how reliable is the away door lock mechanism? coz i always tend to double check if all doors are locked once i parked my car and walk away....and I only check the back passenger door (i assume if that is locked, all doors are locked, am i right?)

I will say 100% it will auto lock. You have to understand what circumstances will cause it not to lock.

1) Key holder moving away from car (around 2 meter away from car) when others passanger not yet close the door.
2) All doors not closed tight when key holder move away from car.
3) You place your key beside to your phone, sometimes it wont auto lock. I suspect is because the phone's wave interfere with the key knob's signal.

Thats all I can think of currently,

Thanks for tips! I can try them all lol

Not sure why but i only get 8.4km/l on my 2.2D
I think it's due to I still using the very first tank of diesel, used up almost 1/4 only mostly citydrive, i guess not enough sample yet?

when warming up engine my 2.2D engine got weird sound (high pitch sound) other than normal diesel engine sound, last for 4-5 seconds then went away. It happens everytime i started engine and waited about 1min. Anybody noticed that?

This is perfectly normal..Called Mazda's "Accelerated Warmup" system..Only happens with cold engine starts.. Typically from being parked and allowed to cool down for long hours overnight. Doesn't happen every morning for me though..See video below..

Thanks for your video and explanation. But my high pitch sound doesn't sound like the accelerated warmup sound (high rpm engine sound). It sounds abit like a cat is screaming softly with asthma, lol dunno how to describe maybe best to record audio next time. usually i don't open my door when warming up my engine from cold start overnight. But one day i did and that's why i can hear that sound.

if my car has only drive total 500km (before its first service), I wonder is it okay if i drive to Genting? Is there any 'myth' that I should only go Genting at least after first car service? lol

Ah, finally it happened to my new car! Was driving up to Genting last weekend and a stupid lorry was furiously fast in the middle lane and rocks and sands start flowing from it and i was in the fast lane and in front of me there was a car driving parallelly with the lorry....and so I'm forced to tail behind the lorry and i heard dreadful rocks and sands hitting my car....(facepalm)

although it's normal and in most cases unavoidable if driving in highways, still heart break seeing the paint chipped on my bonet...ouchhh! dunno if there is any touch up service to fix that if i wanted to tongue.gif

Sorry to hear that.

But don't worry bro, we feel you.  console.gif

Nothing can protect our car from stone chip, unless one install protective film.

To me, I'll just repaint the whole car next time.  brows.gif

Agreed it's impossible to avoid that, unless don't go outstation (city drive is safer coz lorries can't drive too fast in traffic jam)

Yeah next time paint it with matte type, looks cool 😎

I can't help but bought myself a set of Ninja shades for RM280. Feeling too hot already getting rayed by the sun..

Even tinted also can't help much.. sad.gif
*
yeah same here, applied vkool elite on FWS thinking it's the BEST, mana tau still hot like roasted chicken under the sun. Not sure if original skytint is better or my vkool is fake (don't think so la coz I got 'cert' and it was installed by SA) whistling.gif

Is this applicable to our CX5 gen2?

Just did 2nd service at Old Klang Road. Free Nasi lemak and car wash, although the car wash is really poorly done. Can still see dirt stains...oh well at least free.

Also paid deposit for CarPlay, and found out if you join the Mazda Privilege Membership for RM100 you can get 15% off the CarPlay & Labour cost.
*
Carplay got come with Android Auto as well? or need to choose either one? Sorry i still don't understand how the deal works, but i would like to order from SC the next time i have my car service:)

Hi ALL,
I claiming insurance for my windscreen and driver side window. (Hit by flying stones...)
Being waiting for 2 weeks
Being told that HQ out of stock, need to import from JAPAN
Anybody faced the same thing before?
*
sad to hear that...flying stones from which highway?

i did claim for my previous car (toyota altis) before but from some random shop outside, regretted my choice because the replacement FWS was very badly installed and can hear wind blowing when i drive (not even fast), and then i went back complain and they helped me install the second time, end up the same! But no water came in when raining, so i not sure where the gap came from...was a mystery and end up selling my car. Very bad experience and that's why scared to get hit by stones now.

Hopefully HQ can install it perfectly for u. Let us know how it goes smile.gif

I need a phone mount for waze on my phone and the dashboard of cx5 is not flat except for far left so if driving alone really can't easily reach to my phone there lol

p/s: I haven't had time to install android auto and i feel phone waze is easier.

Got a few sellers in CX-5 FB groups sell this type of phone holders and I believed some members also use them. Price should be below Rm60 if you search around

I went for my first service recently at Mazda PJ (jalan 219), but I noticed after the service, I feel my car is not as powerful as before. I checked my service booklet they only changed engine oil (didn't specify what oil) and oil filter. My car is 2.2D and I already made sure the service agent knows it is diesel and he said they will use 0W-40 instead of 30 because bla bla (forgot what he said lol, something abt 40 is smoother).

I'm actually wondering...Could it be because they use engine oil for petrol mistakenly? I can't tell from my service booklet and if I ask the service agent he will certainly say it is 0W, but he is not the one servicing it, it's the technicians. Or, maybe just my 'illusion' that car is not powerful.......

Oh yes!
Makes more sense now.
I've done up to 40k servicing for my 2.2D, all at Bermaz Glenmarie and all the times they used Helix Ultra 0W-30 full syn
No idea why your SC recommends 0w-40 as it sounds fishy to me.
Mind to share which SC did you go?

Bermaz Motor Trading (PJ)
Lot 9 Jln 219,
46100 Petaling Jaya

https://mazda.com.my/ServiceDealer.aspx (if you filter by PJ it's the first one on the list, so I think it's legit)

As another guy replied earlier saying 0w-40 feels heavier but more protect engine, i will drive for a couple more days before decide what to do next. The reason i didnt go for glenmarie hq is because I read that alot of ppl complain here that HQ is very crowded and i scare they just cincai do, end up i feel the same here at pj tongue.gif

So i advise other ppl to go to HQ next time smile.gif
