Total loss and it was a 39 years old missile boat. Better buy new one.

A T-38C Talon II trainer aircraft crashed after it departed the runway before taking off from Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, Tuesday morning, the base said in a release.

The two pilots of the T-38 ejected from the aircraft. One pilot, U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Charles Walet, was taken to United Regional Medical Center in Wichita Falls and is reportedly stable, according to an update from the base posted on social media Tuesday afternoon. The other, German air force Maj. Christian Hartmann, was taken to the Sheppard Clinic and treated for minor injuries.

Walet is assigned to Vance Air Force Base in Oklahoma, and is temporarily assigned to Sheppard.

The plane, from the 80th Flying Training Wing, crashed at about 10:13 a.m. local time at the Sheppard air field, the release said.

“We are grateful both aircrew members are safe, and for the outstanding response from our fire, security and medical personnel,” Col. Lendy Renegar, vice commander of the 80th, said in a release. “We also greatly appreciate any expressions of support from leaders and members in our local community.”

Indonesian Air Force will receive the first 2 Su-35 fighters in August 2019

CAMTO, September 11th. According to the approved schedule, the Indonesian Air Force will receive 11 ordered Su-35 fighter jets in three batches of two, four and five units in 2019-2020.

According to Detik.com, referring to the statement of the press-secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Indonesia Brig. Gen. Totok Sugiarto (Totok Sugiarto), the first two fighter jets should arrive in the country in August 2019, the remaining - in 2020.

Earlier, Indonesian Defense Minister Rjamizard Ryachudu said that the first two Su-35s are planned to be demonstrated at the military parade on October 5, 2019, dedicated to the celebration of the anniversary of the Armed Forces of Indonesia.

SHAH ALAM: Shepard says Malaysia Bought Javelins. Shepard Media – a UK based aerospace, defence and security industry publication – is claiming that Malaysia has purchased the Raytheon FGM-148 Javelin anti tank guided missile. In its subscriber only part of its website it claimed that Malaysia were among the countries that purchased the Javelin. The site says Malaysia purchased 60 missiles.

I do not have susbcribtion to the Shepard Media website but its editor had kindly put up a screenshot of the Javelin page which listed Malaysia as one of the countries that had purchased the missile.

Perhaps Shepard got the information from the manufacturer about Malaysia buying the Javelin. It is not like that we know about every purchases the Defence Ministry makes. There was no heads up when we bought the LAW, MAPAM and even the NLAW

I was told sometime back that as an advanced ATGW, the Javelin must be purchased through the Foreign Military Sale program, resulting in a sale notice via the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. I checked the DSCA website and there is no notice of a Javelin sale to Malaysia.

It had a notice from 2012 which states:

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress November 15 of a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Indonesia for 180 Block I Javelin Missiles and associated equipment, parts, training and logistical support for an estimated cost of $60 million.

As the notice was six years old, it is likely that Indonesia had taken delivery of the missiles. It is interesting to note that the Wikipedia Javelin page did not list Malaysia as a user though Indonesia correctly listed though with 189 missiles.
