Just pump rm22 petrol at shell but amount deducted as rm200, how long it takes for the actual amount to be reflected?

When you pay through the self service kiosk at a gas station, there will always be a RM200 charge by the petrol company to cover for the amount of gas you're going to take. It's called a "deduction".

The “deduction” is actually a pre-authorisation hold and it only happens whenever a cardholder pays for petrol at a self-service pump. It is used to verify that the card is active and has sufficient credit prior to the transaction. The amount of the pre-authorisation is not a charge and no funds are debited from your card account, but the available balance on the card is temporarily reduced. Once you have completed pumping fuel, the actual amount of the fuel dispensed will be sent to your issuing bank. At this point, the actual amount will be debited from your card account and the pre-authorisation amount is cleared. However, it might take 3-4 days for the amount to be released back to you.

To avoid a pre-authorisation hold at self-service pumps, all you need to do is pay at the cashier, where the exact purchase amount will be deducted from your account.

So while waiting for this, my balance of 200-22=178 is stuck n unusable? Not going to use BP for petrol anymore.

Same goes to Debit Cards I think.

HSBC VS top up Bigpay considered as online, i.e., 5X reward points, equivalent to 1.67% cash back (based on 30000 point = RM 100 voucher) ,still not a bad deal when other cards are cashback-maxed

Is BigPay ok now? my friend activated the card today n received RM10 referral rewards. I see my referral rewards shown additional 1 user activated too.. but I didn’t receive the referral reward, I check the whole list, the total activated referral is not tally with the referral rewards received. So, confirmed I didn’t receive the RM10 referral rewards from my friend who activated today n I confirm he used my referral code.

My friend try to link big point acc too, but can’t link n shown something went wrong n try again later.

just received a call from BigPay at this hour. whether or not accidental transactions, i realised there's no way for me to prove it but what we know for sure is there are indeed transaction records that are missing and thus the big issue. they have acknowledged that there are transactions records that are missing from the app and are working on it.

do note that i still think BigPay is a good card and can further improve on the delivery of their service. as such, i have decided to accept their explanation and move on from this episode.

Why he deleted it?

well initially, he didn't think these prepaid card/e-wallet will have big enough user base to have a thread in lowyat. so no choice, but to be active in the old airasia prepaid card thread until enough posts for him to consider - and tadaa, now if you notice, in the title, they have added 'prepaid cards'. it wasn't there previously.

The thread is meant to share the information on BigPay prepaid card. Somewhere along the way we had a guest from BigPay itself and everyone got excited given how hot this product at this point of time. Note that this thread is not BigPay's avenue for complaints as it was mentioned before that for complaints do use BP's facebook messenger.

We do encourage a healthy discussion (or even strong discussions if you like) but I'll put a full stop to profanities, baseless accusations, pointless discussions & OT. Some use masking for "so-called" avoidance purpose but let's be more intelligent about it as it still carries the same meaning underneath. try use apps in the future, i got proof that total RM6 was deducted 2 X Bigpay Meal and 1 X Bigpay Baggage Discount with Premium Flex fare.

We should make this clearer.

Basically, there are usually processing fees that apply on bookings - regardless of how many pax are flying. PF are between 8 to 12RM per flight - so between 16 to 24RM on round trips. On top of that, there's also a RM2 discount per pre-booked meal and per pre-booked baggage.

Let's say... 2 people flying to Japan, 1 booking. Meals for both on each flight + 1 extra baggage for both.

If paid with a regular card, on top of the flight fare you will pay:
RM12 x 2 (PF return trip) + RM12 x 4 (2 meals each on each flight) + RM55 x 2 (baggage) = RM182

If paid with BigPay, on top of the flight fare you will pay:
RM0 x 2 (PF return trip) + RM10 x 4 (2 meals each on each flight) + RM53 x 2 (baggage) = RM146

Difference = RM36

Meal / bag discounts should apply both on AA's website and app. Unfortunately, they're the ones who handle the refunds for these cases
If you call our customer hotline and you provide all proofs, should be able to get a refund within 24h.

my booking last week also no mention discount for meal (part of premium flex). no additional add-on.

You guys should know that one booking entitle to RM32 max discount , right?

Not sure does it work like this but then normally if u choose to go foreign country, you will get charged by RM8 per trip.
So if you booked for 2 persons which will be RM8 x 4 = RM32 fully utilised.

So subsequently those meal and luggage RM2 won't get applied.

I haven't done any purchase before so above is just my assumption. I think Jonathon did mention before.

Seems like... Boost is potentially blocking BigPay as a top up source. Which is a bit of a low blow, but that's fine. You guys can complain directly to them Meanwhile, I'll see if we can add Boost as a top-up source for BigPay haha.
