wah. bro. finally found someone with similar issues.

Are u using 2017 model of macbook pro also?
when did your problem happen? My prob happened since the start of MCO for not too long that time.

heat? yes, could be a possible issue. however, i find that this should a manufacturer defect. Cannot be all are having the same issues now.

I am still waiting for apple store orchard to open, I will try to fight for free replacement of the display.
*
Bro how did you managed to fix this issue? Did Apple fix it for free? I have same issue, screen ghosting, when leave the screen for a while the window gets stuck there, I need to run screensaver for sometime for it to disappear.

Wow that’s a good deal for 3.8k, is it brand new or display unit?

I think, its refurbished unit from demo. Macbook Pro 15-inch 2018 also now they sell at RM4.5k but its way above my current need (and budget) sweat.gif

Just wanted an above average laptop that can stand the test of time and also can hold a punch a bit hehe.. Almost bite the bullet and bought Thinkpad

Hey I’m not trying to discourage you but would like to inform you know that MacBook Pro 2018 comes with the butterfly keyboard that will fail over time and the repair program only lasts 4 years. The MacBook Pro 2018 also has a known display flex cable issue that might cause the display to fail after opening and closing too many times. I’m not sure if they replace the hinge mechanism during “refurbishment” or give you a new battery, but if they don’t I’ll be very cautious. A new MacBook Air with M1 and education discount (however with 256G storage) is RM3.9k which is miles ahead in performance (check out M1), battery life, keyboard durability and the only lacking issue is the touchbar and boot camp support

Thanks for the heads-up, yeah I'm well aware (just found out from YouTube review bye.gif ) that MacBook with butterfly keyboard has the tendency to fail. Initially I thought that Apple will sustain the repair program for many years down the line, now when you said only support within 4 years a bit discouraging. Cross my fingers hopefully they rectify previous known issue. Already made purchase yesterday, cannot turn back already haha (worried laughter)

Yeap all the points given were important to take note, since you’ve already purchased it, just enjoy the mac, it’s still a very good laptop that’ll last you a while…smile.gif

M1 MacBook Air is relatively cheap and very good in performance, even better than previous MacBook Pro model?! Thanks. Good to know this as I too was thinking of buying the clearance MacBook Pro. Perhaps that's the reason that the price dropped to even below 50%.

Hey guys. Finally ditched win and got myself a 2nd mbp mid-2012 for 1.2k last week. My first mac! biggrin.gif

Wow, for a 10year old hardware, the performance is still amazing!

Haven't tried any of my usual apps eg AutoCad, PS, etc yet since quite busy with puasa etc. Anyway, hope to learn lots of tips and tricks from everyone here smile.gif
