bubbles on their low quality tint. You really wanna be one of them?

149 for whole car or 1490?
Hundred over tint also can be good meh?
My company car tint 400- 500 cheapo no brand, at first very dark, after few weeks faded and worst can see transparent lines caused by rubbing from opening and closing of windows. It's like they paint color on the tint surface and get rubbed off

Aiyoh tints comes in a vary of prices but below 300 for whole car confirm got problem want. Common sense also know. But like me, I can get good quality Tint for cheaper price cause I can get direct from manufacturer lo.

But even from manufacturer also not so cheap one. So non branded also got good ones cause brand is just a name. If u can find good quality no brand, I don't see a problem as I myself n my whole family use non branded tints

Paying more for branded one doesnt mean it's the best. Sometimes the non branded ca be as good as branded one. I have 3M tint (RM2k) done in my old car and a no branded one (RM500) in my other car. Surprisingly the cheaper one is very good. I cant say about the durability of the tint but currently, performance wise it's similar if not better.

Interesting tidbits, my cheap tint is done is a very dubious tint shop run by one guy(no other staff) for around 10 years. I suspect it's a money laundering place for ahlongs. That said, he did a pretty good job and according to my other friends who have their tints done there, after 3 years their RM300 tint is just as good as new. His tint films are devoid of any brands and when tested with other expensive film samples, it rejects heat as good as the RM3+k tints. It even reject heat better than the 3M on my car.

There is difference in Tint vs Color film

Cheap color film ranges around 200-300 for whole car. It effectively block anything because it provide some shades. Some grab car guy told me he did for rm100 and he happy with it.

You can get cheap tint from 500-1K. (Most probably fakes or some own brands). It works, but not sure it lasts 5 years.

Branded tint, last longer, and have better clear non intrusive visibility. Ranges from 1000 upwards.

Do within your budget.
Hardly any tint will pass Puspakom upon name transfer inspection.
You need CLEAR tint to achieve 70% VLT passing rate.
My car just cleared Puspakom with all tint removed. It reads -
Front 72%
Back 69%
Front Right 69%
Front left 68%
Back Right 68%
Back left 70%

Wow ceramic tint. Anyway I tried one for rm350 before in subang. Just try out only after vkool last time. Can only say heat is half as good as vkool. But lotsa dust, and at night visibility can be affected. In The light from cars scatters. But for rm350 I cannot expect too much

tbh, i really regret didnt go for no brand tint, my rm2.5k++ 3M crystalline tint is so terrible at rejecting heat and the car is always as hot as no tint at all, 3M say this is the best heat reject tint but its hot like hell inside every time my car is parked under sunlight

if this kind of performance i might as well go for those few hundred punya tint

The function of heat barrier is a function of infrared wave block....good films should block at least 90% of irr....

The problem is, that also block most of visible light....and never compliant with jpj rule....

Good films block irr while letting enough light through....the technology is expensive....

Do note that even v kool 70% light transmission film cannot comply with jpj....as the car will already has some tint....

take it to another and have it tested laugh.gif

there's stories of authorized dealer stop becoming dealer due to installing different thing than the customer ordered.
