Not yet, they only announcing it.

From rumors gathered previously, the new NFS going to move from arcade-like into simulation/arcade hybrid like Gran Turismo. The name itself (unofficial and been denied once) NFS Pro Street may suggest a different storyline or setting. The teaser shows a RX-7 in a racing track some more.

Just like been said before, it's WAAAAYYYY TOOOOO EARLYYYY to say it's good or not. 31 May is just a mere 10 days away. biggrin.gif

Goldfries: I share the same view, man. Been NFS-ing since NFS II and Carbon, while graphically nice, it's the lowest point in NFS so far.

Let's put the Carbon behind. The new game quality is not yet known until it came out or at least a demo popped out. Let's just pray that Carbon is the lowest in 11 years of NFS history and never be repeated again. notworthy.gif

After it official launch, usually how long will we need to wait till the game comes to Malaysia?

Till the release date. tongue.gif
The game usually available here one day before US release date.

QUOTE(omnimech @ May 25 2007, 07:21 PM)
NFS with gran turismo graphics.. can u say yum ?
*
Acutally, their target is to bring Gran Turimo car physics like to NFS. Not bringing graphic...well, to think of it, almost all new games got graphic near GT alrdy.

Anyone know how to play nfs carbon on vista? Mine keeps one crash after the EA screen although i set the compatibility mode to 98/me and xp oso same..... sad.gif
*
This is not the correct thread to ask but here's the solution:

- Rename the movie folder. Change it from MOVIES to whatever name you like.
- You don't need to set the compatibility mode anymore.
- The only downside of this method is, you will not have any movies (intro, cutscenes) at all. sad.gif

worried bout my graphic card, do ya think mine x550 need to upgrade already??just bought half yr ago cry.gif
*
I think half a year ago x550 alrdy considered not really hot anymore I think...hold on, is the x550 is on your laptop?

obefiend: it could be mix of both. The early part of the teaser can be done easily with newer cards (nvidia 8000 series) or xbox 360/ps3. The crashes part though, unknown hehehe~

From the press release:

QUOTE
Need for Speed ProStreet boasts impeccable precision and impressively detailed photo-realistic graphics, effectively transporting you to the center of the action. It pushes the "Autosculpt(tm)" technology to a new level, allowing you to directly impact your car's performance for the first time as well as personalize its appearance. Need for Speed ProStreet is a true taste of raw adrenaline and racing with consequences. Every dent, every scratch and every crumpled body panel is a battle scar, proof of your commitment and competitive mettle. With an aggressive and skilled AI system, you become immersed in an unmatched believable race experience. Add in a revolutionary online mode that will redefine the meaning of competitive social play, and Need for Speed ProStreet is the ultimate formula for an emotionally charged street racing showdown.

Hokay, the last part...don't tell me no LAN anymore, EA? Put la LAN pwetty plz... cry.gif

EGM early opinion on ProStreet
QUOTE
"Rather than unleash another pink-lit racing variant ... have set about redefining the game and sending it off in a new direction."

"It's truly a next-gen racer."

On smoke: "...looks remarkably realistic, and not like the painted-on effects we've seen in games like Project Gotham Racing or Gran Turismo. This stuff dissipates just like the real thing."

On damage: "...Pro Street is the most convincing we've seen yet"

From the first look trailer, I doubt what EGM said. To be next-gen, ProStreet need to be at least on par with DiRT as far as I concern.

New video: Interview with one of NFSPS producer, John Doyle. Checkout the big framed picture behind him. rclxms.gif

New feature mentioned:
Blueprint: tuning sharing made easy.
Tracks: inspired by real-world tracks, came from all over the world.

offtopic: I wonder if EA will have problem with the Pro Street name, because there is a performance parts company with that name.

Hahahah, I hope so as well, but ProStreet focused on street racing so the chance of Sepang, Nurburgring appearing in the game could be low. But then, parts of Nurburgring are open for public right... hmm.gif

After 4 years being fed with illegal street racing storylines, maybe the changes is good. It could be the typical "rookie driver route to the top" storyline. That could be a perfect continuation from Underground --> Most Wanted --> Carbon story.

white angel: If it's going to be track racing, I doubt there will be sound system or a lot of interior options. You would want your car to be as light as possible.

Mie: Drag will be back in ProStreet.

Parrot: I share the same feeling with you regarding NFS:PU. nod.gif
