i'm going to top up RM1700 every month to get all the welcome points and quarterly bonus points worth 25k big points for the 1st year and retain as platinum member to get RM1 = 7 Big Points for the flight ticket

for topping up BP consider as local spend, which is RM3 = 1 Big Points

so topping up RM1700 = 566 (cc) + 34 (bp) = 600 Big Points

so 1st year can get 32.2k big points and 2nd year onwards will get 27.2k every year

is bp lower rate gain higher than a 2% cb card? i am still not convinced to make used of bp for foreign currency payment or even airasia booking, i am aware processing fee is quite costly, but if i take into consideration of travel insurance offered by any travel card, seem credit card can have more saving. unless cb fully utilised. and i also think cash is cheaper than bp, swipe or withdraw wise, especially if buying done in mid valley or bukit bintang area.

Why do you need to remit money to Singapore (I am assuming you are working there)? As others mentioned, there are cheaper ways to remit money to SG. Shop around and see. SG is a country which is quite card friendly except for their hawker stalls which are still using cash.
