okok guys if i buy the dell 228WFP and upgrade the warranty to 5 years, will i still get 1 to 1 replacement if anything goes wrong after the 3rd year? Like maybe dead pixel or LCD cant operate?
1 more thing, if i received the LCD which has a dead pixel, what should i do? Call their 1800 and lie to them that the LCD cant work so i'll get a new one? Advice needed here! Thanks
*
if u opt for 5 year warranty then they will do one to one exchange for whole 5 years
dead pix. policy is dead pixels should be more than 7... just tell them ur monitor has many dead pixels and they will dispatch people to ur place

btw, my order status said that the monitor is currently shipping from factory, I dunno which factory they mention? Is it china or penang? unsure.gif

any idea how to purchase dell stuff at pc fair without credit card?
*
actually, you can use interbank transfer aka TT if u using maybank2u to order online
i use this method, and the money reached Dell's bank acc. within 24 hours, faster than check or bank draft.

My dell 24' lcd monitor has arrived . The problem is,  there is this mouse lag  ( or input lag, some call it)  issue. Very obvious in FPS games.

I am running on ati 9800 pro with a DVI-I connection. Could it be that not
using DVI-D connection  that cause this mouse lag problem?
*
because its using SPVA panel which has laggier response time

QUOTE(ckkean @ Aug 3 2007, 08:34 PM)
Is it? Thats good for you. The Dell website stated that delivery time only on weekdays.  laugh.gif

I'm also an owner of the Dell E228WFP. Got it last week (took about 4 days from order). Quite pleased with the monitor, good value for money.

Mine is Rev A02 - how about everybody else? I read in another forum, apparently can tell which panel by looking at the last letter in the serial number. Mine ends in "S", what's yours?
*
how to check for Rev no.?
and is it possible to determine the panel used?

Guys, I m planning to buy the Dell UltraSharp 2407WFP- HC 24" Wide Screen Flat Panel LCD Monitor. My current graphic card is AGP Radeon 9600XT. Can it support the 24" LCD monitor? My major task on it will be normal office works, internet browsing and movies. Not so into games. Please advice.
*
should be no problem, just need to update driver if necessary

I browsed the Dell monitor CD, and found only the color profile, and ATI and nvidia GC drivers, can't find the Dell monitor driver

now the display properties still display Generic PnP Monitor with default ICC profile loaded... how to let windows recognize the Dell monitor?

those watching xvid on a 22" and feeling pixelated, should enable both of the deblocking methods in xvid decoder config, under k-lite codec pack, and it makes big difference with the cost of additional cpu resource.

Where is that? I could only find "Xvid Encoder" and "Divx Decoder" in my program group.
*
they should be both xvid encoder and decoder shortcuts under 'Configurations' sub folder of K-lite
I installed the Mega pack

hi everyone. i've been goin through this thread (not all 70 of them of course tongue.gif) and my choices have boiled down to either the 206bw or the 226bw. the price diff between the two is generally less than 200...but i've heard that the quality is better on the 20 cuz both models have the same per pixel (...) somethig like that. i'm also a bit worried about the panel..heard that i shud avoid the A panel, and that S was the best. some recent posts also mentioned about lag, though i think my x2 3800+ and x1950pro with 2gig ram shud b fine for the native resolution no? if i cant play at the native and only at 1280 for example, would the screen look weird?!

my lcd would be mainly for watching series/movies and gaming. wud really appreciate any input from owners of both models. thanks a bunch!!
*
get 226bw since the price difference is very few. And because the resolution on a 20" is the same as 22", so viewing fonts on a 20" is very small and hurt your eyes. And also another reason is, 20" is way overpriced, for Samsung 20" which is around rm900, u can get 22" from other brands such as dell or acer alrdy.

ur specs should be fine with the native reso, I ve the same specs as urs, i ve tried that on CNC3 and COH on 1680*1050 with the same details on 1280*1024, the fps at most only a few lesser compare to 1280*1024, no worries

What make u say that? Anyway the samsung 20" 206BW has 3000:1 contrast ratio, 2ms which other cheaper brand dont hav or u just dont care about gaming image quality etc.
*
dude... first of all, instead of blindly believing that 3000:1 contrast ratio and also that 2 ms, pls go read some review and image test about that samsung first

although the image quality of that is better than dell or some others, but their claim of 3000:1 and 2 ms is well disputed and doesn't reflect the real world application at most time

i loled reading your post. 20" at 1680x1050 is perfectly clear, and those claims of font being too small is just so funny!!!  rclxms.gif  As a matter of fact, that is the way it should be, 30" at 2560x1600, 24" at 1920x1200, 20" at 1680x1050, 19" at 1440x900 - And those 4 resolutions at their respective size has the same font size. 22" at the same resolution of 20" is just pure ugly, blurry and unsharp. I looked at the 22" dell at fair yesterday and i almost puke of the quality, viewing angle is terrible! I shifted to the right a little and the big color change is so obvious! It is nothing but a value product, nothing to be excited at all about the quality of the unit. At the end of the day, if it is not about the excellent dell warranty, dell 22" is just a big screen low quality product at a cheap price. it is popular not because of the quality, but because of being the cheapest 22" money can buy. And that's the FACT!
*
bro... if the 20" u mentioned is 2007wfp... then no need to wait u tell, i also can tell that 2007 is better than 228wfp sweat.gif
very few 20" is Non-TN panel, but samsung 206BW is definitely not one of them, so for the same TN panel, why not choose 226BWwhich is just rm2xx more?

don't compare TN panel with other higher end panels, and the font size are judged by the dpi, which in turn are affected by pixel size. So the font on a 20" with native reso is even smaller than 17" 4:3.

"Samsung specifies that all production of the 223BW will be with Samsung panels."

then this will redeem back some confidence of consumers, and cheaper summore, between 2ms and 5ms that ain't noticeable differences at all, a good buy and will be LG 226WTQ killer to some extent
