Old kl condo and some pj condo are usually a pet friendly condo (1 eye blind 1 eye open policy)

If you want new pet friendly condo, can try dcp condo or mk condo. 😜

Well, TS requested along OKR and Jln Puchong. DCP or MK won't be able to fit his criteria, even though quite a number of them are dog-friendly.

To Riku, maybe you can try condos around Kuchai Lama or Taman Desa? I can also recommend my condo, Robson Condominium, but its 23 years old and situated at Jln Syed Putra/Federal Highway. More like at the tail end of OKR dy.

At your budget of RM 1,500, are you planning to rent a whole unit or you don't mind sharing the unit with other people? Because if you're planning to do the latter, it is better to find a friend who is living in a condo you find convenient and bunk in with him. Less headache compared to sharing a unit with a complete stranger.

I know at my condo, the management is fine with it, but its also because a lot of neighbours there raise dogs. Small breed type, tho.

But they're not allowed to roam around at the facilities.

Not sure how other condos handle dogs, but I'm sure there are bound to be dog owners among them.

DBKL allow small pet in highrise but Selangor dont think so. And even under KL, if majority is Muslim then maybe a big challenge.

If you are still searching, and don't mind Subang Jaya which is at the extended west end of Old Klang Road, a 3 rooms apartment renting at RM1,400/month. Management and neighbours would not complain if you take care of the poo/pee & smell and your dog don't bark too much. Good thing here is that there is a park with jogging track next to the apartment where you can walk your dog.

I think it has to be one or the other, or just ban pets altogether. If both are allowed, I'm sure it'll end up with random skirmishes between cats and dogs (and pity the pet owners). hmm.gif

The dogs which are permitted are usually the small breeds, tho. That's the rule my condo's management enforced for those rearing dogs there.

as long as the dog can be carried in the shopping bag, then you are allowed to keep?

if needed to be leashed, then its a big no no?

Owners that have pet should take a really good care of them otherwise, dont have any pet at all. Dont let your pet poop/pee other place than your own home, if really want to poop outside please clean it. be a civilized person. Dont let it bark non stop and early in the morning / midnight.

this whole week in my taman whatsapp group, neighbours complaining day n night whose dog poop on the grass, infront of gate, dog barking really early in the morning. So far my row have no problem. Just sharing thumbup.gif

If you cannot take care of your pet, dont have it. Doesnt matter if management let you or not thumbsup.gif

I'm not living at DPC, but I've been there and seen dogs and their owners walking them at their park.

As for dog size, that is my condo's management decision. So far I haven't seen residents bringing down larger dogs from there, though. From my experience, most of them rear small breed dogs.

And I didn't say anything about being leashed or not. I'm just saying that it's a dog's nature to chase cats, which is true.

That was what my friend who lives in dpc told me and he lives in landed.

If yr dog cant fit into bag, you cant keep.

Not sure if the same policy applied to smds bungalows or mansion enclave.

I thought that landed houses have a larger space, including the back yard, where you can keep dogs regardless of size. First time I hear GnG houses also have this restriction.

But from my last few visit to Central Park, I do see owners with big dogs walking around, though. Not sure if they come from one of the landed houses in DPC or from elsewhere.

Residensi Desa is another pet friendly condo. It's in Kuchai Lama, near Happy Garden and OKR. As long as the pet is kept clean and well behaved, neighbours here wouldn't mind. If anyone is interested, contact me (I'm selling mine which I have bought for my own stay).

There are 3 phases of individual titled enclaves in dpc...
There you cant restrict pet....at least not more than 1 pet for intermediate homes.

Plus smds you can keep 2.

And other kaptong homes...that come to dpc.

My tenant at OCP has 3 dogs, a Golden Retriever, a Border Collie and a German Shepherd. All 3 are British sized.

They were told to put a muzzle on the GS when walking in the common areas in case it attacks one of the smaller dogs. Only thing it is the smaller dogs that has attacked it instead.

They did have 2 Rottweilers as well but those weren't allowed by the JMB.

Plenty of residents at the high rise residential buildings own dogs that are bigger than your average toy dogs, no issue any longer.

Walking in the park also no issue.

Some people don't really care despite the condo management rules which disallow pets within the vicinity of the building. A friend staying in a particular condo sent me this photo. He said not only he hears howling of dogs from several units (estimated 4-5 units have dogs), but he stumbled upon this rather big dog sitting on the staircase. Apparently the owner has let his dog sleep on the staircase. Not sure how cleanliness is being handled when the dog needs to go to the toilet.. in this case some grass in the Taman. If the dog is tied securely and cannot move from the location at the staircase, the place will stink in no time.

Wow, this is terrible. Feel really bad for the dog and also the residents of that condo. These kinds of problems can only resolved if the management is firm in enforcing its rules.

The right thing to do is to report this to the condo's MC along with the above photos. Should be able to catch the culprit soon as the fire exits, doors and common property areas are monitored by CCTV.

It's amazing that owners can resort to doing this sort of thing. The management of the condo would be seriously lacking if we see this trend where dogs are tied to the common areas of condo or apartment. It may be still acceptable to have cats or small dogs kept inside the units irrespective of whether the rules allow or disallow pets as long as the pets do not cause noise and environment disturbance that will affect other residents.

But this one really takes the cake, a big dog kept at the staircase area. This just goes on to show the mentality that some people have with the things that they can do.

There are around 6 out of 200 units having a dog. Of which 2 of them are poodles that you see them only in transit between the units and their car. Another 3 walks their dogs, slightly bigger breed, daily but always on leash, from the apartment to the park. These are very considerate pet owners who never let their dog loose, cleans up after their dog did their business and try to keep their dog quiet. Haven't heard of complaints from the neighbours.

But there is always one black sheep who occasionally let her dog roam free and don't clean up. A lot complained but pitied her as she is old and need a walking stick to support herself, therefore on days when she really can't keep up with her bitch, she let her free. mad.gif

But cats here are really a nuisance and annoying. Compared to dog owners who confine their dogs, several cat owners let their cats free at night, to pee and poo everywhere. Some units kept so many cats in their units and don't do proper housekeeping and stinks the whole neighbourhood. mad.gif

In general, only pets in aquariums and cages are allowed, dogs and cats are not allowed. Keranji Apartment is no exception, the house rules states that a fine of RM200 shall be imposed if any such prohibited pets are found in any apartment but never enforced.

Most of the residents in Keranji are generally friendly biggrin.gif ( except some bangwall.gif ) and would mind your pets if they are not noisy, dirty or stinking. thumbup.gif

Any kind soul could help advise if Keranji Apartment, SS19 is pet friendly and if any residents is rearing pets over there? This has been very important for me as I'm interested to find an unit for own stay with my dog daughter. smile.gif

Sorry for delayed response.

How big is your dog daughter? Is it noisy? If it's not too big and noisy and you can keep it in your unit stench free, then it shouldn't be much of a problem.
But to be safe, check out your neighbour, that they are not muslims or even non muslims who are ultra sensitive to dogs.

The right thing to do is to report this to the condo's MC along with the above photos. Should be able to catch the culprit soon as the fire exits, doors and common property areas are monitored by CCTV.

Ya, should report to MC/JMB and if they don't act then forward the complaint to the Commissioner of Building of the local council.

No offence but I don't get it - why do people who stay in condo wants to keep dogs and cats confined to such a small place? or the other way round, if you would like to have a pet, perhaps condo is not suitable for you (and your pet). Kesian to the animals. Some dogs bark nonstop at night, some irresponsible pet owners e.g. some happily walk their pet in the garden when it is clearly forbidden - just to list some of the problems.
