QUOTE(BigPayJonathan @ Jul 25 2018, 07:08 PM)
You can still top up with no limit in the app using your banks debit card or online bank transfer. Why? Banks charge us fees for credit card top ups. We absorb these fees so that you can top up easily and for free. We think limiting monthly credit card top ups is a fair way for us to continue to provide a convenient top up method in a sustainable way. That's why we've introduced unlimited online bank transfer at no charge.
(sorry it took me some time to reply, but Tony made an unexpected appearance in our office so things got a little out of hand haha)
*
Thanks but no thanks. I am not going to topup Bigpay using online transfer. Is makes Bigpay totally useless.

QUOTE(alexanderclz @ Jul 25 2018, 07:43 PM)
despite what people say in the past few pages, if you are truly only after the good exchange rate on bigpay, you would topup with online banking. it's nothing to be ashame of that most of us here are after credit card rebate despite what you say.

and besides to control abuse withdrawal, i suppose one of their concerns is the source of the income to topup? that's why some of our forumers got their card blocked, needing to provide money trail, etc. it's not about withdrawal alone.
*
Keep in mind that Bigpay aren't the only card in the world which offer so cheap exchange rate. Many mat salleh cards have the same feature as Bigpay. I use Bigpay for 2 reason.
1) cheap exchange rate
2) ability to earn cashback anytime, anywhere without restrictions.

QUOTE(knwong @ Jul 25 2018, 07:44 PM)
You can still top up via bank transfer once you’ve used up your Credit Card top up. I don’t see a big deal of this
*
Totally useless to topup Bigpay using bank transfer as using Bank transfer, is as good as using cash which earns you nothing.

QUOTE(Fortunekl @ Jul 25 2018, 08:04 PM)
Thanks Jonathan for the explanation. I will rather go back to CC once my cc reload was exhausted. At least other cc still give me some TP/cashback. CASA reload will give nothing.
*
Agreed.

RM10,000 limit for reload by credit card is fair. it is better than imposing charges for reload via credit card.
true. but if there is no limit on reload via credit card, and if there is no charge for reload via credit card, then BigPay business model in unsustainable in long run.

i rather they limit RM10,000 per month for reload via credit card. better than imposing charges for reload via credit card.
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ Jul 25 2018, 11:46 PM)
10k per month is more than enough for me. If really not enough, I still have other CCs to cover. I'm glad they don't straight implement service charge for CC reload. Phew.
*
RM10k is very fair. More than enough for me.

Totally useless? It's better than using your Malaysian CC overseas and getting stacking charges and lousy exchange rate. This is just complaining for sake of complaining.
*
If you use Maybank CC to earn miles points (it's value in term of CB > normal CB cards). So even if you need to pay extra fees/higher exchange rate, at the end of the day you are getting more money worth.

in term of air miles, I get on average 10 percent equivalent value from cc, so if u ask me choose between big pay free exchange rate convertion or cc point, I will just go for cc, no brainer, my priority is cc point.
*
Precisely. That's if you ask me to topup via online transfer/debit card, no thank you.

true. they dunno what they are asking. if a company limits your withdrawal amount, wouldn't you feel unsafe and something fishy is going on? not the same but imagine maybank one day says you can only withdraw 1k a day from your savings account.  blink.gif
*
That will trigger a bank run. Luckily I keep min inside my bigpay. Only topup when I need.

QUOTE(OPT @ Aug 7 2018, 12:24 AM)
Can I check with you guys in here...is it worthwhile to withdraw money in local currency when in overseas?

Is it still cheaper than exchange money in Msia money changer? I read some posts the bank charges quite high rate and maybe it's more worthwhile to just change it while in Msia...
*
If you get BigPay card and withdraw from atm overseas, you will get more or less money changer rate provided you select local currencies (USD, GBP, etc).

Of course you kena charge I think RM10 + atm fees if the overseas bank atm want to charge you. But definitely cheaper than use Malaysian bank atm card to withdraw.

I agree that if not sustainable, bank will tarik the Cashback as shown by maybank with their amex. But because they tarik the Cashback, lots of people stop using the card, they stop earning money.

