Hi guys, just collect my cx5 last Friday.
Found out my passenger head rest is not horizontally even.
I swap around the head rest, it is not the seat problem.
This one can claim warranty? ask them to change a new head rest for me?

Agree with you Voncrane, the auto hold feature should be switch on (more useful) & istop disable by default respectively.

Speaking of istop i don't normally use this function & tried it yesterday in a long traffic jam. I was shocked the engine rattled & came alive after about 1 min i enabled istop. is this normal? i thought the engine will turn on only when we press the accelerator.

I also hate the istop light is always on the dashboard (amber - disable & green - enable). seems a bit cacat it is the only indicator light to be always lighted on the dashboard.
*
I found that if wait for too long, like your case around 1min, or if the weather is really hot. The engine will come alive itself.

I found a rattle sound around driver side’s window button there. You guys have?

It's not tht im not pushing hard enough, its the center rear seat doesn't attached to the left rear seat plus it doesn't hv the "click" sound when its attached like the one on the left and right rear seat. Im guessing something jammed inside the lock, will take to SC tomorrow to hv a check  unsure.gif ...
Oh BTW, do you feel the factory fitted powerboot opening and closing sound is loud?
*
Oh, I see. My rear seat lock also not tight. When sit on the rear seat, can hear the lock and clip's collide sound. Their lock really got quality problem.
Mine is tax free period price, so without powerboot.

Hi, want to ask diesel owner. When stop at traffic light etc, do you feel your engine sometimes vibrate different than usual? Very mild different vibration than usual, it feels like going to engine mati. But only once in like every 10-20 sec.

Nope.. Remains at ideal revs of around 750. I doubt it even moves when the aircon compressor kicks in or off..
*
So your car idle vibration feel remain the same all the time? at first I thought is the characteristic of diesel engine.
Will check if the RPM drop like what Duckies said.
Gonna ask the SC when I send in for services also.
Thanks.

Hello Everyone...
I just want some advice on which model to buy based on all your experiences.  I am looking at 2.0 GLS or 2.2 FWD.
Pls advice, thanks.
*
If money not a problem, get the 2.2D. If not because 2.2D AWD need to wait, I will get that instead of FWD.
Or you can consider your daily usage. I drive 80km highway daily and I get 2.2D.
If everyday drive within city less than 20km, 2.0GLS is more than enough.

TBH, I don't really feel any unusual vibrations except upon engine startup. After that, it's pretty much even. Just the grunt of the engine. Especially as I don't use the istop feature either. Don't mistake vibrations with sounds yah.. Tell you what, I'll monitor mine later this evening and report back.
*
thumbup.gif

Btw, I dont use istop, I dont use auto-hold, just step brake during traffic light.
Ya, It is just the vibration feel, not sound. The feeling is a bit like you drive manual car, but you release the clutch a bit too fast laugh.gif
Very mild vibration but it happens once every 10-20 sec, so it become very obvious to me.

Hmm. Happening every so frequently.. Means If present, I should be able to detect it often too.. Easier to diagnose then.. Will check and see how.. smile.gif

When the mild vibrate happens, the rpm remain the same all the time, around 800.

So I've checked and only extra vibrations I can detect is a slight one, from the aircon compressor kicking in and out every 20 seconds. Switching off the aircon and i don't feel the slight vibrations anymore. Testing was done after a sufficient drive with temp at normal 100 degrees and gear in park. Did in a quiet car park and forced myself to listen and feel harder than I've ever bothered to with any car.. But still.. NVH was perfectly fine by me.  biggrin.gif
Woh, thats really detail testing notworthy.gif
Thanks, i will test it with airocn off see hows is it.

I concur.. Silly Mazda logic.. At least, give people option to set how they want..
*
I think it is not Mazda, Cause bmw also do the same thing for this istop/ auto start stop thingy. There is no easy way to set the default as OFF.
Might be those car manufacturer agree together, or some law from EU or US required them to do so.

You guys know if it is possible to switch Lane Keep Assist System (LAS)as well as Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) OFF?
I set the LAS off (no more vibration from steering), but now the LDWS will alert me with the beep or some noise. Is there any way to mute it also?

I understand why the istop feature or similar is there and why it's auto on upon each start. Primarily to get better mileage and score on emissions tests. Not saying they shouldn't ship with it. They should still do so as some people love it. Just offer the option to switch it on or off at will.. Kinda like ECO mode on some cars. You push the button or enable within settings to activate it and it does its thing.

Need to check the settings later to see if LDWS can be disabled or muted.. If it's not officially possible, then have to seek out unofficial means. I know of none at the moment as I prefer both kept on as possible safety measures.. One never knows. smile.gif
*
thumbup.gif

Too bad the places I move around, lots of car park at road side, or some put chair/dustbin near the road side. Everytime when I tried to maneuver a bit, then LAS/LDWS will activate.
There was once at highway, infront has roadwork (they block wider than 1 lane). I was forced to drive on the marking, that LAS keep pulling my steering. That was when I decided I want to switch the LAS off shakehead.gif

i can permanently close for you if you wan to.

BUT, there is another not-so-annoying way to do so. Just uncheck the intervention, and set your LDWS mode to vibration. So it wont be that annoying, just feels like phone in silent mode.
*
Thanks for the offer, I just prefer not to permanently off it. When travel far, I will use it for safety precaution.

Mazda to recall 640,000 vehicles globally over diesel engine issue... Officially acknowledging the issue worldwide.

Same, around 10.8 moving up to 11.0. City driving, haven't brought it for long distance yet.

Anyway this car sucks for me, some of you might remember me complaining about rattling, vibration sound earlier.... after 1st service, managed to fix the dashboard one... but now other sound (at least 3 different spots?) coming from god knows where behind / side like a damn vibrating cellphone

I damn sayang this car like a little princess, won't even rev it so much or go too fast, every week wash

Mazda Jln 222 warranty process also a bit lame... unfriendly SC person... when I got back my car it was >40km additional driven (nevermind that) but greasy fingerprints everywhere inside and outside. I was supposed to get a free car wash with first service but what I got back was a partially fixed car with various flora on my windshield. Also, sand and pebbles on the 2 front passenger seat.

Not to mention, they left a very noticeable scratch on my gear panel (need to wait 3 months to order parts).

I lodged a complaint with their CS on all the above, so far just got to wait and see what kind of feedback they will give.
*
So unlucky to face this lousy SC, next time just go other SC. Dont let them earn your money (Mazda pay them for servicing your car)

I did my 1k services last week (I from JB). I inform them my driver side door got rattle sound when I book my appointment though phone.
On that day, I dint mention anything about the door rattle due to the lousy attitude of service advisor.
Afternoon when I collect the car, surprisingly the receptionist told me they already fix the door rattle. I think they fix before, so they able fix mine easily.
My point is, if you can pin point the rattle sound, they most likely will be able to fix for you. Just choose a better SC. If you have time, you can just book appointment and send in.

Just now check out CX5 at IOI city mall. Damm salesperson said mazda if u buy beginning, mid or end of year also no discount but they give u quality.
*
Stupid salesman, dont know how to do business.
Just go test drive, if you like just go for it.

Actually their lousy attitude also same as my services centre advisor, cocky as f*ck. Too bad JB here 2 SC but both own by same company, otherwise I will go to other SC for sure.
From my car, I feel quality also so so only. Got few quality problem here and there.
What Mazda good is their engine + driving feel.
