The New Myvi 3rd Generation - based on individual experience & finding:-
Pro
- Interior seat space is amazingly spacious
- Resonably good seat size
- NVH is improved (but the stock tyres can be noisy though)
- Wheel arch inner part is coated
- Less floaty
- Silent engine during idle
- 1.3G MT is smooth & short

Anymore team?

Con
- Kluk or loosen metal knocking sound when driving over the bump with carrying rear passenger loads
***Please visit your nearest SC for adding on the "Rubber Insulator" to the rear spring of the absorber***
- No DRL
- For MT the clutch height is rather on the high side (however, can be adjusted at SC!)
- For MT if engine stops in the middle is cumbersone & also a feel of panicky due is required to press Start/Stop button to off the engine 1st before could restart again! (The car can't be restarted immediately)...upon reading through the manual MT needs to wait after 10second only to restart sweat.gif
- Spongy brake feel
- Driver door possible has rattling sound only for those come with Gear Up package!

"Possible" minor hiccup from isolated detected cases - based on user feedbacks - Best is visit SC during the 1st 1000km/h inspection appointment
- 1.5 driver seat usb bracket broken off - please get it fix at SC
- Perodua recently sent a letter (mostly) first wave/batch buyers to have a free checkup to get their spring changed ASAP as according to many owners, it's what causing the "kluk kluk" noise.
- Headlight vibration issue can be checked and replaced for free

Anymore team?

Aftermarket Upgrades List (already available!)
- Door Visor
- Performance air-filter
- Sport spring
- Armrest (squarish boxy type)
- Sunshade (for front & rear side windows)
- Pedal lock
- Chassis strengthening & handling bars eg. Front Strut Bar

Anymore team?

Suggestion for Upgrading
- In-Car Entertainment (ICE) - 1.3 & 1.5 both are using Toyota 2-Din (Double Din) headunit size which is horizontally longer in size. Therefore, is require side bracket!
- Foam - for enhancement of a firmer feel & stability in handling driving pleasure!
- Sound deadening or Soundproof - for a further quietest rides!

Anymore team?

Alright so I bet (almost) everyone is waiting for this. DRL Foglights !!!!!! rclxm9.gif

Done this yesterday at MyyCar Autoworks Cheras.

Also added a Slim Eye Lips DRL as an added bonus because why not eh brows.gif

It's quite bright but it's still no match for Honda HRV & Accord.

Unfortunately no vids for mine but luckily someone has done it before me : https://www.facebook.com/MyyCarAutoworks173...30652643946583/

Last pic is bonus after washing. thumbsup.gif

Tankhawk500, I've a few questions for you:
1) How do you switch on the DRL? Does it switch on automatically once you start the car? Or you can toggle it on & off?

2) Does it go off when you switch on the main headlights and or foglights?

Thanks in advance buddy.
*
1. It's auto. Starts once it detected power. Doesn't require engine to be running in order to work. It also runs at the phase before the car engine actually starts. It will also continue to run even when eco idle is engaged.

2. Nope. Only when I completely off the car.

DRL Foglights - RM 300

Slim Eye Lips DRL - RM 180

So that would be RM 480 smile.gif

About an hour can settle

Done my little sin 😁

*
I would have done this if my ride color wasn't granite grey.

I've seen a completely blackout Myvi (chrome delete, super smoked headlight and taillight, blacked out rims, black tint like batman car holy).

Don't even see a tiny speck of chrome bit.

It's nice but dayum it's so black. Doesn't get any blacker than that. laugh.gif

QUOTE(fhmhlm @ Jul 2 2018, 11:25 AM)
Come to think of it, the hood insulator actually insulates HEAT or SOUND?
*
I think it's primarily heat. Sound not so much although there might be some that does both.

If we were to talk about Perodua Gear Up ones, I think it's mainly heat.

heat, this is to prolong the lifespan of your hood's paint

anyway, i already saw multiple small scratches here and there on my car.. regret choosing dark color car xD
*
For me this is what is in my head when I thought about the color

Silver - I have a HRV which is already silver so no. Redundant.

