Firstly.. Congratz on joining the club...   TLDR...Just relax and enjoy the ride. As for merch, got the usual... full tank, Cig lighter powered Tyre inflation machine (which I tried using once..Waited so long.. End up just drove to the Petrol station less than a minute away and pumped all four tyres in less time.. haha), emergency med kit, some discount coupons for tinting (didn't use those either), and iirc, a torchlight? Unsure.. But yeah.. You might get an umbrella if you ask.

Secondly, you are on the right track... Check EVERYTHING..But this would work better IF the car has not been registered in your name yet. Then you really can literally turn it upside down... Like suggested, make sure there's ample lighting and check the paint over proper. DCB is prone to show swirls, mark it up. Anything you don't feel comfortable about? Voice your concerns on the spot and ensure they replace with brand new one or simply arrange for a different vehicle. You can even request for whole body respray.. It's your money.. Just don't be an "a-hole" about it.. That is the extreme version. If you aren't the type? Then better you don't look for faults, cuz if you go looking? you'll definitely find one..All brands and models are prone to this, even hand crafted wait 3 years for production cars..haha.. This WILL ruin your new car experience. 

Now, since you mention collecting..probably means the car has already being registered in your name. So not much table flipping you can do.. .. But you can still inspect the car with said torchlight and refuse to sign collection docs till you are satisfied. With any luck, you'll only find one or 2 things amiss.. At that point, they'll be quite eager to please and will listen to your demands. But once you sign the docs, collect and drive off? You become at their mercy.. Still can flip table.. Just need a bigger table to flip.. 

From what I understand, you get both the insurance rebate and the 6 years warranty and free service, do check with your SA though to confirm

Yea, stopping short of the 2.2D and the Turbo which are the flagship models - wife isn't keen on the diesel... 

I see, seems equipment wise is the same for the 2.0 H and 2.5 H... Yea, the 19" tyres... Hahaha looks nice and price also 'nice' when it comes to replacing them...

Need to convince her to think about it again cos I did mention she doesn't need that much power in the daily commute to work and back and asides from the occasional outstation drive via highway, the 2.0 ought to be just nice; after factoring in the costs like fuel/tyre replacements/etc.

Hi there, Im a new user and also quite a noob user of a CX-5.    I'd like to know how to activate the camera function when cars drive too near to me.  Sometimes the camera is activated and sometimes not.  So wondering if it has anything to do with driving speed (to activate this function).  Thanks.

BSM is a yellow warning light on your side mirror when there is obstacle at blind spot, it will give a warning beep if you try to change lane.
nothing to do with camera.

White color is hard to clean and maintain. IMO DCB and Soul Red is the best distinct color for CX5
