anyone having credit card top up issue?
current I am unable to add my new credit card and having issue top up issue using existing card.
error msg such as something wrong, please contact bank or use other sources appear.
*
Yes same issue. I reached out to BigPay support over live chat - they said there's no issue on their end. Asked me to try and uninstall and reinstall app - which I have now done, still doesn't work.

They also asked whether I used this card to top up another person's BigPay account and I said yes - then said I should remove the card from that account and try again. I had already tried this even before reaching out to support. I also tried another few cards and all didn't work. I'm assuming (hoping?) it's a temporary issue?

if u share card, u can only topup up to 5 times, after that you will be getting that error for like 2, 3 days, then it will go back to normal. did u perform 5 times transaction within a few days with that card in that two accs?
*
Yes more than 5 times across the two accounts over those few days.

But now any card I've tried is not working.. and I've tried about 5 different cards (from 2 different banks). I guess my account currently can't top up so as you said I probably need to wait a few days for it to go back to normal lol.

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Apr 10 2020, 12:07 PM)
ah this one important info
*
Yea oh well. Means that's why it's happening for me right?

I experience this before, it will go back to normal after a few days. After that, i never interchange any card between 2 BPs, so plan ahead using excel card allocation properly, so can maximise rm5k topup limit
*
Oh ok, thanks!

I guess the better way is if I need to top up to different BigPay cards, I can just top up to one (up to RM5k/mth) and then send the money over via BigPay to BigPay.

Still can't topup with credit card. Any ideas how to resolve this?
*
Just coming back to say I'm still having this same issue which I first reported on April 10 (Friday, early morning).

I didn't try to top up at all with this card over the weekend, I thought I would give it a few days but it didn't seem to help. Seems like others are experiencing this issue now with certain cards.

However, I tried a different card from the same bank and that worked.

I get the feeling I need to give my first card (the one I used with other BP account) more time to "refresh" or "clear" itself.

Anyone recently got a WhatsApp call from 01156272547? I didn't answer, and I replied by message saying, "can you message instead?" - no reply.

User has a BigPay profile photo suggesting they may be associated with BigPay, but look at the screenshot I attached to see the results when I google "601156272547"

The website it links to is https://www.myboost.info/

Notice that it seems to be associated with Boost App instead? But then.. notice that the official Boost app website is https://www.myboost.com.my/..

So, something doesn't seem right.. haha

I'll go post this over on the Boost chat too

It’s common nowadays that our phone number is leaked.

Therefore, we have to filter ourselves...

Yea I mean I know that this can happen but this number is not actually widely used for much at all (it was my mum - not me actually)
Read the old news:
A massive data breach has seen the customer data of more than 46 million mobile subscribers in Malaysia leaked on to the dark web.
*
Oh interesting. However, this number only started being used I think after that data leak! Haha.

Anyway I messaged the number on WhatsApp back but they didn't reply. Maybe they saw their number appear here and they got scared or something haha.

I tried few cards but still doesn't work. Can't even add the card back after I removed it.
Yesterday tried few times and only managed to top-up RM100 through my PBB card in the morning. Doesn't work anymore after that.
Did BP Chat twice (last Fri and today). Each time they just took the cards details and said the finance team will get back to me.

Sorry forgot to add another piece of probably important info to my last post. I used a different card on a different BigPay account. And then the money I just send over after top up.

Sorry that it's still not working for you. Have they got back to you to help you yet..?

Geez you can't edit posts right? I notice someone made a typo in one of the previous quotes (appears as "qufote") so now all the subsequent quotes also look screwed up haha

You should reduce spending rather than increase during this trying time

Whilst I think most would agree with this advice - or rather - most would be naturally going down this path anyway due to not being able to go out as often, you really haven't answered the question lol.

But luckily others now have.

Any hidden charges?

Is there anywhere you can't use BigPay like a debit card?

Or rather - is there any way to not use BigPay like a debit card? lol

Don't think you'll be charged anything that isn't listed on their website, otherwise you'd have reason to complain

But that's really just not being able to use the card right? Nothing to do with it not being able to used specifically as a debit card?

I thought BigPay exchange rate for MYR to SGD was competitive before this

Before what exactly?

QUOTE(moosset @ May 10 2020, 01:40 PM)
but how come now the rate is not so nice anymore?

Isn't that just because of currency fluctuations? i.e. MYR weakening vs SGD? Meaning you'll get a worse rate, no matter what MYR card you use on SGD purchases today vs 3 months ago when the MYR was stronger (vs SGD)?

QUOTE(moosset @ May 10 2020, 01:40 PM)
the fee has been lowered from RM 7 to RM 5, it seems..

Yes, and some has stepped up the game by transferring to singapore account(s).

Hmm, what's the benefit in that? Or is this just effectively "discounted" money remittance by topping up BP with the "right" cards?

All conjecture based on what individuals think is 'suspicious' behaviour (normally matching what they themselves are doing but feel guilty about).

We had ONE case of banned card previously, but he did not respond to questions for further clarification, just said "oh I did this and I got banned" where 'this' is 60k withdrawn over 2 months.

Realistically, the financial institution won't reveal their criteria, and customers won't know for sure.
*
Yea fair enough. What you've said is pretty reasonable.

True - but why would you suggest that if I didn't show some indication? It doesn't contribute to the discussion confused.gif

Like I don't need you to give me permission to try, do I..? LOL

More than what we think from this thread, just people not report here

Yea ok. I'm sure there are BP users who don't view this, including those that may have been banned.

Quite a lot of cards I have to put back into the drawer or cancel.

SCB JOP and SCB Liverpool will be those cards.
I have cancelled Alliance You:nique Visa earlier. SCB will be next once their campaigns run out.
*
What was wrong with You:nique? Did they stop awarding cashback on BP top ups? Or you ended up with better cards?

BigPay start to ban accounts. Those who cannot topup via credit card, try debit card instead. If you get the same error, chances are your account is banned.
*
"Ban"? A ban should mean a ban - i.e. no longer able to use their services at all. Card no longer active, balance to be refunded, etc.

How can you still top up at all if you're banned? Sounds more like an account being prohibited from topping up with credit cards specifically rather than ban.

How are we defining "soft ban" and "hard ban"?

What definition of "ban" are we using..? Ban (should) just mean no longer able to use their services?

savings account is tried and tested way. And you can "time" it.
No guarantee a payment to credit card will credit in time for due date unless you do more than several days earlier.
*
Wait, how does one even pay a CC with BigPay..? It's not possible, surely? As you said, you'd have to transfer out to bank account first then use those funds to pay for a CC. You can't pay a CC directly surely?
