if roma want sumone who can replace montella... get this man la.... furthermore spaletti had said he is this man's long time fans...... we dont mind to share stars as our mission to make 3 italian up to UCL semifinals...... Marco Boriello looks like mexes having problem marking him toooo....
yes agree... basically Serie A standard keep dropping... i did support all club from Serie A, to see at least few italian up to UCL...
forza italia... forza juventus , inter , ac and as roma
im oso a bit shocked by roma last night. Throwing away the 2-goals lead. Even though i'm a Bianconero but it pleased me when italian team doing well in europe. So i hope roma will trash that "whatever their name is" team like they trash kaa gent few weeks ago
the league finally kicked off... n we off with a bad start against Genoa.
Highlights :
didnt get to watch the match coz of some issue of my home connection, from the highlights looks like very entertaining and enjoyable match. Totti wasted some really glorious chances and Amelia, once again, was superb against us. damn.
the centerback combo was Andreolli + Burdisso, as Mexes was suspended and Juan injured... heard that Burdisso did well, while Andreolli once again disappointing. well well well, when will we get to see Doni + Mexes + Juan again ?
so, the transfer market closed... n as expected we didnt made any major signings.
we did got 2 new guys in though... but i dont expect they will play much to be honest.
1. Bogdan Lobont, 31 years old Romanian international GK. 1 year long loan from Dinamo Bucharest. 2. Fabio Zamblera, 19 years old Italian forward from Newcastle... as far as i know he never played for the Magpies.
pretty much 2 pointless signings for me. Lobont might be useful to get rid of Arthur, but Zamblera ? who the heck is this kid ? oh my.
Luciano Spalletti: I Have Resigned From Roma The Italian has quit his position as coach of Roma, and Sky Sport Italia claim Claudio Ranieri will replace him... Sep 1, 2009 11:58:36 AM Roma coach Luciano Spalletti still able to put on a brave front despite the club's slow start to the season.
Roma coach Luciano Spalletti still able to put on a brave front despite the club's slow start to the season.
Luciano Spalletti has stepped down from his position as coach of Roma, and he confirmed his resignation with a brief statement to Sky Sport Italia.
"I handed in my resignation and Roma accepted it instantly," the coach told reporters.
Spalletti met with Roma president Rosella Sensi at the Villa Pacelli in Rome alongside director Daniele Prade. The reunion lasted little over half an hour as the coach informed the club of his decision.
The meeting came within hours of an earlier gathering involving Giallorossi chiefs and former Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri.
Prior to Spalletti's meeting, the 'Tinkerman' reportedly discussed terms with the club and he is likely to take over from the Tuscan. All that is missing is an official statement as the Spalletti era comes to an end.
The Italian took charge at Trigoria in 2005. He recently penned an extension with the club, but he has left with just two games into the season.
On Sunday, Spalletti hinted that he had lost the dressing room after claiming a number of players were not following him.
Ranieri's appointment is expected to be made official within the next few hours.
Ranieri had confirmed that he already reached an agreement wif the club to be the new manager, 2nite we'll get the official annoucement and presentation.
oh well... its a sad day for us Romanista. Spal had done so much for us in the past few years. i admit that i got frustrated and annoyed by some of his questionable selections and tactics, but heck i never really wanted him to go.
Romanista will always remember the disastrous 2004/05 season where we were once in danger of relegation, n hav 4 different managers throughout the season. Spal is the one who came in next to steady the sinking ship n installed orders into the locker room. Not only we were able to play as a team again, he intro the unique 'striker-less' formation made us play 1 of the most entertaining football in euro, as well as catapult Totti's career that he become 1 of the deadliest striker now.
some highlights of Spal with Roma :
- break the Serie A record of consecutive win with 11 wins in a row (althought the record had been broken by Inter later). - reach the CL quarter finals for 2 consecutive season, something that the Scudetto-winning Capello can't manage to do. - the magical CL nights in Lyon and Madrid. - back-to-back Coppa Italia victory over Inter - league win against AC in San Siro... 1st in over 20 years.
we'll remember u, Luciano. i wish 1 day u'll return to Olimpico. Forza n Grazie Luciano.
