Just to confirm that if one were to apply for the BigPay Prepaid MasterCard now, he or she will definitely get the paypass Card now ? Not the old type ? I have the old one with no paypass feature. Thinking of getting one for my mom and would like it to be the new one with paypass function.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Aug 18 2018, 12:20 PM) BigPay hasn't announced for existing users yet but Jonathan did mention may be chargeable for existing users. Thanks for the info QUOTE(skty @ Aug 18 2018, 12:50 PM) aiya. just give up BOOST and find other alternative lo... I’ve been actively using Boost too for the past 3 weeks. Not because of withdrawing money. But because of shake rewards. And I’ve used it more often ever since FavePay teams up with Boost. complaint can't help you resolve this issue. However, I received an email from FavePay that it is disabling the payment by Boost through its system due to a system upgrade by Boost. This is weird considering their partnership started just recently. No timeframe is given when we can use Boost with FavePay again. |

I made three attempts to reload my BigPay last night. All three attempts did bring me to OTP page. The first two times it timed out. Third time was successful and balance updated accordingly. However, shockingly this afternoon I suddenly received an in-app alert that my BigPay been reloaded again. Checked the transaction history and it came from one of the failed transactions last night. Lots of issue with BigPay of late.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Oct 2 2018, 05:32 PM) user's money is put in a TRUST ACCOUNT (and reported to BNM) and is treated differently by the bank (very very low interest compared to retail/biz account). |

Many banks in Japan don’t support foreign ATM card withdrawal. To be on the safe side, withdraw from Seven Bank ATM. Seven Bank ATM can be found inside 7-Eleven.

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Oct 25 2018, 11:43 AM) Erm... no. Licensed shark loans are here to stay. So are cash. Just that By 2025, even more Malaysians will use card to pay for stuff. Countries like South Korea and US are predominantly a credit card society for more than two decades already but cash is still very much relevant. QRPay seems so hot now but it kind of fails in places where credit card is widely accepted, South Korea for instance. |

QUOTE(hspace @ Oct 25 2018, 12:24 PM) I just got back from China. During that past 7 days, I didn't touch a single currency note or coin. At the subway taking train, at the streetside noodle seller, at the vending machine buying a Coke, unlocking a rental bicycle off the street, at McDonald's didn't even speak to a person - just ordered and paid through a terminal. I walked out the past 7 days with ZERO cash in my pocket. I came back with a 1 yuan coin leftover from last trip cos forgot to use and no chance to use. I’m aware of that, but if you go to Hong Kong. It’s a different story again. And it’s going to be hard to convince people to adopt QR Code payment where credit card acceptance is high. And unlike VISA and MasterCard, it s very easy to duplicate the QR code payment system. That is why here in Malaysia and Singapore, we have so many e-Wallets.If you use cash, immediately the cashier knows you are either elderly or tourist. And might even grumble a bit have to look out for fake notes, handle dirty crumpled money and count. This is a big city, smaller cities might still be catching up. But just an inevitably. It's just so convenient and makes so much sense. I don't miss carrying a wad of cash and coins AT ALL. Anyway, as fruitie said. We have gone off-topic. Discussion on e-Wallet can perhaps continue in the dedicated WeChat Pay thread. |

QUOTE(jessc111 @ Oct 31 2018, 08:53 PM) Just came back from Japan. Used bigpay thinking the exchange rate is equivalent to XE but got a shock this morning when the app prompted me that I have a negative balance in my account cos the settlement rate is different from the rate I saw when I use the card. The exchange rate is even higher than money changer. You may want to know that our MYR has weakened over the last few days. When you bought your JPY cash at MV before you left for Japan, the value of our MYR was still slightly higher. If this happens the other way around, as in our MYR strengthens during the week you were in Japan. You would have noticed that the exchange rate on BigPay was even lower than what you paid for at MV. But unfortunately in your case MYR weakened. When I changed cash at Midvalley the rate was 37.245 and Bigpay settlement rate is 37.37!! Totally regretted it. Such a ripped off! |

QUOTE(Lingohal @ Nov 8 2018, 10:37 PM) If you have told the cashier to charge at local currency but they still convert it, then can you actually ask the cashier to void the payment, and cancel your purchase? Yes you can request them to void the previously payment. But that of course depends on whether they are helpful or not or whether they know how to operate the credit card terminal. It happened to me in Seoul, South Korea back in April this year at one of Hyundai Department Store restaurants. The ahjumma didn’t understand what I wanted. But the BigPay app really came in handy as we can see the transaction right away pending settlement. And I noticed I was charged in MYR despite I had requested to be charged in KRW. Went back to the restaurant. The ahjumma still didn’t understand what I was saying. Luckily a younger man cave over and he knew what I was talking about. He canceled the previous transaction and charged my card once again and selected KRW as the settlement currency. |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 12 2018, 12:10 AM) An update for Shopee issue. It seems I can add back BP into Shopee though the payment gateway is Cybersource. Unfortunately, 1111 sales has ended. There is some problem with BigPay MasterCard with Cybersource. The problem I faced with Cybersource however, was at Traveloka though. I tried to buy two tickets using my mom’s BigPay MasterCard. It redirected me to the OTP page but before I was able to key in the OTP, it redirected me back to Traveloka payment page. And I tried it 3 times and faced the same problem. I then used my own BigPay MasterCard to complete the payment and it actually went through. |

QUOTE(benwpc @ Nov 14 2018, 01:37 PM) withdrew JPY100,000 at Seven Bank in Japan on 9/11 Or the opposite. MYR has been on downtrend on the last few weeks. And it touched RM4.20 vs USD1 yesterday. Perhaps it is more accurate for you to compare the JPY selling rate before you left for Japan.Bigpay rate was JPY100 = MYR3.676 ATM Cash Withdrawal Fee = MYR10 Total: 3,676.11 + 10.00 = MYR3,686.11 by the time Malaysian's momey changer sold JPY at JPY100 = MYR3.71 The rate is still cheaper than Malaysian money changer. Well done Bigpay!! |
