Guys, just wanna ask that did you buy insurance for your router when you buy it from taobao?

Insurance that cover the item if it happen to be missing during the courier from China to Malaysia?

If yes, how and where do we buy it from?

I'm using a 3rd party forwarder since taobao/tmall won't direct ship their router to Malaysia. But the forwarder I use didn't provide insurance service~

btw i'm using this taobao forwarder warehouse..
https://elogisticscn.com/index.php?route=common/home

in case anyone wanted to find 1..
it has malaysia's bank account easier to send money (maybank)
the CS can communicate in english quite well.. so for me chinese banana.. this website works great.. and it's in english too..

if u guys got other cheaper than this website.. can share to me? thanks
*
Nice share...

How do you find their service? Did you try their insurance services before?

Their currency exchange rate is slightly higher (0.626), whereby pay via taobao is 0.606. But pay via taobao, there is a service charge applied (CC - 3%, Online Bank Transfer - 1.5%). So end up might be not much different also.

But your forwarder do offer insurance service which is useful for those who is buying expensive items. I ask around normally insurance is charge base on 3%, and your forwarder is 5% for items above RMB 400...

Anyway, what is the most reliable local courier among Skynet, GDex, DHL, Poslaju, ABX, with speedy delivery, taking care of the parcel and minimum missing parcel?

i use before skynet gdex and poslaju.. but so far the best for me is poslaju.. since poslaju cheras branch is behind my office..
taking care of the items? so far 2 or 3 items missing.. only.. 1 is s8 screen protector another i forgotten is what... but low price items..
normally is from warehouse that's missing i assume. coz when reach me the  packaging is sealed.. with forwarder's sealant tape..

btw this forwarder i'm using u got option to pick whether they help u to throw the boxes which coming with the items to minimize the weight and size.. so that u can have the cheapest shipping

Actually I'm not that picky on local courier provider, as long as it arrive safely. But this round, my item is costly and I have to be caution to minimize the risk. I remember I read some online before, few of our local courier provider did have the record to throw buyer's parcel into their house if there is no one there to collect it when they arrive at your place. I just couldn't recall which one...

So far if I buy from shopee, poslaju is getting better in their service recently. Nowadays they do call me when they are otw to deliver my parcel. But not sure whether they will deliver router from taobao or not as it is sensitive items...

My regular forwarder assure me that missing parcel is very very rare, and in case it really happen, there is a USD 100 insurance cover... I was like, USD 100 only? My router is going to cost over RM 1k, thats why I'm consider to have it cover by insurance...

Nowadays is norm that forwarders are providing free unpack the boxes from taobao seller, with condition that they will not be responsible if anything spoil or missing.

Anyway, how do you contact with your forwarder? By wechat, aliwangwang or? I added their wechat from the website u gave, but turns out it ask me to add another person, which has different webpage, but look quite similar with the one you recommended. Need to make sure is talking to the right person and forwarder company....

normally i chat with them via email.. they respond to me quite fast.. but i hardly talk to them.. only when i wanted to check whether is my item under sensitive category, try ask them to send to your office.. so far my items ok..

p/s : what router u getting at 1k? i tot RT-ac86u = rm500?

try email them via  fish.ye@d-exi.net
her name is fish

Eyeing one Gt-AC5300... Now is RMB 2699, during 11.11 will become RMB 1??6, which I guess might be RMB 1996 and hopefully lower. And I think is quite a bargain since local MY warranty selling around RM2.2 ~ 2.4k

For those got problem with taobao direct shipment, yo may try this china third party warehouse

www.rapidmy.com

I has been using for this for many years, so far not much issue.
For the route must select sensitive item where the charges is Normal fee + sensitive fee.

Thanks, will look into this too~

between lyra trio and rt-ac86u aimesh 2x
which is better?
looking 1 for my father house..
which is semi-d 2floor house..

own usage maybe using ac86u since 50% cheaper than malaysia retail..
*
I can't give much opinion as currently I'm only using standard router which bundled from Unifi.

No idea about the lyra trio, but why I go for GT-AC5300 instead of 2 AC86U is mainly because I'm not a tech savvy. So I prefer to keep things simple...

Initially I'm looking at AC86U, then slowly when I realize the prize from taobao/tmall is almost 50% cheaper compare to Malaysia, I start to look at other models too...

Suggest you youtube on how the aimesh work, and if it fit your needs, then can go ahead with 2 AC86U.

For me, I'm only staying in a 2sty house with about 2800sf built up. So I think the GT-AC5300 should be able to cover most of my current blind spot area compare to the bundled router from Unifi~

Crazy Sales on TMall during 11.11

RT-AC86U : RMB 789 (1st 100 units)
RT-AC5300 : RMB 1199 (1st 100 units)
GT-AC5300 : RMB 1799 (1st 100 units)

For those who interested with the RT-AC5300, can try your luck during 08.11, they are offering at RMB 799, but only LIMITED to 1 unit!!!

Just wondering will their system able to handle the traffic? Cause is my 1st time buying there during such event. A bit worry it will be like some of our local promo time, their website load like snail from booking till payment...

Just checked with their customer service, the price still subject to change.
Need to refer to the price on that day itself.
*
Are you checking with the Official Asus Tmall store?

I did refer to few other tmall store which sell Asus router too, for GT-AC5300 this model all is pricing it at RMB 1799. Some store even gurantee to return the price difference if you happen to find cheaper price compare to them.

So I guess mostly will be the final price liao. But of course if they manage to lower it on that day, it would be even better...

