QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jun 27 2019, 10:24 AM) Find a tax-free haven. Service Tax was introduced in 1975, not by Najib or Mahathir or LGE. Service Tax 2.0 (from 9/2018) doesn't apply on most of banking services including ATM withdrawal fee, service charge, IBG fee, cheque fee etc. If Prestopay charge RM2.12, it is nothing wrong as they can set any pricing. Just like Boost charges RM2, VCash charges RM1, Bigpay charges RM6. But if Prestopay charge RM2 + SST RM0.12, then it may be wrong as the basic service is not subject to SST.Do you receive any SST invoice/receipt (compulsory) from Boost? So it is not RM1.89+RM0.11. Meaning that they cannot simply charge this? must be SST compliant?

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jun 27 2019, 10:32 AM) Yes. GST applies to everything except exempted goods/services. SST applies to selected goods/services only. It is wrong to charge SST if the goods/services are not selected by Govt. So can report ah?

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jun 27 2019, 10:41 AM) Some professional services are subject to SST. Unless PrestoPay/Kastam insist that it is a part of "professional" service. Ask Kastam/Prestopay why PrestoPay charges SST! But make sure they are charging already, eg you have a copy of tax invoice/receipt. https://www.mysst.customs.gov.my/----- "Yes. A processing fee of RM2.00 (subject to SST) will be charged for every withdrawal (“withdrawal fee”). The withdrawal fee will be deducted from the withdrawal amount. NOTE: SST means sales and services tax as imposed under the Sales Tax Act 2018 and Service Tax Act 2018, as may be amended from time to time." It doesn't mean they are charging RM2+RM0.12.No really understand this part..

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Jun 27 2019, 10:50 AM) It is just a general statement. The Director of Kastam can add or remove the SST items from time to time, beyond control of any merchants or service providers. If it is not subject to SST, the statement is still valid but RM2(+RM0). So get a receipt showing they are charging RM2+RM0.12 then ask Kastam/Presto. Now get what you mean.. Thx! QUOTE(charlesj @ Oct 31 2019, 10:12 AM) Not really, I would say: Visa/MC 10% acceptance Unionpay 30% acceptance Wechat/alipay (china version) 99.9% acceptance *all data are just for illustration, not real data Btw, my friend is using Msia BOC Unionpay, always got problem.
End up I need to pay cash for him. Cash still accepted everywhere in china. Just withdraw cash from ATM with BP. Wow, you are so daring to bring 0 cash to china! Oh, unionpay can reload Alipay there, something new to me. How about wechat pay? Any idea how we can use there? Even it's UnionPay card, but some of the terminal/merchant in China only accept those UnionPay issued in Mainland China. Overseas issued UnionPay cards will not go thought. This including those UnionPay Cards issued in Hong Kong and Macau too..
