QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ Oct 15 2018, 03:49 PM) I see. It is better for me to ride on trainer in Hotel if that’s the case. I will be in London and Manchester as well for a week. If you have experience cycling there, please share the route, etc. Thanks alot. I wouldnt advice cycling in Zone 1 London at all if you've not had experience manuevering around tourists and buses that are out to kill you. If you want a good ride, start at Richmond Park near Putney/Wimbledon, head southbound towards Surrey for Box Hill. Once you get to Surrey you'll be in very cycle friendly roads.Manchester / Yorkshire direction, loads of nice roads to ride around, lots of nice lumps to climb as well. Drivers this side of England especially in Yorkshire are better with cyclists compared to London. Easy to ride out to Peak district, nice quiet roads. When in Manchester don't forget to visit home of British Cycling, the velodrome. Just opposite a football club that is apparently famous called Manchester City (never heard of them before). |

QUOTE(chinti @ Oct 16 2018, 10:14 PM) I will be away for 2 weeks and when I back on 2 Nov, 200km is waiting on Nov 4 for Audax BRM200. Without training for 2 weeks, I surely will not finish this. I prefer to ride outside but in case outside is not as I expect or busy, trainer will do good. An hour a day on trainer is enough to keep me fit. This post has been edited by Seng_Kiat: Oct 18 2018, 05:40 AM |

I will be staying in Bayswater and from the map, it takes me 38 mins to reach there. Is it safe for me to just cycle to Richmond Park or should I take tube? Are there allow bicycle to be on board? As in Manchester, I will be staying nearby Manchester Piccadilly. Any recommend route should I take? By the way, how safe is London and Manchester for cycling in terms of robbery, etc? Thanks a lot bro. |

Not the best option to be riding around end of October outdoors in UK, you will need cold weather kit or you will get very very wet and very cold. QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ Oct 18 2018, 05:38 AM) Thanks bro for the useful input. Bayswater? Don't bother bringing your bike, most gyms around have good spinning bikes / wattbikes for training and they normally do weekly passes, just bring bib shorts and cycling shoes with spd cleats. Bikes are not allowed on tube except for overground or some specific lines limited stops at non-peak times which means you will have to cycle, and again I wouldn't suggest riding in London if you're not used to it (unless you're very good at CX or MTB riding)I will be staying in Bayswater and from the map, it takes me 38 mins to reach there. And Manchester Piccadilly is super crowded, if you want to ride, only good time to make your way outwards is morning on weekends when it's less busy on roads, or drive further out to start riding. Get a gym pass in this case instead. Robbery, won't happen. Theft of parked bikes, very common. If you were coming in Spring/Summer, bring your bike. If you're coming now, keep your bike at home because rain is everywhere and temperatures are hovering around 10C. |

QUOTE(undentifiedKC @ Oct 22 2018, 11:23 AM) Try looking on Facebook for Ez Rider or Team Magnum. The former usually rides from Bukit jelutong northwards. While Magnum usually rides from Semenyih to the Lekas highway through the surrounding hills. Alternatively is to look for a group ride in putrajaya if you prefer flat riding and speed. |
