Once customer can buta2 give out OTP there is really nothing service provider can do. Factually it is a 'you problem', even though most well-trained CS will jaga hati not to say it that way.

My family member has also done that before, kena sounding la. Where can simply trust random strangers (we teach this to children but somehow adult still can kena).

Basic security - OTP should never be given to anyone. Whether over the phone, over chat, over SMS, whatever. Most financial institutions will say this explicitly inside their OTP SMS.

Those that are genuine will call back and will explain exactly who they are, without asking you for information.

Half an hour ago I got half a dozen notifications for Steam Purchase and Steam charges to my BigPay. RM17.00 each. Straight away freeze and notify customer support. Firstly they ask if I have engaged with this merchant before (I said not through BigPay) and then they said transaction still Pending. If merchant does not make any claim on the fund, the fund will be released back to account within 10 days. If merchant does, then I have to file a dispute.

In response to my questions:-

Transaction was made 'by keying in the 3 digit CVV'. Dunno if this is main tikam or not. Definitely the physical card always in my possession. And I don't use BigPay for online transactions since 2018.

Transaction did not require OTP. When I challenge the CS that with a bank I can simply inform them that the transaction is not requested by me and they will follow up, their first line of reply "BigPay is not a Bank"

Anyway will see if it gets through la. Freeze card for now.

I am aware. That also supposed to mean that the risk is on the merchant who choose to not implement OTP.

Why you all so 'lucky' to get calls? I have in my family 4 card holder, only my father one time got this scam call before.

I believe if no details given they will have to close your account. This will heavily reduce the scam because they can easily see the real details of every BigPay account (including those who are receiving the scammed money), unlike now.

Can reload with debit card but not credit card, anyone else experiencing same?

As I said, debit card (public bank and Stan Chart) went through no problem.

UOB YOLO and Public Islamic Visa Platinum couldn't (do not honour message was the same). But YOLO could go through on all my other ewallets (TNG, Boost, Grab, Kiple, ShopeePay). Didn't try PIB Visa Platinum but defeinitely not yet expire.

You don't need a samsung phone to use samspung pay though. I think just buy galaxy watch can di (never tried, but I know it supports samsung pay on the watch).

If you already used that card on your own BigPay then IIRC it will trigger problem. Use a card which hasn't been used on BigPay before (even other name) no issue.

Previously (before changing to Master) 2% still not enough to cover (most cards ALSO have an additional charge on top of lousier forex, my previous testing some years ago was 5-6%). Have not used BigPay recently for foreign transaction so not sure what current situation is.

How many existing cards do you have listed there? Limit 5 cards IIRC.