Hopefully my 1st 11.11 purchase will have a pleasant experience....

Checked with ASUS official shop.
Other shop also got the price gurantee, mean if now u buy with 799, on 11.11, sell 750, they will return 49 to u.
*
Yup, which is why my guess is the price they offer now for 11.11, should be the actual selling price on that day. Unless they bring it lower again.

Now all stores are still selling at non promo price yet. Did Official Asus Tmall store offer price guarantee too? Didn't really notice that. So far only 1 store that put this offer in writing~

Bro, last time your AC86U is direct shipping or using forwarder ady? Can't recall it.

This round so far I see most of the seller from Tmall won't provide direct shipping anymore.

Anyway, how is ur AC86U perform? Speed and coverage wise? I hope that the GT-AC5300 will be able to cover 90% of my house area~

Maybe other can give in some opinion~

I didn't buy from Taobao. I bought from Lazada at RM569.10

user posted image
So far so good, no issue whatsoever. 12 devices connected at all time. Coverage about 5 ~ 10% better than my previous RT-AC68U
*
Oh, lucky you that got the attractive pricing... How is the warranty provided? 3yrs also?

QUOTE(jutamind @ Nov 7 2018, 08:32 PM)
Any idea how much is the tax?
*
Frankly speaking, I have no idea at all...

So far all my previous purchase from taobao was through, agent (at the very beginning, when I totally no idea how the entire flow work), then my very last purchase on 2017 was through forwarder.

So this time is my 2nd time buying by my own, and using forwarder service. According to my forwarder, sensitive items (routers are consider as one of it) when arrive at Malaysia custom, if you are paying them with normal shipping fee, mostly will be hold by custom and will be impose tax. Whereby if you engage their service and pay the special fee dedicated for sensitive items, it will be very minimal chance of getting hold by custom. Don't let the special fee frighten you, it is just slightly more from the normal fee.

Only this time I might buy insurance for the router since it cost over thousand. I got one of the insurance agent contact from my forwarder and they charge 5% from the insure amount as premium. Which is slightly higher compare to some of the Malaysia forwarder charge. Still not finalize yet, as I have few question not yet ask them. Hopefully everything will be smooth on and after 11.11~

Happy shopping~

their website can handle efficiently.. small matter.. tried rebut to buy stuff havent encounter problem like in malaysia..

ac86u rmb789? not bad..
*
Official Asus Tmall even have 2 voucher, RMB 50 for RMB 10 and RMB 100 for RMB 10. But these 2 voucher only available daily on 20.00, limited to 5 for each only...

Today was my fifth day trying my luck to get one, but still out of luck...

If got the RMB 100 voucher, meaning RMB 1799 - RMB 100 = RMB 1699 only for GT-AC5300...

vlink seem nicer rate right?

i convert the rmb that show at the top of the website.. then exchange rate the amount they calculate on my item shipping weight
then i transfer it via maybank to their malaysia counterpart.. then they will ship out with in hours.. very fast after u transfer in..
*
From what I saw, seems like the 1st one is more nicer. But that was yesterday, today I didn't check it out...

Mostly I will stick my with previous forwarder 1st. Cause they are really helping me a lot on sorting out my queries...

Plus their reply on aliwangwang almost instant, feel quite confident~

Many are aiming for AC86U, instead of AC68U. I wonder why, if you're not aiming to go beyond 500mb Unifi?

Did I miss out something somewhere?
*
I was eyeing on AC86U too, and according to Unifi thread, this model is sufficient for 800MB.

Just that the price for GT-AC5300 makes me feel like this model more worth it for long run...

quad core processor, more ram, more ports, extra 1 5GHz band, more USB ports, more antennas (which give wider wifi coverage, cross finger)....

I.E. the RT-AX88U?

Price for 11.11 of this model is RMB 2699, which cost around RM1.7K inclusive of shipping back to MY.

I did ask Asus about this router at their FB, and according to them it will be available in Malaysia around mid of December, price is not sure yet.

Only if Official Asus Tmall is going to ship this model immediately after I place my order, maybe I will consider it. But they told me this model is currently pre-order in China, and only will ship out after 20th Nov. Not sure are they tell the truth, cause I see under the review section, already someone bought and using it...

So are you joining the GT series too?

True though...

Lets see any promotion for this model when Asus launch it in Malaysia~

But I predict it will be ard RM2.5k to RM2.8k, judging from what they price it on current model~

For those sensitive items, confirmed Taobao direct shipment cannot, if can u are super lucky.

u need to get a local agent, where the items u purchased will delivery to China local agent warehouse with no cost.
And u need to ship the items from that third party warehouse to Malaysia either through Air or Sea. for sensitive item, Air will need about 5-7 days while Sea normally 25 days.

The charges is normal shipment charges + sensitive charges.

U can try the agent i used for many year at "www.rapidmy.com". Bought tone of sensitive products before and no issue to delivery to Malaysia.
*
Actually there is one store at Tmall, the CS is very aggressive. Now their price is RMB 2699, and will become RMB 1799. I ask them can I get that price now due to I worry during 11.11 will be super congested on the shipment part.

They offer me to pay the full amount now, and reimburse back to me the difference during 11.11, by credit it back to alipay. In the same time, they can offer direct shipment for me, even at their page it stated no direct shipping.

In the end I didn't accept the offer due to, my alipay is not verify, so cannot be use. And secondly is, when I ask them regarding the direct shipment, whether will be confident to pass through Malaysia custom without being hold and tax, they can't promise me this, so I opt to wait till 11.11...
