Hmm, basically if we purchase it by 14/6, we won't get the 6 years/120k km warranty?

Cos I also only found out about the RM3.6K rebate thingy if we made booking before 14th...

My wife is more interested in the additional 1 year warranty.

From what I understand, you get both the insurance rebate and the 6 years warranty and free service, do check with your SA though to confirm

Ah I see.

Yeah, planning to drop by this weekend before deciding to book it before 14.

Now just a matter of either opting for the 2.0 High or the 2.5 High.

Any thoughts or feedback? Initially was more keen on the 2.0 cos of the slightly cheaper pricing and more of the fuel consumption as this ride will mainly be used in the regular KL congestion...

Definitely the 2.0 high for me, more than enough for city driving and the occasional cross state drive

The 2.5 incurs some additional costs of the tires and road tax and there’s no difference in terms of equipment, i don’t mind topping up if there’s additional equipment. To me the choice is between the 2.0 high and the 2.5t haha

Hi guys, my left side mirror motor gave up recently, wouldn't unfold anymore... Mazda SC quoted RM720 to replace it, was wondering if I can get it replaced outside for cheaper?

You may try this shop at Cheras.

Yea, stopping short of the 2.2D and the Turbo which are the flagship models - wife isn't keen on the diesel... sweat.gif

I see, seems equipment wise is the same for the 2.0 H and 2.5 H... Yea, the 19" tyres... Hahaha looks nice and price also 'nice' when it comes to replacing them...

Need to convince her to think about it again cos I did mention she doesn't need that much power in the daily commute to work and back and asides from the occasional outstation drive via highway, the 2.0 ought to be just nice; after factoring in the costs like fuel/tyre replacements/etc.

Thanks for the feedback bro.

Hopefully able to join the CX5 gang soon - although not my own ride. laugh.gif

Kinda curious why the urgency to lock in by 14/6... hmm.gif SA keeps hinting to book it by 14th but my wife doesn't like to be rushed into making a decision.

They do know the discount is gonna potentially bring in more customers as well, especially once they release their official pricing.

That 3.6k rebate for insurance may seem attractive but that extra 1 year plus that 20,000 km service being dangled also seems very reasonable too.

The 5 years / 100k warranty does not include spark plug change. Yeap, from new to 5th year warranty, spark plug not changed.

Wondering if additional 1 year include it? Overseas, Mazda recommenda changing it at 120k for petrol engine. Spark plug easily cost rm400 onwards for 4 pcs.

I'm not trying to look down on 2.5H, but to me it's neither here nor there.
It has the same equipment list as 2.0H, other than the 2.5l engine and 19" wheel.
When comes to replace the tyres, the 19" can be had for Rm4xx/piece for Korean brand or Rm3xx for Indonesian, Thai or China-brand.

If most of the drive is city drive, the 2.0H should suffice.
If mostly interstate highway drive, should consider the 2.5T for speed and power or the 2.2D for the good fuel consumption if driving within the speed limit.

Nah, no worries on whether it's looking down etc - I do appreciate the feedback. It would seem like the 2.5H is in that spot where it's a neither a must-have or a standout model since the 2.0 H has the exact same specs and bells and whistles except for those 19" wheels and the 2.5 engine.

At the new price range, it's like RM 151K vs RM163K so it does seem like a big price to pay just for the nicer looking rims and a more powerful N/A engine...

Tyre-wise, would definitely not try to skimp when it comes to replacing them as safety and handling in wet weather is paramount. Thanks for sharing a rough idea on how much the price range is.

if that is the case, definitely the extra year of service and warranty. Plus I think might be worth taking your time over the purchase as during these uncertain times I see auto makers becoming more and more desperate so might be better deals out there in the coming months

yes, i've been wondering about it too. why the cut off on the 14th? i did mention to my SA that conti car dealers like Mercedes and VW are keeping their rebates in addition to the sales tax waive given by the govt. I don't understand the need for them to retract the existing offer as the sales tax waive means they can claim back those taxes and will not interfere with their profit. By keeping those rebates with the tax waive will only bring more customers. but now I think most potential buyers will stop short and wait for better offers once these car dealers become desperate.

I could use the rebate actually, since cash is king for me during this uncertain time sweat.gif

and my 15 year old car, I can't really push him that much. Now that we're back to normal at work, things are getting frenzy with the interstate travel coming in.

I wish I could wait till the end of the year but don't have a choice now haihh

I'm quite disappointed with the Japanese car dealers here... the sales tax waive is not affecting their income/profit, so why should they retract their existing rebates/offers? Conti cars however keep their offers and introduce the tax waive on top of that. If only their products are less expensive to maintain and reliable I would have gone straight to them.

its your call obviously, just have a hunch they'll get more desperate and thus may lead to better discounts in the months ahead.

And about Japanese car dealers, unfortunately true as most are run by cronies and are mass market models, they know they'll still sell so are of course trying their hand at squeezing as much as possible, good selling models tax rebates are held back as much as possible as evident by P2's pricelist, expect the rest to follow suit

Japanese car makers shares in Msia are mostly owned by GLCs

One thing about P2 though - their Myvi is entering > 3 years already and the price is still going strong.

Bought my car last year at zero discount... hmm.gif

It's a decent and peppy little car though. A nice change to have a decent specced car despite it's size.

Of course, can't compete with the refinement of the Mazda - the minute I test drove the CX30 and CX5... Wow... wub.gif

If you compared side by side, CX 30 have better build than CX 5 especially the leather texture if my memory served me right. Since you mentioned most of the time travel in city traffic jam, CX 30 is best suited because the same 2.0 NA engine but cx 30 is lighter than cx 5, thus you save more fuel. CX 30 also got more i-activsense than cx 5 if you don't mind for a little extra. Women drive cx 30 very nice.

Haha. Yea, I kinda liked the HUD speedometer. My first time experiencing it when I test drove the car.

The steering wheel on the CX30 was nice too - not so thick but felt just nice in my grasp.

If only the pricing wasn't that exorbitant. Haha. I only test drove the base spec CX30 that day but it felt pretty solid to me.

My wife didn't like the back seats of the CX30 cos they felt too upright and can't be adjusted. To be frank, I actually was the one who convinced her to look at the CX5 also cos the pricing was around the CX30's pricing yet with more space. laugh.gif