I heard the fix flat rate at RM10. Or is this only applicable in Malaysia and different charges in overseas?
*
Malaysia RM6. But keep in mind if you keep with drawing money, your BigPay will be blocked and you can't get your money out.

But I assume I can freely use the card as long as the merchant accepts MasterCard ? Do I need to call bigpay represenatative?
*
No need. Just swipe the card like normal. BigPay is only particular if you withdraw lots of cash.

Limit which will trigger an alert on withdrawing cash is as good as anyone guest as BigPay themselves are not telling.

Do note what alexanderclz is telling you. There might be overseas ATM charges in addition to the fix RM10 for ATM withdrawal overseas. When that happens, you will find having cash is better.

If really short on cash, try to utilize using card payment. Or pay for your travel mates to get their cash in return.
*
If swiping overseas, better BP than cash. If want to withdraw cash overseas, better bring cash than BP

QUOTE(sjz @ Aug 13 2018, 06:44 PM)
Had just started using BigPay today and topup using PB Bank.

I can't imagine how on earth will be any human being willing to use something as bloodiful and crappy as BigPay other than due to the promos and cash backs offered by respective banks.

Why i said so?

BigPay is the WORST, not one of but THE WORST thing i ever seen in online world.

While i jz perform mere 8 transaction.
2 of them showed it is failed in BigPay apps, yet when i call Public Bank the transaction is SUCCESSFUL.

mind you, it's 2 transactions that BigPay told u it's failed transaction while in actual the transaction is successful and money had been deducted from your card.

Call to Bigpay to highlight this issue but there is no answer after a long wait.

Click contact support and wrote to them about my problem.
From 9am till now NO RESPONSE.

BIGPAY, RETURN MY MONEY BACK TO ME!!

ITS A SCAM!
*
Dude chill. I have one transaction which I cancel, later only it showed as cancel few days later. I was charged but later money come back. Oh yes, please write to BNM at least hopefully their service will improve. I on the other hand never experience any issue with them.

They only operate office hour la.

i wrote to them 9am this morning using contact support.
Till now no response from them.

Like frankly, if not for the CB or Promo.
Who would take the hassle to use BigPay?

It's simply not worth the worry and hassle..
And there seem to be no extra benefit from BigPay rather than tons of troubles eg. mine 2 time reload failure
*
Dude chill. This is Malaysia. You expect people to reply to you within few hours, best to use mat salleh products. Give them one working day to reply. If they don't reply, they yes you got right to get angry.

I would for cheaper exchange rates vs banks. But agree. Don't know what they did until their app so unstable. Before this ok only. For me I personally never exp any issue with their app before this.

agree with you.

it's getting worse. either bigpay's issue, or their bank partner's issue, or their payment gateway partner's issue. really problematic and at an alarming state too.

write to BNM is to escalate the severity of the reliability as of late. bigpay and other ewallet providers would need to respond to BNM seriously once enough complaints hitting their inbox prompting swift resolution and rectification of their services.
*
That's why I said, don't know what they did. For a fintech to keep throwing up this kind of bugs is unacceptable.

Chill bro, if you hit them too hard, and they cannot cope, remove CC from top up, it will backfire and you’ll have no BigPay platform to reload and take advantage of CC.
*
Well if they remove the CC topup, I believe BP won't take off as majority of us here are using it for CB only. They lose, we lose biggrin.gif

Luckily I don't keep a lot of balance there, I will reload only when I want to use.

Besides some hiccups, I'm pretty happy with BP. The exchange rate is unbeatable.
*
This I agree. I topup what I need roughly. Always <RM1k. No card beat their exchange rate yet.

wow, hangat dgn bau hangus.

I'm so far never encounter issue and feel happy with BP, it's a good product. The exchange rate is really great unbeatable.

I believe BP technical team is struggling to improve the whole things. I don't think Tony will do anything which he is not confidence with. But things sometimes happen, chill out bro sis, let them improve, especially those new comer, sorry that you guys encounter issue, unable to feel your first sight love as we do.
