Stock tyres are 185/55. Gonna change to 195/55. Perhaps TS should consider this

QUOTE(haziqk10 @ Jun 24 2018, 03:14 PM) This, but stick with 15" and use wider tires (195 section width)' 16" is really neither here nor there, pay the extra money for tires but no real performance gain, except if you are going for tires like PS4 which only have 16" or bigger. QUOTE(mentalmuz @ Jun 24 2018, 11:41 AM) New myvi advance comes with 15inch rims so I think upsize to 16inch make sense. wow changing rims also need to re calibrate ASA? so troublesomeTo TS, to answer your question yes you can swap to 16inch rims. A few considerations to note 1. Look for the tyre size you want to swap. From tire calculator, the most suitable size is 195/45R16 as it has the least radius differences compare to original tyre. So you have to find out is this size easily available and what brand/model available in the market. Of course you can opt for other size but then the difference will be bigger and it will impact your odometer, FC, etc. try to keep as close as possible to the original radius. 2. The weight of the new rims + tyre should not differ much from the original rims + tyre. This means maybe you need to opt for original japan rims instead of Taiwan copy. Again, matching closely to manufacture spec is the best. 3. Myvi adv comes with ASA. From my reading, you’ll need to resend your car back to Perodua for recalibration. Please check with your nearest Perodua centers. 4. Swapping to lower profile tyre (55 to 45) will definitely have impact on comfort. Don’t expect the same comfort as original specs. In summary, you’ll want to keep the spec as close as original from Perodua as that is the most optimized for your car (comfort, FC, power). A lot of time people just swap without these considerations and then complain the car is not comfortable, no power, FC increase, etc. of course it will as the car are optimize for the original spec, not to the upgrade being done by user. So there will always have drawbacks whether its comfort, power or FC. It’s you to decide which one you can live without. Anyway I’m a myvi g3 advance user as well, please share your findings in case in the future I decided to upgrade the wheels as well 😁😅 |

QUOTE(PuDing92 @ Jun 25 2018, 03:14 PM) hey, if selling your 15" sport rim + tyre , PM me Turbo kit available for Myvi Gen 3? Appreciate if you could point me in the right direction.Oh and just take the 16" or 17" and spend another RM15K for turbo kit and other performance part. This is by far the best option |

I dont understand why need to change tyres size. .
Is it due to gaya or stability or better performance or any other reason? |

QUOTE(irate @ Jun 24 2018, 12:49 AM) Hello lowyat folks. With upsizing of your rim, you need to upsize the muffler , extractor and exhaust pipe as well! Like that only got style mah! Im getting a new Myvi Advance soon.. Im just wondering if its an acceptable move to change the current tyres / rims to a bigger one. Example 16 inch. Im new to this, i probably dont know much about cars.. Its going to be my first car. All this while had been using Grab for transportation. Appreciate if you folks could advise me on this. |

As far as I know, if anything happened like accident that need to claim insurance, most likely insurance will not pay because you use heel size beyond the size the car is designed for. |

QUOTE(selinix @ Jun 25 2018, 02:53 PM) Well that is what I've been told in forums/FB groups. Best to double check with Perodua themselves QUOTE(Zot @ Jun 25 2018, 04:16 PM) Dunno anything about car. Maintain 15". I'm sure other owners have different reasons. |

However, I want slightly wider tyres cos I can't find Michelin PS3 in 185/55. |

QUOTE(PuDing92 @ Jun 25 2018, 07:06 PM) quite good huh for a performance upgrade. The power loss due to increase in rim size surely could be compensate with this upgrade but of course, the FC is sacrificed. I can live with higher FC in return for more power. Still won't be as bad as my other car's FC. Can't win everything anyway |

I plan to transfer my 15" rims with Michelin PS3 195/55/15 tyres once I get the new Myvi
Maybe upgrade to 17" later as I'm using 17" rims for my other car |