White - Starting would be ok but white gets dirty easily and under prolong exposure from sun, will become yellow overtime. Good thing you can't see scratch so obvious.

Lava Red - I would have considered this color if it's like the Mazda Red type. or Maroon type. This color is too flashy. Also don't look too nice with the Chrome gearup hmm.gif

Green/Peppermint - Unfortunately only for 1.3 models.

Granite Grey - When they say granite grey, I thought it would be like the Modern Steel Metallic like CRV but honestly, this looks more like black to me. Most practical for me then.

Purple - This is a very tacky color. Just no.

From what I observe they did not cut any of the wiring from my car.

They use the wiring from the Slim Eye Lip and cut a bit from the wire and use the exposed copper to join into my headlight/signal light bulb socket. So yeah basically plug and play.

Guys, talking about coating the paint. Its better done by ourself or by shop?
*
Well if you have the time and experience to do it, or you know what you are doing, then by all means you can DIY.

It's not hard to do but it's a pretty lengthy process even for a Myvi size. But def way cheaper than shop.

You can take it to a shop but it took me about 4-5 hours to complete.

So I had to make sure I had no plans on that day when I wanna do coating.

I personally recommend Sierra Glow as its workmanship is very professional + near my home tongue.gif

Price is around 1-3k depends on what type of coating you select. It's been half a year and my coat is still on smile.gif

Latest price list to date.

So I guess this car really does get 20.1 km/l as advertised

Only possible on highway I guess

Nevertheless I'm impressed thumbsup.gif

Just do these few steps and you (maybe) good to go

- Maintain RPM below or around 3K
- Make sure Eco light lights up the entire way (Needs a very steady foot)
- 110-130kmph KL to SG
- I think AC plays a part in this too. Sometimes I set it to level one or just completely off it depends on the weather.
- RON 97 plays an important role (better FC burn)

Oh, I'm also facing the same problem for bluetooth connectivity. Song skipping/drop quite number of times during my travel from KL to JB. I read in the previous posts someone else is facing this problem as well.

Bottom line, have to change the H.U.

Yeah we both can agree on that.

BT I usually have no problem.........so far for now. Just don't play songs from BT as the sound quality is really bad. Also the song skipping issue I have experienced is usually on the old myvi. New one so far don't have...yet.

If play songs, better from pendrive or SD card (don't touch the latter as it's for GPS functionality).

If you were to change HU, go for the ones with Apple Carplay or Android Auto.

anyone have any idea how much does a new myvi LED headlight cost? wanna buy a spare set for the DRL mod @Tankhawk500 had.. haha

Since I'm one of the early first batch users, I do experience problems like said vibrations and stuff.

So one of the very major problems for me would be the headlight vibrating when I'm idling or just not moving. Which is yeah a bad thing sweat.gif

Luckily Perodua SC changed my left headlight absolutely no charge. And after adding the hood insulator, everything is fine again.

But just for fun sake, I also asked the SC how much would the headlight cost. Est around RM600-700 depending.

As for DRL mod, you can refer to my mod list at the first page. Price are around RM480 whole thing (Fog DRL & Slim Eye Lips)

I've collected my 1.3X and it already comes with a single piece hood insulator. I asked SA about the gear up type and he mentioned that they are not necessary as it already comes with the single piece type.

So can share which one you had added? Was the original single piece type removed if we go for the gear up ones?

Got single piece? I don't remember seeing it btw. Is there even a piece in the first place? Not that I'm aware of. hmm.gif

Is it the cover u mean? The cover under that hood? If you mean that, nope they didn't remove. The just added the paddings to the hood, then cover it it up with that original piece cover.

But anyways, the gear up hood insulator is the ones with multiple paddings. I just added it because it's pretty cheap and also to protect my hood. tongue.gif
