Thank you for your answer.

If that's the case for kkday, maybe I should use Maybank Amex to pay on weekend to gain 5% cashback. 5% should be enough to cover the difference, right?
*
If they accept AMEX, then yes. It has been a while since I made a purchase on KKday. If AMEX is accepted, do buy after 2pm on Saturday to be absolutely sure that it will be captured as Saturday transaction.

Has anyone successfully used your BigPay Prepaid MasterCard to buy or top up an Osyter Card at London Underground Station automated machine ?
*
Have anyone answered this?
*
I can answer this now myself too and the answer is yes. On top of that, BigPay Prepaid MasterCard also works flawlessly for buying train ticket in Berlin, Prague, Vienna and Budapest rclxms.gif

Singapore MRT can now use Visa/Mastercard wave ? That's so cool.
When's is it Malaysia's turn ?
*
Do note there is a SG$0.50 a week fee SMRT will charge to your card though. The fee however is charged once a week only regardless the number of times you use your contactless card to ride the MRT or bus in Singapore.

QUOTE(IW7IH @ Jul 23 2019, 10:21 AM)
I thought using oyster card loaded with 7 day travel is cheaper as its unlimited? no ?
*
If you want to buy a travel pass, then yes. But I’m not sure if you need a physical pass to buy a travel pass though as I didn’t check. I was there for 8 days late last year and I already had 2 Oyster Cards that I bought during my first trip to London a few years ago. So I reloaded both Oysters Cards with 1-week travel pass.

Otherwise, your Underground fare will not exceed the maximum cap on zone fare for the day regardless of the times you ride on the Underground provided you pay using the same contratless card.

Just wanted to ask about this limit thing and saw your post. Thank you.

But where do you get this info though?
*
No worries.

As you can see in the BigPay FAQ, the limit information isn’t comprehensive as only the limit for local bank transfer is mentioned.

I got the information via BigPay CS actually.

Speaking of debit card limit, I recently starting to cancel all my credit cards. Going to use BigPay from now on and not worry about repayment.

However I can only reload RM1000 per debit card each day. Is that the limitation for debit card? So frustrated that I end up using online banking to reload my BP.
*
Many banks debit card linked to your savings or current account has a retail spending limit of up to RM10,000 whilst the usual lower one also has RM5,000. So it’s most likely has to do with your preset spending limit. Try to adjust it via ATM or your online banking portal (if available).

I would think without credit card top up, who in this country will be using ewallet? Most of us have credit cards
*
Many still don’t have credit card in this country. But otherwise, almost every adults have debit card now.

But yes, I agree that without incentive for people to use eWallet, few people will use it. In countries with very developed card payment system such as South Korea (the one Asian country with highest card usage), some European countries like UK, Norway etc., it’s extremely hard for eWallet to gain a foothold due to existing payment system is so well-developed already and everyone just pays using either credit or debit card.

Actually just before the MCO it was it in the early days of the MCO in March 2020, I actually received a notification from Grab saying withdrawing our GrabPay balance to bank account will soon be made available. I however couldn’t find the notification now and so far there is no update on this.

Actually my issue had been exist since BP able to top up 10k with Credit Card.
Once i reach 10k, i continue with my OCBC debit card, system determine it as credit card top up limit.
I'd been tried before, top up with OCBC debit card first, it counts into my Credit Card top up limit.
Not sure why is that. 2 of 4 from my debit card cant top up.
*
Sounds like a bank specific issue. I’ve topped up my BigPay with RHB Bank debit card before after I used up the RM10,000 top-up limit last time and there was no problem with it.

Ehh. ii got this also.
Youre going to exceed your 2500 creditcard top up limit.
i try all 3 card also cannot top up using UOB, CITI, PB tooo... why?
How can i increase top up limit?
*
Because current limit is only RM2,500 for top up with credit card. There is no way to increase the limit. We were talking about top up with debit card wrongly captured as credit card top up by BigPay, thus eating into the monthly limit.

I notice you're a mod. Does that mean you manage/maintain this thread, including the information on page 1? How come there's no section for cards awarding rewards points on page 1? I think that would be good to have - can save people asking questions like mine! haha.

The BigPay Prepaid MasterCard is still a good card for overseas use because we’re still earning Big Points (not much value but every single cent counts these days lol) and this card still doesn’t have foreign exchange mark-up fee, so this is a big plus. If GoPayz removes its foreign exchange mark-up fee, I will definitely use it when I’m overseas.

OCBC debit cards including FRANK debit MasterCard all do not have foreign currency mark-up fee either but BigPay Prepaid MasterCard is better since there is still Big Points. Besides, my OCBC debit card was hit with fraud once. Being linked to my primary savings account that was definitely a close call. Luckily the transaction did not go through because the debit card retail transaction function was disabled by me early on.

Anyway, for transaction in foreign currency, some of the good cards are :
- BigPay Prepaid MasterCard
- Merchantrade VISA Prepaid (competitive exchange rate; lower exchange rate on the app compared to cash exchange rate at their outlet)
- Hong Leong Bank I’m MasterCard credit card
- OCBC Premier debit MasterCard
- OCBC debit MasterCard
- FRANK debit MasterCard

Oh. Just noticed that ShopeePay can transfer to bank account.
Whats the limit for the transfer? do u know?

Don’t do that with ShopeePay. Many got their ShopeePay partially banned, as in Shopee blocks their account from getting reloaded with credit card.

I for one NEVER had any scam call from BigPay (via whatsapp call) before.
*
Your turn will come eventually because they seem to be doing the calls randomly. This scam has been going on for many months. My friend forwarded me his WhatsApp call log 3 months ago because he received one such call. Funny thing was, he never actually used his BigPay. He has a BigPay because I asked him to sign-up so I can earn the referral reward 2 years ago. Me on the other hand, am a heavy user of BigPay Prepaid MasterCard. And for the first time, “BigPay” called me via WhatsApp just 2 days ago, many months after the scam started.

Pertaining to this issue, currently the transaction description problem seems to be happening only to OCBC Titanium MasterCard. I did a couple reloads to BigPay MasterCard using Affin Bank Duo VISA and Standard Chartered Bank debit MasterCard just a few days ago and all posted transactions show BIGPAY MY-ECOMM.

I sometimes got phone calls, which I know is genuine, from banks asking to verify something. I always asked back, how do I know you are not a scam? So sometimes, it is a bit difficult but I always tell them I will call back.

Totally ignoring all unknown numbers are not exactly a very smart thing to do. There will be times that strangers call you and those happen to be genuine calls, be it postman, bankl or hospital (touch wood).

Just got my FRANK card two weeks ago and did a USD online payment.

My experience was FRANK debit card's foreign currency spending still being charged 1%, according to OCBC CS, the 1% is charged by mastercard, while there is no mark up from OCBC.

Bigpay foreign currency is at mastercard rate, with no mark up at all.

Are you having the same experience?
*
I never used my FRANK debit MasterCard for spending in foreign currency. But i had used Hong Leong Bank I’m MasterCard credit card once late last year and indeed BigPay Prepaid MasterCard had the lowest final rate, most likely due to the missing 1% fee.
